  • In this Fifth episode of #AdventureModified , we are in Lal Lal State Park. 134kg WET and around 23 hp is what you have to play with with the #Kawasaki #KLR250 . This is a 1990 model, so 30 years old this year, and still running really well! He takes this when he goes on the more difficult Adventure rides. This is only kick start, but does have liquid cooling, which is pretty advanced for a 30 year old dual sport bike. This just shows you though, that even on a budget and with an older bike, you can have fun! That's what the adventure riding world should be about I reckon. Its the experiences, not how much money you can throw at a bike.

I had one of the 1984 models in red. Fantastic bike! Sold with 63,000 trouble free kilometres on it. I think Acerbis made a 23 litre fuel tank for them, too.

He keeps that bike in great condition but not scared to take on some tough tracks.

Yeah, he really loves this bike. Awesome to see something that old still running silky smooth.

I.just bought one older then this. They built them just the same as that from 1984 to 2005. US millitary used them. Successful design.

I just picked up an 05,I just based on the short ride I have had on it, It will get a new front sprocket (a tooth or 2), and open the air box a bit.

6:19: You're wrong! There's no need to "start at the side of a hill". That mountain goat doesn't stop, and just goes all the way to the top. :D

Pre-1990 was 28hp. I’d like to know what reduced the power and can it be easily changed back. I’m actually looking at a 1998 that’s in great shape.

The intake cam. Buy mojave cam (same engine) part# 12044-1181 but to be honest it won't go like a ktm lol

Andy I love your bike so much I bought one! I'm in South Wales UK and flew to Edinburgh to ride it 500miles home. My question is did you know of an alternative sump guard to the ricochet one. Maybe something from another bike that fits? Also do you have any issues with the side panels off? I'm thinking of just making something simple to keep the bits covered.

Hey Jon that's cool! I do not know of any other make of bashplate which will fit. But one can fabricate something very easily using 5mm aluminum plate, grinder and drill
