  • The short ball is the shot that we work for. Its supposed to be the highlight of a well-played point. But many of us get confused or just lack confidence when it comes to this area of the court. In this video I help clear up some common issues standing in between you and capitalizing on the moments. HAVE FUN😁

Thank you Will. Been a big fan of your videos and they've helped my games in so many aspects. Congrats on the awesome content!
As a new year wish, I'd love to see a video on good ways to practice serve returns especially when
    1. you're practicing alone, and/or
    2. your hitting partner can't serve really fast or with quality spin/slice
    Thanks!

Something I do with one of my daughters that can only serve about 85mph is have her move up to the service line. It's still only 85mph, but I have less time to read and react so it simulates (for me) reacting to a 100mph+ serve. Just a thought.

Hi Will. I like this video. However, please allow me to digress. Would love to see a video on how to control depth (shallow vs deep) on the second serves (slice & kick). Thanks

@IronWillTennis - thanks for posting this super useful video.
One question - I sometimes get a very low and low pace short ball and I find that to be a difficult ball to deal with, not to say attack, because I have to dig it out from the ground and higher over the net.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make my return of these a little bit more offensive?

I did a video on that a little while back. I covered a lot in it
