I used to have a 93 klr 250 and all stock it could do around 130 kph on a flat paved road. It was wound out and almost red lined on the tach at that speed. I could put different size sprockets on it and it would increase the top speed but probably only on flat or down hill stretches. I don't think it would have the power going up hill to go past 130 kph, at least with me on it since I weigh around 200 lbs. I don't have the bike anymore but I bought a new 2023 KLX 300 camo and it is being delivered next week. I will have to wait for warmer weather to try it out and see how it compares to my old KLR 250.
It goes 65 on the highway but over that you are revving the crap out of it... and you can overheat it when you stop the bike in town. Dual sports need a rest stop.
The KLR 250CC IS MY DREAM BIK IHAVE A TRS 250 WITH A 1000KM I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW WOULD HELP ME PURCHAS OR SWOP AND PAY THE BALANCE SECOND HAND WILL BE ALL I CAN AFFORD
None of your gauges even work! LOL Top Speed of a KLR250 is: Unknown. No Straightaway long enough in the world to find out. I've had mine up to like 58-60mph offRoad/around the block.

Thanks for posting this! What was your cause of the gauge failure? Going through that now
Those really looked good IMO in the white/blue configuration. Iv had a lot of KLX250, sounds like a different engine.
