I love his character because Imo, he’s the most adaptable character in all of fiction. The youngest flying Grayson, Robin, Red robin, Nightwing, Renegade, Agent 37, Batman, Talon, Stripper Grayson(Jk, didn’t mean to remind anyone) you can change him into anyone of these characters from the get go and he still works. His story is inspirational and great tbh As Robin, he’s immature and goofy. As Nightwing, He’s far more mature with a seriousness to him that he can be his own hero, but he can still keep that naïveté in a charming side. As Batman, There’s two ways you could go about it that works, ofc if you’ve read them you’d know. As Talon, his bloodlust and rage that’s hinted at through out his run just works. He was supposed to be one before anything else after all… And so on.. But he works best as Nightwing, heart of DC.
Robin first appeared in the comics in 1940, it was less than a year after Batman himself debuted. The adult nerds who read comics in the 60s hadn't even been born when Robin first came out.
Yes, Robin was introduced just in the 38th issue of detective comics, but also according to almost every single source surrounding the creation of the character his inclusion into the Batman comic & Mythos was for the primary purpose of attracting younger audiences to Batman, as (even early) DC seemed to be dissatisfied with the audience that was buying the books and wanted to skew younger

Young Justice is what got me into knowing Dick Grayson as a character. Glad to see it represented here as well. Great stuff K
Same, between that & the OG TT & even Batman the Animated Series, I was just hooked on his character

Agreed they definitely wanted more readers who were younger, and Dick Grayson is the best. I was just being pedantic about the year.
