    My desire for this bike was a big part of what drove me to get back into riding a dozen years ago.

    Very good approach to building an adventure bike. It's always best when it's your custom design.

      Thanks for the comment! Agree, you got to build was is best suited for you, not just throw an entire parts catalogue onto it.

    Great video! I've absolutely destroyed subframe running very hard with nothing but a Rotopax on the rear plate, so it's great that you show the Triple Clamp Moto subframe mod. It's pretty much mandatory if you're going to ride hard with anything on the back of the bike.
    Other mandatories, you nailed. Sidestand relocator, airbox replacement. Don't forget the Dr. Bean MOSFET replacement controller for the fuel pump, because the OEM electro-mechanical will fail at or under 30k km.

      Hey mate, thanks for the great comment! When I bought it, it had just had the fuel pump replaced with a factory one. So I guess I am ok for a little bit, but yeah that is on the list! And the water pump shaft replacement might be good too.

    14L... 10L/100... 140km range. I think you will be carrying your fuel box more often than you think ;)
    Haha. The poor old SE is notoriously bad on fuel.

      I like your optimism! I've re jetted from 155 mains to 175 due to the exhausts and foam filter. Average 140km before fuel light with 3l in reserve. Maybe I should just strap the wrs IMS 18l to the back of it :)

    What a weapon. I wish that I had one over my DRZ. Which bike makes you a better rider? The light weight WR250R or the full on enduro KTM? There is a video on its own.

      Hey mate, thanks for the comment! You know what, I would say my 300EXC has made me the better rider. I find on the bigger bike I don't want to take to many risks, and the WR is so capable I don't push it as much as I could. The 300 EXC in single track Enduro, forces me to try new techniques and terrain that I wouldn't usually. The Enduro has made me a much better Adv rider.

    What did you do with the crank breather pipe after fitting Alons air filter kit? I have same mods as you, bar the sump plate and hand guards ......... how do you rate the fit of the cycra's?
    Oh, btw, l would use a thicker plate of ally for the reg/rec relocation plate and paint it black - makes for a better heat sink to keep reg/rec cooler👍
    Nice bike and thanks for the vid!

    • @DriveOnLeft
      @DriveOnLeft  3 года назад +1

      Hey mate, I fitted the filter provided and cable tied it up high in the frame towards the front. Cycras are good, deflect a lot of air. I got these off alibaba so a great price! I'm using 4mm aluminium plate, what thickness should it be? Thanks.

    • @agee8322
      @agee8322 3 года назад

      @@DriveOnLeft ah, right .... 4mm is good, having it black would help too. I will admit that l got my plate and clips from a guy in america that was selling the kits. Cheers for the confirmation on the cycra's - they are very expensive in the uk though, so might go enduro engineering (have them on the 300)
      Keep your eye on the breather pipe ..... if/when you ride in cold weather, it could form mayo because of no positive draw from airbox. Cheers

    Wow ! Dude is out riding a KTM SE totally broke. Go to work man so you dont have to order fake aftermarket parts from China and swap your one steering damper between 2 bikes. Work first bro , play second. Priorities!
