Glad my video is an inspiration to you. There is not much mods i done, just punch out the exhaust and drill the intake box and re-jet. Other then that it is pretty much stock

By the way the old O'Neils are very heavy and the new ones are very lightweight, they both look the same except for the new boots have a vibrem sole

I'm looking at a 2000 KLR 250 and researching. Impressed with what you did with it. Would you recommend for 1600 bucks?

Took my klr through the washouts in the corn fields. Really surprised me. I did bust a fork seal but they're almost 20 years old now. I keep contemplating trading up to a klx250s but I'm hesitant.

dont. you can always buy newer one, but KLR's are becoming rare nowadays...

@ApocGuy I sold her. I got an 06 klx250s. I like it better off road and its decent on road. I wish I would have kept the klr though. It was pretty much the perfect bike for me besides not having e start and a good off road suspension.

Well I am kinda bummed out, my klr 250 won't start timing is spot on valves are adjusted right, carb rebuilt, rejeted, nothing in the exhaust good spark, my repair book (yes I have a repair manual for this klr 250 and 600 )I still have the motor from my 85 klr 600,the book says compression should be 85 to 110, it's 115,the klr sites all say that also, tired of kicking, it is hard for a 69 year old man, I even bought new O'Neil atv trail boots, that didn't work out for me, my old O'Neils are 40 years old

Drill out the brass choke fuel pick up jet inside the bottom of the carburettor, I used a 0.4 drill bit, do it by hand its not very deep, you don't want to snap that bit in there, give it a clean out with some aerosol carb cleaner to remove any bits of swarf, did my 1998 Klr 250 this week after years of bitch starting, usually with a squirt of easy start down the air filter, now it's second kick every time without fail .👍🏼

Before anything else make sure you clean out the starter (not idle) jet. It’s a very small hole, Even smaller than idle jet. Mine was clogged and it makes it very difficult to start. Yo need to use carb cleaner and compressed air to make sure it’s open. If your idle jet, and fuel screw are correct and the starter circuit is operating it should start.

When was this filmed? And what city and state, those trails look knarly man, my klr 250 is crying to try riding them

I believe in early March, we were in the San Bernardino mountains near the cajon pass. Yea is because some of those were not even trails....we end up on many of what we thought was trails only to end up in some pretty crazy situation. Where are you from yourself?

0:03 is that where bakerXderek "snapped his shit up"?
The trails look awesome, Looking at getting a bigger bike a klr250 is top of the list right now.

Be Careful about buying the Bigger Bike, yes they’ve got more power and are really great, but my old 250 always Ran Rings Around the Other Big Bikes, because it was Smaller, but has enough power and is far easier to maneuver than big bikes

All he’s really got to do is go buy New Plastics for it, and put them on.
It could be year Specific though, but just a Complete set of plastics, maybe 2-5 if you can, for when those parts get rare

I might sell my klr 250, my doctors want me to stop riding and are threating me by saying that they are going to get a court order for me to stop, my motor is completely rebuilt and hasn't been started yet

    • @4faidan
      @4faidan  5 лет назад +4

You have your free will. If you wish to ride till you die the doctor should have no say in that. Hope you can keep doing what you would like to do until the very last day Michael!

I still haven't started my klr yet, I have been trying to save my money for a new motor for my vw trike, I don't make alot money as I am on permanent disability,I had a appointment to have my klr go through a stage 3 inspection to register it but 2 days before the inspection I had heart problems and was put back in the hospital, had to make a new appointment but they scheduled it 5 months later and covid 19 happened now I have to wait again

Hello Jolly Roger, thanks, I am still waiting to get my klr250 inspected, I had an appointment, I showed up but there was a sign on the door saying due to the covid 19 they won't be open for inspections until further notice, I finally got my trike together a month ago with a new motor,

LOL "How extreme of a ride can a Kawasaki KLR 250 take". The suspension rides like a Cadillac on these. Now try and hit doubles and it's a whole different story. This isn't that extreme, it sounds like it's working it's ass off just to go thru a little brush.
