Just hit my doorstep 30 mins ago and I’m glad I blind bought it instead of finally coming around to the EDT. Idk if it’s my nose or the mix of my lotion & Ocean EDP but it’s giving me a little Layton-esque feel. Definitely a win either way. Can be a signature scent or replace Prada Black during the warmer weather.
Love this stuff so much more than anything else in the Luna Rosa lineup, super versatile and elegant juice! This stuff plays so well for any occasion and I absolutely adore it!
FINALLY, a good 2023 designer release. I'm relieved as I love the Luna Rossa range but was underwhelmed by Ocean EDT. It has improved over time but I agree with your assessment that it always felt unfinished. Unfortunately the EDP is not yet available in the UK but hopefully that will soon change.
@@DarkHorseDanny don't tell anyone but it's much better than the EDT. It's much darker and spicier while still being very wearable. It's a lot longer lasting too. The only con would be that it's slightly less versatile since the EDT because of it being darker. He makes it sound in the video that it's similar. It's not. It's pretty different than the EDT.

@@MarkTomeh I think I detailed the similarities and differences pretty apparently - if something is stated to be "better" - then the similarities end at a certain point, right? It's an obvious flanker though, to my nose anyway - It's clearly a true EDP, and not a different scent profile, in the way that say...Polo Red EDP is a completely different profile than Polo Red.
@@StudioScents I found it to be quite different than the EDT actually. To me a true EDP is when it's the same scent just with a higher oil concentration. An example of this would be The One EDT and EDP. With Ocean it's kinda different to me with vanilla and incense dialed up. But I see what you mean it's not quite as stark as some of those flankers where it's an entirely different scent.
I love the original gonna be hard to beat . Your nose has not done me wrong yet have bought some blind buys because of it. The price is not that bad. Great video sir thanks.

This was such a sneaky release. I love the luna rossa line so I had to grab this one. It just got delivered today and after 1 wearing I have to admit I'm very happy with it. Definitely pick up a heavier emphasis on the leather/suede note like you said. Its definitely a deeper more well rounded fragrance. But I think the edt still has its place, especially on a hotter day
Seems like the general concensus is that this is the one to buy. I seem to prefer the og edt though. They're very different to my nose. That said, this one is probably the more crowd pleasing!

I was able to pick up--and I'm sure a lot of other guys did too--Prada, Luna Rosa Black at Burlington a couple of years ago. I would guess that Prada was unloading it into the rack stores.
Had no idea this was even a thing, cant find anything on this in search either. It sounds great, i wasnt super impressed with the EDT but after my experience with Bleu de chanel EDT (its ok) vs EDP (one of my favs) i am excited to try this.
I had a strange issue with the first Luna Rossa Ocean EDT. I could barely smell it at all, either from a full bottle or from a sample. I think maybe there is something in it that my nose cannot read or goes blind too. I also have Luna Rossa and Luna Rossa Carbon- I can smell those all day and night. But I couldn't get Ocean to work. I'll see if I can try the EDP!
After you shower, put on fragrance free lotion and Vaseline on the areas that you spray! I wore this to work and I am a server and 6 hours later people still smelled it on me when I was outside on the patio! I got about 8 hours.
Thank you for this review! I have the edt and love it, just about out. Got the 50 ml because they did not carry the larger size at the time. The longevity and performance was the only downside for me. Looking forward to this one !
I have the Ocean EDP and I love it. However, I think the name Ocean is misconceiving, it doesn't give that salty ocean scent vibe. You would think it's a blue freshie fragrance but instead it has more of vanilla creaminess, very similar to Zadig & Voltaire This is Him. If anything, I think Acqua Di Gio Profondo reminds me more of the ocean than Prada Luna Rossa Ocean EDP.
Its wierd just bought this one and I i'm having a hard time smelling this one. Like I can hardly smell anything but a tiny bit og gin ish alcohol and vanilla. This is very wierd.
Have you watched any uploads by Fragrance DOUD? He gets really nasty with people if someone says something like “Studio Scents has just uploaded a review for Prada’s new release”. Had to block him in the end after he kept making subtle digs targeted at Chaos and Gents Scents 🤦🏽♂️

@@Cooliewhistles I think there was a disagreement with affiliate links (FragDOUD commented on a few of Chaos’s posts) He then said he’s ripping his customers off by ‘not’ telling them that he may get commission if a customer decides to purchase… Chaos states at the bottom of the listings that “I may get commission if you decide to purchase using my links” - I don’t think FragDOUD takes criticism very well, he’s very sensitive. 1st World problems 😂

Apparently these designer's are getting frustrated by clone companies getting very good at duplicating and want to make them work for it by Listing as few notes as possible while the rest are kind of a mystery... I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with some type of scientific lab device that will tell you what the ingredients are just by scanning a sample of it...
@@loftus5073 Sorry to hear that! Maybe the sample was tainted or hadn't macerated yet - perhaps try a tester - some dept stores (our behind-the-times Mall here does) still have black sitting out
Has zero aquatic feel to it. Strange that they would call it Ocean. To my nose, it is simply a very sweet and warm vanilla scent. Reminiscent of Dior Homme Intense.
is it me or are there more and more of these stealth releases? grey vetiver parfum being another example, or that green montblanc tonic flanker (I forgot the exact name).
If I want to have fragrance with fresh scents (bit citrusy is ok) for office or for take a walk in the mall, have good or moderate projection (I don't mind respray for longevity) which one that you recommend: original luna rossa, ocean edt or ocean edp. Or other flankers? Thanks a lot
Usually fresh/green scents have been my thing but this thing here is different. It's still fresh enough to be considered as such but the upside is abnormal. I've tried most of the most popular fragrances out there,nothing gives me brain trip like this one,imagine how negative would be to have a brain stroke,now this is the complete opposite. It literally takes you on a trip for a few seconds. Respraying shouldnt be a problem,this one lastes longer too.
Damn, wish they made a Parfum of Prada Luna Rossa Black instead, IMO Ocean is the worst Luna Rossa. Still will try and smell this one though since it seems to have added what I felt was missing from the original
Sweet! My decant of the edt has about 1 wearing left. I came really close to blind ordering LUNA Rossa Sport last week but someone said that it’s fairly similar to LaMale Le Parfum that I already own, so I think Ocean might take that spot on the soon to buy list.
I recently got Bleu Noir EDP and I love it. You need to over spray a bit for stronger projection but I get a solid 7 hours of longevity. The scent profile is fresh, a bit citrusy, and masculine at the same time with the ebony wood. It’s my go-to bleu and my wife loves it. Real people pleaser without being candy sweet and at a great price point. More bang for your buck that with PLRO EDP.
I’m actually wearing the original ocean today! I like this one but I don’t think I’ll bother with the EDP. I have a ton of blue fragrances so it would be redundant in my collection.

I think this is Prada's Bleu de Chanel / sauvage line. We might see the ocean line go all the way up to elixer definitely probably parfum

Probably gotta give it time to macerate, remember it's a brand new release and the batch is basically a few months old
Always gets better over time, my Sauvage EDP would last couple hrs at first. A few months later 12+
For me it is the contrary, edp gets me 8 hours the edt 5 hours, amazing new release.

@@macadonis9242 yes I really love it, addictive smell. I do overspray, 8-10 for work which I normally don’t do. That’s why I ran out so fast lol.

Gas chromatography is used for this I believe

Black is amazing.
I'd suggest trying a sample 1st, I listened to the positive reviews and hated it, something in the dry down seemed stagnant.
Even though it's discontinued it's all over Prada's website - which is odd. I actually enjoy black better than Carbon.

People say weird stuff. Those are two totally different fragrances.

The luna rossa caps aren't really meant to be caps, you can really just throw it away but I keep mine just in case i decide to travel with it
EDT is way better. The Iris and phony vanilla smell in the dry down is terrible.

The Weaker EDP versiom. Edt is longer lasting and unique
