Hoping you figured it out by now but if not I didn't have it either after updating so I played in the settings section on my own. I went to settings> sounds>All sound devices>speakers. Under output settings I turned the volume up. Then I clicked the test button and that was it for me. I can hear all my videos.

I have been fighting this laptop for months searching for the right fix, only to give up cuz, it was no help. I had what volumes I could find on full blast, but, still didnt help with most of the videos. Thanks to you, I can now enjoy all those videos I just wouldnt watch, cuz, I couldn't hear them. 😁
The newest updates no longer have the "enhancements" tab, now u have to go to the "levels" tab and turn up the audio output level (literally turn up the volume that your laptop is giving your speaker) defualt is only around 50%
If the volume mixer is full, it's very hard to make a noticeable difference. If you want to do it on for videos, RUclips ect chrome. Go to extentions and download volume booster, your welcome 🙂
I am familiar with those instructions you provided, there was some increase in the volume, however not nearly anywhere close to normal. I have no problem with a headset nor when I have a wireless connection to my TV. I'm speaking of the sound from the TV. I've tried advice from others, I'm at a point that I'm willing to spend the money to buy replacement speakers, fortunately they're not expensive. Do you have any more thoughts?
One tip go to sound settings from control panel go to communications click on do nothing than ,than click on sound properties than go to advance than disable the option of ENABLE AUDIO ENHANCEMENTS (it really worked foe me)

For people doing this for Windows 10 dont bother because you wont have the Enhancements button

For me, checking enhanced sound increased my volume 50% at least. Everyone says to turn it off... but it had the opposite effect for me.
