Hey, as a child of the 90’s I’m just glad they aren’t just slapping “SPORT” on every men’s product.
I’ll wait for this one to hit the discounter’s. I rarely buy full retail price these days. I did make an exception for Y edp intense though which I absolutely love.

Got this in yesterday. It definitely smells better on skin. I feel like the vanilla and incense make it too heavy to wear on a high heat day. I'm going to have to wear this a few times to decide if I really like it or not. There's a note in there that I feel throws the whole scent off.

You're 100% correct about the opening, its amazing then its gone but there is still a nice vanilla drydown there. Lovely fragrance.
Would be far better if the opening remained for the duration. A much better scent at the start.
I'm not much of a well-informed fragrance enthusiast, but for me, the grapefruit is still there in the scent an hour later. Though it's barely there, in my opinion.
Longevity? Performance? Sillage?
Just some info on the GC, it basically evaporates the sample and separates the parts by their boiling points, and from the graph that is makes you can also determine the percent composition
I bought Carbon and Ocean at the same time. Love both. My wife liked Ocean on me. I also just picked up Society and love that ones as well. I am starting to wonder if these companies are shying away from listing Iris as a note in the breakdown. When it’s described as “Lipsticky” I think that might scare some people away…maybe. When it comes to Iris, initially I wasn’t a fan, but now I have grown to love it. I think Reserve Privee did it for me as well as Prada L’Homme. Great video as always Ash and I am looking forward to this release.

I'm actually glad to hear it, the Iris on Prada L'Homme is more soapy and clean and I quite like it, however I got Reserve Privee last month (Blind Buy) and I have to say I haven't quite gotten used to the Lipsticky Iris in there, sometimes I feel like that's all I can smeel. Anyways, hope it'll grow on me aswell.
I bought both Black and Ocean at the same time and I’m liking Black a little more.
As far as that plastic cap, you know somebody somewhere tried it with it on. That's why they put "remove before use" on it.🙂

I'm just going to wait for Deep Ocean EDP, Luna Rossa Ocean Lunar Mare, Ocean Mare Nostrum, and the long awaited Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Ocean: Black Edition. That one is going to be a banger.

I've had this for a couple weeks now. It's a lot different than the EDT. You definitely smell the incense, and the vanilla is prominent in this one. But you also still get some of that iris and caramel. Darker, spicier, creamier. The grapefruit top is so freaking brief before it' starts going into that darker direction. Just be ready to expect a much different fragrance than the EDT. It actually lasts too. You could still smell on yourself the next day.

Went for a sniff test today - definitely smelt the vanilla first note - will probably purchase it
So I tested this once at macy and was kinda shocked it was an ocean edp smelled closer to black but still loved it. Then tried the edp at sephora and it was COMPLETELY different so idk if it batch variation but it was like a completely different scent.
Designer fragrances market has went crazy with prices. $120 for a designer is insane. I’ll wait until it goes to discounters.
This is nothing new. If you account for inflation, the prices haven't changed much over the last decade or two.

Based on current inflation rates you’re still looking at $110-118 range at discounters.
@@DrRDW I work for a well known company, we own many subsidiaries and I can guarantee you that the prices keep rising… not even a couple of times a year now, it’s becoming a a monthly increase. Not just slight increases, £86 to £105! It’s worrying.

I'm just hoping to see if the projection is stronger along with a longer lasting life span. Prada Ocean never lasted longer than 3 hours

I’m actually happy u said the thing about the clone house. I never knew how they did it. I took guesses and I knew some had the machine that did it but I thought a lot used ingrendient lists and perfumers
Between all my Iris frags, Prada’s LR Ocean EDT receives the most compliments. Yeah it beats DH (original), DHI, DHP, Prada’s L’homme line, Givenchy Gentlemen line, you name it.
Disappointed not to see a dedicated iris note (really this is Prada after all). But glad to hear that the iris is still there even if it’s just a little bit and not officially listed.
I wonder if it’s a marketing ploy because of the love/hate relationship for iris in the North American market. You know how fragrances for women are referred to as perfume while those for men are called colognes. Or anything floral is feminine. 😂
Which is why I suspect Dior Homme 2020 was reformulated. While the original DH is still available as original in European markets. Recently ran into a wild bottle of DHI in Japan at a Dior kiosk so I had to buy it. Interestingly enough I saw the salesperson literature and DHI is described as a woody amber fragrance(…what?).
An iris accord is in the EDT and I suspect the same for EDP. I do feel the designer houses are moving away from actually using orris butter because of costs.

Are the 3 Notes that companies are showing on flankers just the three they have added to the original blend.
Flankers are definitely endless it seems, but I really wish Versace would do a flanker of Versace Dylan Blue eau de parfum, not as chemically with a little better quality. I love Dylan Blue, but it almost seems like it's missing a little more depth. Maybe add a slight creaminess to it, similar to the Chanel Allure homme Sport line.
is the bottom part of the bottle solid or is there also volume for parfum?

Just got the Ocean EDT late last year and while it is nice, it's not blowing my mind.
The way you described the EDP reminds me of how Dior made Fahrenheit Parfum as more of a vanilla-heavy Fahrenheit that is smoother and sweeter.
I'm excited to try the Luna Rossa Ocean EDP. I hope it will be launched here soon.
Has Fahrenheit Parfum been discontinued? I haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere for months now.

honestly i wore it summer it did not last. but its fall weather in cali. i wore it and i gotta say it lasted almost 8 to 9 hours. definitely a fall scent
Seems like we’re hardly going to get any new releases this year at all, designer wise. Just going to be all elixir/Parfum/EDP flankers for the most part I assume.

I hate how my LR Carbon has a loose collar around the atomizer that causes it to block the spray pretty easily

I get this smelling like a light givenchy gentleman boisee but more vanilla leaning and not as musky but definitely woody in a way

Can someone compare the two? For example, if someone new fragrances and came up to you and smelled you, would they be able to distinguish the parfum and toilette? Basically are they flankers of each other or almost like different colognes.
Sounds like they moved the vanilla over from the discontinued Prada Luna Rossa Sport to the Ocean edp

I have the Ocean EDP and I love it. However, I think the name Ocean is misconceiving, it doesn't really give that salty ocean scent vibe. Like what Ash said, it has more of a vanilla creaminess very similar to Zadig & Voltaire This is Him in the mid notes. You would think it's a blue freshie fragrance but it's really not. If anything, I think Acqua Di Gio Profondo reminds me more of the ocean than Prada Luna Rossa Ocean EDP.
Gone is the days where with colognes the edt , edp and parfum where the same scent just stronger and longer lasting now each one is a different scent making it harder to choose

I just got a tester of Luna Rossa ocean and it smelt familiar. Then I realized it reminds me of Venetian by Armaf.
Whenever Prada drops their Luna Rossa Carbon EDP/Exlixr, things are gonna be crazy
Best Prada of all time is Prada lhomme Intense. Don't need any other one.
So I was kinda let down. Tbf I only smelt it once but it’s didn’t last very well on my skin, it’s darker, richer, less fresh, less blue sweet but more creamy sweet….but none of the notes in the dry down really standout which might be why I don’t enjoy it so much. It’s weaker and overall I enjoy the ogs smell better. But I might need to get my nose on it more

Prada ocean edt version is much more richer than edp perfume version and edt performance is also not so bad. Perfume version is initially fruity but after 20-30 minutes vanilla be more dominant perfume version heavier than edt and not suitable for hot summer maybe at nights can be but not bad definitely need to wait 15-20 minutes be come more sophisticate

My question to you all is how much should a designer cost? What would be a fair price?
A thing is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, that doesn’t mean we can’t grouse about it. In my day, you could buy a hot dog for a nickel!
I blind bought this because I am a Prada fan boy but I can't stand the vanilla in this. It smells like a candle or feminine lotion. To be fair, I am usually not a fan of vanilla in mens fragrances, but I can handle it in Armani Code Absolu. I still prefer Ocean EDT and wish they had kept iris the focus, the vanilla overpowers here. I think the EDT would be absolutely amazing if they had enhanced the iris and lavender.
The original Luna Rosa Ocean does not last that long on my skin. It is gone after 45 minutes, even from my clothes. The smell is not that great in my opinion. I am curious about this new release.

I have both and you cant go wrong with either to be honest . I Personally would go with the Eau De Parfum because it last longer on your skin and clothes.

I have both and like the EDT much better. Not a fan of the EDP, the Musky smell is not great at least to me. I like the vanilla but the musky smell kills it.
it's the year of the EDP's lol... going to definetly give this one a whirl, I like the EDT but with the grapefruit and insense in this one it seems like they are trying to take a page from chanel
how long does it last?
I personally get around 6-8 hours but it depends on how well it takes to your skin chemistry. I also find if you spray just a little more on yourself you will get more bang for the buck.
Jet black enigma and terra nova are not the best at all but you know everyone has there own things
Should I get this over the edt as a teen?
Haven't smelled this but the EDT is quite a manly, blue scent. Very grown up, not really targeted to teens. I wouldn't even wear it unless you were 45+.
