I’m a Mopar man through and through. But if you guys install this engine in a single cab short bed truck. I will be a game changer and I promise you I would buy one!
The gas mileage is bad so it's not gonna happen. 13 mpg in a 2017 Silverado standard bed crew cab with 10l80 trans. I could probably get 16 tops average
With the LS427/570 going the way of the dodo it's nice to see some large capacity high performance crate engines still coming from GM. This is an impressive engine with the L8P producing some nice HP/TQ numbers with an extremely strong bottom end well suited to boosted applications. With the block also available from Chevrolet performance. Trump won't like the made in Mexico label... 😎🇦🇺👍
ls7 lifters… all non afm gm lifters are “ls7” lifters theyre only called that because that style was originally ised in the ls7 but they have since used them on everything non afm
these engines are cast iron blocks that are not machined for any DoD or AFM lifter functionality, so there's no need for any deleting of it as far as I understand.
GM. How about building some 4 door rear wheel drive cars again so I can install this motor !!! Bring back the Chevy Caprice or Buick Skylark. These two cars can be built on the same chassis and share the same parts. Just change the outer sheet metal.
You are incorrect buddy. The Chevy SS was an imported Australian car, not a North American made GM car. Also the Chevy SS was never advertised and extremely overpriced. During that time period, the Chevy Malibu’s look was based off of that Holden car. So when people saw the SS on the road, the average person thought it was a Malibu not knowing what it was. This is the same for the Caprice PPV that was never released to the general public, it was an imported car.
Okay. Deep breath. Is the Chevy SS NOT a 4 door, V8 powered, General Motors product sold in North American markets? (I know you’re hung up on Holden, but that’s a GM) Who cared where it’s built? Do you really think all of the middle aged women who made out well in their divorce give two shits that their new car came from Bendigo instead of Bowling Green? The fact that it wasn’t marketed well, in my opinion, Is because they were trying to sneak it into the market. Why you ask? To allow collectors to be able to get their hands on them, without the PR siren going off. My opinion. The more likely reason for lack of marketing is that they had their heads all the way up their asses, like past their chin. You say it’s overpriced, but relative to what? I can afford one, so it’s not overpriced. So it looks like a Malibu, but what P.O.S. GM product hasn’t for the last 15 years? A splash of chrome over a cheesy plastic bumper… I bet they said, “Boys, we’re gonna get bonuses for this!” The Chevy SS is literally everything you asked for in your previous comment. Asking GM to make a new Buick skylark or Caprice is like telling Ford to make an f150 Ecoboost not blow up every 50,000 miles, it ain’t gonna happen.
YESSSS more unapologetic v8 offerings PLEASE! Way to go GM.
L8P
523 HP @ 5,800 RPM
543 LB-FT TORQUE
Absolute monster
Bring back the Lt5
Bring back the twin turbo 5.5l Blackwing
Too bad the last 6th gen Camaro did not have a LT5.

😎🇦🇺👍
How about making to put it in my 2019 Z71
Notice the “made in Mexico” label next to the throttle body… unbelievable 😂
Does this engine still able to use its VVT?
Will a set of LS3 heads bolt on the short block? 🤔
I would love to put this in my 78 Trans am
How much would it cost to have this installed in a 03 2500 at the dealer ? Would they even work on a truck that old
My Heart was set on the LS-7 with dry sump oiling.
LT7 🤞
Will it fit in a C6 corvette?
✨❤✨
hopefully it has good lifters in it.

💯💯💯💯💯
I wonder how this would feel in a 6 gen camaro...it makes more power and torque than the Gen 5 LT1 which is also a great engine.
Give all those raptors a run
Can I eventually swap this into my CT5🤨
How much is the price they haven say it ? 😢
Around 9k
Direct injected?
Know one wants that in performance build.
The rumored motor for the Corvette GS coming?
Why would you leave the giant Mexico sticker on the top?
Why not?
Why does Chevrolet still uses 2 valve push rod engines?
Lol
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Doesn’t Ford outsell the Chevrolet two to one for commercial applications?
Sure.. and Chevy outsells dodge 4 to 1..
For all those chevy getting rid of v8,s folks..they can just sell you the v8 and not the car...

They did that and no one bought it. Most people don’t even know what a Chevy SS is.

cadillac
They market crate engines better than their cars. It is so stupid to give the Cadillac and Corvette all the publicity.
= 💯😍💯😍💯😍💯😍💯
Coyote is 480hp with 5 liters
That’s what I was thinking.100” less displacement and only 40hp less. You can gain that much on a tune only.
In a MUCH narrower power band. Peak hp is so misleading.
torque, maintenance, longevity
Drop that in a Chevy Volt.
Bring back a stronger CEO GM, your current pick will ruin your company. Pay attention America before you lose the legacy of American muscle cars.
Looks like the Ford Godzilla to me.
With a Mexico sticker right on top. What happened to made in America 🇺🇲
made in North America lol
Yeah you didn't really say anything oh it's better neat the F.
