I need to know what your recommendation is between the TCL 6 series and the Vizio P-Series 2018 model I seen you did a review on both people say the Vizio is better but by how much I want it for my Ps4 Pro right now I'm using a Samsung NU7100
What would you recommend for xbox one x a 4k hdr gaming monitor like the LG27uk650-w or the BenQ EW3270U or a mid range 4k hdr tv like the samsung un55nu8000 with freesync? I'm torn between these three I want the best overall picture quality but I also want the smoothest possible gameplay I'm wondering how much better the picture quality is on the samsung and how smooth gameplay is compared to these other ones if you could give me your advice of really really appreciate it.
Joelster I had the same issue but have not tried port 2 yet? Did you get a new model after this and was it just this TV was bad and your new model was fine?

Inverting the legs works perfectly fine. I did that for my smaller stand as well. Also this is a 60hz panel
I liked your video so much about the TCL R6 series that I ran out and purchased the tv and an almost identical stand, I got my stand from Sam's Club, the tv fits my stand with about four inches on each side. Thanks for the awesome video !!!
Awesome Video, Thank you very much for doing the leg stand inversion. I just picked mine up but didn't take it out of the box because i don't have a wall mount. and my tv stand is too small just like yours. But thanks to your genius self, now i can open the box and put it on my small tv stand. Good job. enjoy the tv. :)
The blooming issue was your local dimming being off in game mode, your HDMI 2 wasn’t in game mode so local dimming was on. It was like that upon release. They released an update to allow local dimming now in game mode to rid the blooming

I have a Vizio P75 and love it. Love the local dimming. How does the TCL R6 compare overall...if you have an idea?
Thanks for the comments guys. Local dimming turned off when I switched to game mode that's why there was blooming, everything works fine now.
I also changed some picture settings and brightness improved, I will be posting new videos.
Are you saying HDMI port 1 is not blooming now? And please A idea for a better side by review is: See the horse running video you played on 2 brands of TV well you must synch the videos, otherwise the grass is different and the clarity of horse in beginning of video vs latter in video, and that can make one think one TV is clearer than the other, when its just the video is different. Kinda make both tv's mirror or close to it in the play of the horse video or any video
Went to Local BESTBUY here in Raleigh, NC yesterday and ordered mine in store. Its pretty much sold out every where else and Amazon is hit and miss. But bestbuy is doing order and pick up in two days
How is motion blur?
I all ways wanted to buy this TCL TV but it doesn't ship in my country Malaysia well that suck worst thing even if it budget if it can't ship to the country you live cause international I feel left out .

Quick update, HDMI port 3 works fine :)
When you turned on Game Mode on HDMI 1 it turned off "Local Contrast" (Local Dimming). That's why HDMI 1 looked bad.
BaleIsBatman Yes you are right, thanks for pointing that out, everything works fine now, I will post a new video tomorrow with some changes i did that enhanced the picture beautifully.

Joelster G4K hey man have hoy tried the regular ps4? I'm having issues with HDR ig comes up at first , logo comes up, and then HDR drops. I cant find anything on this, I have the s405 and it works fine there.
My hdr is dropping to on ps4 pro! It’s driving me nuts! Please help! 😫
Well it’s nice that you are given so many options with your picture. I do like some motion smoothing.
I noticed that once you changed to game mode on hdmi port 1 the local contrast turned off, did you set back on high?..maybe that could be the cause of the blooming?

you can also put half the tv on one stand and same with the other. utilize both stands.
The picture still seems to be behind Samsung/Sony, but I mean you're paying half the price. This is truly the perfect budget 4K tv. Great review!

Thanks for sharing your unboxing and first impression of this TV. I am close to pulling the trigger on a TV. I was going to buy this one as long as no judder issue on streaming video. That said, the end of oyur video is not very promising. COnsidering how much better your other TV looked I may go the sony 900 or 850 e route. Those only have low 30's input lag rate though, what you think of tvs that have good but not great input lag numbers.... does your other TV in the room have in the 15 17 range? is it good with ps4 and xbox?

I will make my decision between this and the Vizio M series when more reviews come out. Seems like a great display but not the end all budget TV we expected.

Well now that the local dimming is turned on for game mode is it a lot brighter? Explains why it was so dull in the comparison with the Samsung.
I was going to wait for this TV but then I was at Best Buy and I stood in front of an LG B7 for like 20 minutes and I walked out with one lol don’t regret it at all though, OLED is unbelievable.

I have last year 55 P series and love it, but will this one do sports well? Everything I am seeing, it is still 60hz. I love everything else about the tv.
Is there a bigger version ? I need 75 inch or bigger. There is a tcl 75inch c8 with an ugly sound bar attached or in looking at the Vizio E series. any ideas???

Im confused Joelster. I was planning on upgrading from my P607 because the new 6 series was supposed to be a 120 hrz panel with 240 cmi (motion interpolation). Everything I read prior to release stated that it would be. But looking at the specs now it still says 120 hrz cmi which means its still a 60 hrz panel. Was TCL misleading us? This appears to be the exact same tv as 2017 just with a little more dimming zones and a metal finish. Is there any other reason I should upgrade? Is watching movies any better than last years with the sometimes really bad screen judder? Cause at this point im so glad I didn't preorder and feel just fine sticking with my P series.

If you plug headphones into the Headphone Jack in the back, does it mute the audio to the internal and external speakers?
Does it has better viewing angle that the p607? Is it a better performer in any way over last years model? I would love a comparison between the two to know if it is definitely better than the p607.

How are the viewing angles? I have the tcl 605 and the viewing angles are very bad.
Use HDMI 3 for gaming as it has the lowest input lag on this TV.

low input lag but cheap still looks good for games but when you compare to Something like S"ony A8G oled it would make your game looks alive!
@@Danielle_Diaz I have a LG 2019 model and wow it just looks incrediably smooth no lag no skip but because im on xbox one X and there gamemode that aloud the it to sdmooth out the game and since it 120hz, I can turn 1080p 120fps on make it more smooth.!

What's the difference between TCL L65P6US and "6 series" is it the same TV or not? Can't find "true" 6 series in my country by model name R617. Only this one (L65P6US) as fresh model of this year. Thanks

How many inches are the stands after inverting them compared to 48 inches?
Does every hdmi port have its own image/video settings ? When you have configured the video settings, these only apply to the active source. The others could stay unchanged. This could explain the blooming in hdmi 1. If this is the case, then try to spot what setting by comparing the two video settings.

I just got a 43s517 and it has black metal around it. on the sides and top.
Will this last you a long time? I use my TVs a lot. I currently use a 32” 1080 Samsung and after about 5 or 6 months I started noticing some dead pixels.
Do you have ur cable hooked to hdmi 1 or arc?
I think God of War has a camera sway option that might give you the feeling of an odd motion effect. I disabled that immediately. Perhaps try that?

Yoooo Joelster, I noticed that when you turned the Tcl on imput 1 to game mode it turned off the local contrast dimming zones. That is what seemed to cause the back light bleeding in your review. Obviously I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong but I kinda noticed that from earlier on. Try turning it back on and see if it happens again. Hopefully it shouldn't. By the way the TV this year in 2018 looks absolutely sweet in it's design. Please do some comparisons with the Samsung as far as SDR and HDR movies soon if you can. 👍👍

I called TCL Australia branch today and they said that this mode(R6 model)will not be available in my country(bummer!!!).They said though that the new X4 QLED will be available soon here.The 55-inch model will be just over $2,000.What do you guys reckon?

This vs the Sony 900F which one is better?
I'm considering the TCL 6 series and Vizio E Series or maybe P series. What is your suggestion regarding those models? I currently have a Samsung UN60J620DAF I believe I bought in 2015 or 16. It's just a standard 1080p HD TV. I'm moving it to a bedroom and thinking of getting a 4k for the family room to replace the Samsung. Your advise is highly appreciated. Thanks!
Nice review...I think the input lag is due to the action smoothing.

It's a 60HZ panel. It also doesn't look like a good TV is you like SOE...like me. Thanks for the review. It still looks laggy when you turned all the motion settings off. I'm glad I held off on getting this set.
Just go to Lowes and get a particle board cut to length to put on top of the cabinet.
Huge favor - I have a 55r617 to install- can you tell me the dimensions of the bottom holes of the VESA pattern in relation either to the bottom of the tv or the center of the tv? That is, how high are the bottom VESA holes above the bottom of the tv? Electrician will be here tomorrow 9 AM on the west coast so if you could answer this ASAP it would sure be helpful. We are in the middle of a remodel and don’t have a clean lay down area to unbox my 55r617 or I’d check myself. TIA and love your reviews and your enthusiasm!
Do the inverted stands hold the TV pretty securely? I would worry that it might wobble around and fall over easily. I bought a pair of mounting legs like you would use for a monitor and put those on the back but the plastic where they screw in is really loose and the TV wobbles around. I'm interested in trying inverting the legs.

This TVs refresh rate is 60 hertz native not 120 hertz, tells on the websites you buy it from, and I know it doesn’t matter with console gaming, just saying
Tv looks beautiful . For $650? you canoot be wrong with it (under $1k) . You shut have compare any Smsng , Sony, or LG tv's under $650 😄 . Good video amigo 😉
Marian Makula, buying a TCL product is like flushing your money down the toilet. Bought a new 55" TCL. it had no picture within 6 months. The replacement TV had no picture within 9 months of replacing. Ten phone calls to TCL later, I'm stuck with a 55" coat rack because TCL refuses to take responsibility for their garbage product. That's 2 TV's. I don't know about anyone else but when I purchase a new TV, I would expect to get at the very least, 3 years of use. TCL is garbage.
If you could measure the inverted stand separation distance also,...that would be very helpful.

What do you think of the KS8500? I live in México and I can only get old Samsungs like Mu7000 por The TCL p6 series. I have Ps4 pro, and really liked the Sony 55" X850 but it is about 950 us dollars.

Lola Tv wonderful! Works perfect as advertised! 4K is amazing, black levels are dark and the HDR blew me away! Took awhile to get it but it was worth the wait. Highly recommend
So if I go 2 watch a 4k movie do I have 2 turn off the game mode ? Or can I leave it on?
Tommy Acheronti You can leave it on but I would suggest to use movie mode instead, it usually has better colors for movies.
Another Question? How long is your table? Something tells me I will have to get a longer table because mine is 39 inches

Does this tv have 4k up scaling?
In regards to inverting the legs, I know you did it but did it involve any extra steps or tools etc? Or was it simply just inverting them and then screwing them in? I've seen conflticing info...some people say it can't be done but you seem to prove them wrong. I just want to know if it's complicated and on your opinion is it sturdy and supportive enough?
Dominic Serva There is nothing special or special tools needed, all you need is a screwdriver and flip the legs, each leg has 2 screws and they assemble perfectly fine, they are not loose, the tv sits firm with no problems at all.
