I keep a donation box in the garage and put stuff in it all the time with the understanding that I may take it back if I find I miss it. Once a season I take the box to charity shop. Maybe once or twice a year I take something back out of the box. It works for me because it's out of sight but I have the option to regret decluttering it.

I found that during decluttering or in the early stages of organizing an area, it helps me a lot to just write on and stick a piece of frog tape onto bins, drawers etc., because you can easily change stuff around when you realize you need a bigger bin for x or divide y into two categories etc. Only when a system is working well for a period I'll make an actual label for it.

Everybody below my comment got a thumbs-up from me. I come from a family of 11 people and I'm the youngest born in 1963, we all had chores to do when we got home from school along with throughout the summer, seemed simple to me and made sense. Kallie your daughter licking the toast, reminded me of my own kids doing that when I helped them get dressed. Signed a divorced male who raised his own kids without help.

I have a double dresser in our downstairs laundry room where I keep my 2 kids' clothes. Each kid gets a side. I sit on a stool by the machines, fold their clothes and immediately put them away. They get showers downstairs in the primary bathroom (which is just around the corner). Just makes sense to have what they usually wear down there too.

Idk which video it was, but you posted it more recently about putting things away poorly is better than not putting it away at all and I think that has saved my ACTUAL sanity as a new mom!!! Another tip that really helps me is not leaving a room empty handed so I constantly stay in a state of decluttering 🙏🏽

I need to thank you, Kallie. A few weeks ago, you inspired me to institute the clean sink hack. It spilled over to my dining room table, and not only have I maintained that, I started working on my (truly frightening) upstairs bathroom. I'm taking small steps because my work life is currently out of control (I run a startup medical microbiology lab for a major healthcare system), but it has made a difference not just in my home, but in my mental state. Thank you for the tips and the inspiration! ❤

"Store it where you use it" has been really helpful. I was so tired of running upstairs to the closet for towels and back downstairs to put them in the washroom almost every day. I now keep a small bin near the washroom to hold towels.

I would like to add that home layout is a factor in laundry routine. When my washer was in a place that I walked past it a thousand times a day, I easily stayed on top of washing and drying. When it’s on the other end of the house, it takes more intentionality.

An easy tip for all the cords, I found the dollar store has clear pencil cases. I got 2 of those and labeled one as “Apple chargers” and one as “android” to make it easy for me, then I just wrap my cords up so they don’t get tangled and keep all my spares in those cases so they don’t get tangled and are easy to find

High 5 for teaching your children to do laundry and making them responsible for it. My son is now over 40. It was just the 2 of us (his father wimped out when our son was barely 3 yrs old), and I was a working mom. I taught my son how to operate the washer & dryer and do his own laundry when he was 10. Years later, when he came home for a visit during his first year away at college, he casually mentioned that there were kids at school who were having a really rough time adjusting, mostly because they had never had to do anything for themselves. He specifically mentioned that "some kids have never even done their own laundry". That made me so proud!! ❤

I recently adopted your 2-3x a day flat surface sweep and I'm just immediately happier. I'm always guilty of "I'll come back to this" so my craft stuff is out, my planner stuff is out, my work stuff is out, etc. now I'm doing sweeps a few times a day and loving it.
I wish I had space enough in my kitchen for all the appliances we use daily, like the toaster oven and coffee maker. But I've created a little "zone" for my coffee stuff at least.

I love decanting my spices. Not long ago, I purchased matching containers and labels and reorganized all my spices. I also moved them from a small cabinet (where I couldn't see all of them) to a drawer. It's made it so much easier to see exactly what spices I have. Sometimes I'll go open my spice drawer just to look at it. It makes me so happy to see all of my spices organized and easy to get to.

Thank you for your time in putting this videos out! As far as your overstock items are concerned- if you have purchased items at 3 for $10 -label them with painters tape or your washable labels 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 so you don't forget about the others in the hidden/overstock area and cross out and update the numbers as you pull them out and use them. It's so helpful for me not to forget. 😃😃😃

I'm super lazy, but you've helped me so much with all of your tips where you kind of do something as you're doing something else, or you just take 30 seconds to move things off the kitchen table, etc. Even that one video you made where you said that doing something 50% is better than not at all has helped me actually put my clean laundry away in the drawers lol. They might not be perfectly folded (I'll usually at least roll them so they don't wrinkle lol) and they might still be inside-out, but it's massively improved my efficiency in doing laundry. Instead of having an entire day where I do nonstop laundry because of all the random places it's ended up :P. So thank you for these

Kelly, ❤ your channel! I literally watch it for inspiration while I'm cleaning - like now. I'd like to leave a couple of suggestions I've found helpful. I'm a senior gal, and I fear climbing up on step ladders (NEVER stand on chairs or stools which are not safe.) I find that a "grabber" tool is usually very helpful. Right now, I'm cleaning inside of my kitchen stove vent with Dawn powerwash and Bounty paper towels held by my grabber claw. It's working like magic! Also, if you have a gas stove, use your dishwasher for washing your stove grates and burners. I use my dishwasher for certain knicknacks, glass covers lights, etc. It is great for all kinds of things other than dishes. Have a blessed day!

I also do this to my overstock bins: Take a dry-erase marker and write exactly what you have in that bin on the outside of the bin (write it straight on the bin, or they do have dry-erase stickers you can buy). Then as you use up the overstock, erase that item from the outside of the bin. That way you know what you have in the bin and don't have to dig through the whole bin.

Label makers overwhelm me, because of cost and availability of tapes, batteries, etc. So I got an old fashioned embossing one, the refills are cheap, so easy and so enjoyable and they look pretty.

I have some over stock bins that I use. I have one for the extra condiments. I like to make sure I have an extra of my favorites so I don't run out. I also have one for bathroom stuff. Toothbrushes, deodorant, and razors. Stuff that I get from BJ's or naturally come in multipacks. Makes it easier.

I raised 4 kids..1 boy 3 girls. Oh Man! The clothes on the main floor where the kitchen, and laundry room were, is brilliant!! Doing the girl's hair while they ate, brilliant!! Wish I'd thought of that, imagine how great weekday mornings could have been 😅😢 We all could've avoided therapy as I was a 'Screaming Meemie'. Alas, no RUclips then, just Mom's n Tots to exchange idea's lol
God bless that group, we helped each other avoid murder suicide every GD day!

I need to declutter my cord bucket since we have moved. I did it a few years ago after meaning to for a while. I threw out a cord I needed because it wasn't organized & I didn't know what it went to.😢
