I love this!! The painting reminds me a lot of a feeling I've struggled to express before - whenever I'm in a creative rut, I feel this uneasiness, something inside needing to get out, reaching out and expressing itself to me as these strong feelings trying to connect my heart to the world. But at the same time, because of a lack of intentionality, or lack of creative activity (which is really a mirror to the self like you said!) I just can't actually tap into what that something actually is, and I'm left stumbling in the dark. The dark circle reminds me of that something, and the waves remind me of those feelings? The green around the circle feels really inviting to me for some reason - Although it could just be that I love green 😅😂 I remember a few months back I wrote down something that led me to creating again - "I want to live, and life is creation" Your thoughts gave me so much to think about. It makes my heart warm knowing there's people like you out there
