- Emotional and powerful testimony filled the Carnahan Courthouse on Tuesday as the trial against Daniel Riley officially began. Riley is the driver accused of critically injuring Tennessee teen Janae Edmondson while she and her family were visiting St. Louis in February 2023 for a volleyball tournament at the Dome at America's Center.

He is reaching for the sun in the sky on a raining cloudy day. He is trying not to be accused of ineffective counsel so he is asking questions to make him sound like he is defending his client. He is wasting everyone's time with this line of questions. She is not at fault his client is.
She shouldn’t have been driving so it’s 50/50 her fault.

It amazes me how people's lives can be changed or taken without any real consequences. Additionally, there is no amount of insurance that the victim can receive for this life-altering accident. Often, there's no insurance or enough insurance.
It wasnt her fault no matter if she had a suspended or not! She also says she didnt know it was still suspended. He is the only one that was guilty.

Turo is kinda like air bnb for cars, so n a sense they only can see the license they are ppl like u and I and probably don’t have the means to verify if they have an active license. It would definitely be a great change for the company to b liable going forward if they (Turo) aren’t already themselves responsible for verifying that someone has a valid license

I would NEVER let anyone drive my truck or car. No way. So many people do drugs, drive without DL or insurance. That’s why they want someone else’s car…

Kim Gardner should have never allowed him bail with his past record of more than 100 charges. She’s allowed these lowlifes to continue to be released, dismissed charges, refused to even hold him accountable for all these past crimes. She should have been removed from the bench years ago.
I would love to know why this defense atty is trying to make it that it’s this young girls fault, when the cops ticketed the other driver for running the light & causing the accident.

She doesn’t remember ANYTHING. She’s definitely been coached. She wasn’t at fault for what happened but she definitely committed some crimes that night.
She does remember some things, but I am not surprised that she doesn't remember details after such a horrific accident. Granted she shouldn't have been driving, but there is no way anyone could recall every single detail.

@@arlandolittle7625yes, actually many of us are & this is absolutely the first court room, & I’ve set in more than 100 in my time, that’s ever had this type of set up. Having her turned towards the jury, and then having to turn her entire body to even be able to answer the attys is ridiculous. There’s never a set up to address the jury. It’s to address who’s speaking to you, not to the jurors.
@@empressnigeriait’s hideous how confusing it is. The person on the stand should always be facing & speaking to whom is speaking to them, and not the jury. I’ve never seen any other court room set up in this manner.

Comas , forgetting about details in a car accident (hence while you were sleeping ) or any other accidents or things to some people will cause Trauma! Fight or flight ! Definitely, traumatic experiences can affect your memory. Literally! It happened to me, but it wasn't an auto accident.

@@rondarivadeneira172, actually no. The defense lawyer is asking these questions because he knows she has no memory after the crash. The cops investigated the accident at great length and it proved she was not at fault.
granted i don’t feel this was her fault, but she remembered that her cousin was holding the phone giving her directions. 😂

She is not on trial. I would have stopped this line of questioning the minute it started it does not have relevance in this particular case
How come she can't remember her blood being drawn? She doesn't remember ANYTHING!!! Who teaches these kids to not take accountability? At least plead the fifth amendment and refuse to incriminate yourself, but to lie and say you don't remember is ridiculous. All of her testimony will be used against her in the upcoming lawsuit and if she tries to defend herself, it will be thrown back at her as "you didn't remember previously in court".
She knew she wasn't supposed to be driving. She's lying! I agree with the comment she was coached by the DA so they can make their case. The way this child got hurt with the lies that are being told, ("I don't remembe") I 🙏 GOD has mercy on their souls.

I just started watching it & thought at first it may be the girl who lost her legs. I’ve been in a lot of court rooms, watch a lot of trials, & have never seen this type of set up before.

However, it sounds like the other driver pulled out in front in front of her, as she had a green light & the other driver would have ran the light, according to her testimony. She went thru a green light & remembered the impact & air bags deploying. I don’t believe she is on trial & am just beginning to watch this case.
