    I bought it and I do not have a problem with the audio, it is not symphony hall quality but neither is any other flat screen even at twice the price. If you want loud theater quality bass buy a soundbar. It is quite an impressive image for the price.

    A lot of people fail to mention this, and this goes for most TVs. As far as the wide legs this TV and most TVs come with these days, you need a table almost as long as the TV. You can buy a universal center stand that connects to the VESA mount setup. The VESA mount is mainly used for wall mounting TVs, but you can also buy a universal center stand that connects to this VESA mount. Check on amazon for “TV center stands”. You can probably buy at BestBuy or similar stores as well. Just check and make sure you buy one that fits within your TVs size. With this center stand you can buy a much larger TV than your current table size. I don’t understand these wide leg setups. Not only are they ugly, but they require such large entertainment furniture.

    I’m buying this tv for my new place, and I’m defiantly buying the 3 year warranty, my main tv is a 2016 65KS9000. That’ll be in the living room... can’t wait for Dolby vision in a pitch black bedroom with bias lighting. 🙏🏻

    Just bought it about a week ago as we finally upgraded from 10 year old LED Samsung TV (that actually had a dead pixel defect 5 or 6 years back and had to drop $100 on the part at the time.) The clarity is a huge upgrade, 4k movies with HDR are hard to beat compared to the old, the motion smoothness is really great too. I haven't played much video games since but I turned it on and did a few minutes as we had bought a 65" 4 series prior and returned it for this tv. We plugged in both side by side and put on Blue planet and couple other shows and video games to compare before deciding. We miss the 65" size but did not want to put down the extra $400 on the TCL 65" 6 series. I figured if we want a 65" we are better off waiting till there is good price for OLED type as in store those just seemed like the end all for tvs, when they get refersh rates up to 240hz in 4k on those you will probably never see anything better which is why the price probably won't go too much down on them but when they are like $1,500 I would consider. The 6 series had better color and not every scene showed it, sometimes the contrast seemed greater on the 4 series which made it appear better however we determined that the color and contrast across the board for the 4 series was likely worse as it was overcompensating (sometimes looks "better" sometimes worse) and trying to make the image better while the 6 series could deliver more natural complex color gamuts and better HDR with it's dimming zones. Both tvs are pretty good though for the price. You get a $1,200 TV for a $500-600 price tag. Ours does not have the banding but we got 2 years insurance for $70 to make sure it doesn't as well. Get it on sale and get coverage while it might make it more like normal price you help cover the fact that you are getting a tv that is cheaper but pushing specs for more way more money and making sure it works and you'll still be half price for the same quality. Also Roku is a dream when you figure it all out. You get themes, you can search for an actor or actress or a movie across all platforms in a single search and it will show you all their content and free and paid for options in netflix, hulu, sling tv, or show you the free stuff roku or other channels has to offer within some of those apps. it simplifies it better than anything else ever could.

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment! I'm in the same boat as you, I want a 65" but I'd rather get an OLED so I decided to go for the 55" TCL instead of the 65".
      I like the Roku TV menus system overall. I wish the actual TV menu system (for setting picture quality, audio, etc.) was a little more traditional but as you said that is something each person has to grow accustom to.

      @@HomeTheaterHobbyist I'm curious to see if TCL will get into the OLED market in a few years, however I think Roku aside we would all probably still prefer a Samsung, Sony or LG product as they just seem to really deliver. Also OLEDs are technically very cheap to produce in large scale compared to LCD but more expensive right now due to the fact it is relatively new.. Apple has dumped a lot of money into LG to produce more manufacturing facilities for OLED so we could see a price drop within 5 years.

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  5 лет назад

      A significant price drop would be welcomed. I'm planning to get a 65" LG oled but I really want the 77", but it is way out of my price range at the moment.

      The Vizio has better motion resolution (screen refresh rate) so if Gameplay is important go Vizio. The only other downside of the TCL is the panel issue that I mentioned. So if either of those things is important/concern go Vizio otherwise save a few bucks and pick up the TCL.

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  5 лет назад

      In a lot of ways it does compare to more expensive models from other brands. TCL does cut cost in other areas such as number of hdmi inputs and 60 Hz panel vs. 120hz in some other competitors.

    • @josephrothberg2563
      @josephrothberg2563 5 лет назад

      Yes. It’s a massive upgrade over the 5 series, so definitely the 4 series. It’s FALD is way better, although it’s FALD is a weak spot compared to higher end models. Brightness is the major upgrade here. Nothing in it’s price point comes close to matching it. Brightness is critical for great HDR. Although HDR is not as good as my Sony Z9D, HDR is pretty damn good on this TCL, especially at its price point. This TV cost me over $2000 less then the Z9D. Highly recommend this 6 series over the 5 and 4 series, and definitely worth the extra cash.

      @@HomeTheaterHobbyist You can always get a switcher but its a pain in the ass. I had to get one because only HDMI 1 does UHD on my TV. But I'm in the market for a new one because I need good HDR and a better TV for sports. The only reason I may not get this one is I need a 120hz panel for watching sports. I get a lot of judder now. What do you think about the Vizio P series?

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the advice. I think the Vizio P series is a great tv although I haven’t review it. I have a Vizio that’s several years old and we haven’t had any problems with it. If you’re worried about motion resolution and sports I’d definitely go with the Vizio over the TCL because a TV is a multi year investment and I personally don’t like having regrets on major purchases. I’ve seen one in the store and it looks excellent but of course that was in store and on torch mode I.e. vivid. I haven’t watched a lot of sports on the TCL but it’s been passable, I still have my plasma so if sports becomes unwatchable I’ll shift back to the plasma. If you get the P series let me know what you think. Happy Holidays!

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  4 года назад

      I'm partial to TCL. I have an older Vizio M series so I have some experience with Vizio. The TCL is built on the Roku platform so you're more likely to get the latest apps (such as Disney + when it launched) vs. some of its competitors. Develops are more likely to write apps and keep them up to date for larger parts of the market. Now this isn't to say Vizio is a small player but I'd be a little more worried about the built in apps staying current and getting the latest apps.
