Italians embrace government efforts to curb illegal migration

  • Italians based in the island of Lampedusa have welcomed government-led attempts to prevent increasing illegal migration by people crossing the Mediterranean from Africa - a plan which analysts say if executed well could serve as a model for all European nations.
