  • Kenyan President William Ruto on Friday announced several government measures which will be implemented soon with the objective of cutting national spending by over 177 billion shillings (approximately $1,380 billion) in the fiscal year that started in July. This was a response to a series of youth led nationwide protests as demonstrators demanded better governance and the East African leader’s resignation.
