    Jerry Douglas is guitarted. Like a savant when it comes to the resonator. Unquestionably the best on Earth...

    I'm not as steeped in blue grass as much as some. But I tell ya what, this song is flippin' amazing. Instead of country turning pop, it needs to head back in this direction!

      I agree country needs to head back for sure. Seems to have lost its way.

    Jesus christ...
    As a person who has never even really considered listening to country, or country related genres, I can say this is one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen.

      Because it's not about all of those bro-country topics (you know them well), and it it's played without any electric intervention.

      Daniel, welcome the wonderful world of Union Station led by the lovely Alison Krauss… They are one of the best bands in the world regardless of genre. While they have some of the world's best performers in Jerry Douglas and Alison Krauss, it is their dedication to working seamlessly together to create music like no one else. If you ever get the chance to see them live absolutely take that chance as it will instantly be one of the best musical night's of your life.

      @Ralph Indigo: I don't think hats have a whole hell of a lot to do with it. I've seen some damn good performers wearing old slouch hats. If you were a balding, middle aged man in front of ten-thousand people watching your every move, you'd wear a hat as well.

    I have been an avid listener of all types of music from John Denver to Heavy Metal and everything in between throughout the course of my life. I have played in a rock n roll band, played numerous instruments, DJ'd and have seen my fair share of live concerts
    No song, I REPEAT, NO SONG, has moved me like this tune. Goose Bumps on my Goose Bumps. The energy and talent is oh so sweet.
    And I have to say I'm one lucky man, My wife could be Allison's stunt double.

    Performance and live recording don't come better than this.
    Daniele Roger, dobro (resonator guitar) tuning can vary a lot. The first part is in D natural minor, and the second part in D major. I'm guessing his first dobro was in D natural minor and the second (when he switches instruments) in D major. Jerry Douglas could probably tune it in B flat and still play that tune just like that. He's a master.

    • @littlebeartoe
      @littlebeartoe 9 лет назад +1

      Little Beartoe Uh, sorry. First part in D major; second in D minor.
