It’s so easy to just keep everything. I m 68 and I recently went through a remodel of my home, I got new flooring so every room in the house was a touched. I sold about 80-100 items, give away about 6 bins of stuff and took stuff to a local donation center. It feels so good to have empty draws and cabinets
Well done you !! 💐
That's incredible!!! 🎉🎉 I love this ❤ (I'm a pro organizer by trade😄)
We did the same thing (total remodel) over five years ago. We got rid of so much and haven’t missed a thing. In fact, I’m still finding items to get rid of now. Decluttering is never-ending. It feels so good. I would guess we’ve had VietNam Vets pick up 5-6 + bags/boxes over 15 times.
Now declutter the furniture. No drawer to hide stuff.
I got rid of my 1991 solid oat side table. It was heavy and chunky. So glad it’s gone.
It is called depression glass because it was often included inside packages of Quaker Oats or other products during the depression of the 1930’s. Women got a free, pretty dish with each purchase and could build a nice set of dishes. These were usually pressed glass pieces in many shapes and colors. They were not meant to be fine dishware but much of it has lasted for nearly 90 years. This is because there was so much of it and because it went out of fashion, so people, like your mom, just stored it away and forgot it. I don’t think it is valuable but it is collectible. Some rare patterns or pieces may have value. If it is uranium glass, the kind that glows under black light, then it is highly collectible.
Some patterns and colors are still manufactured today. It is not all old. Read the article on Wikipedia.
Thanks for helping your mom. It’s wonderful to see you two sharing a task and laughing together.
I had some from my grandmother and just pieces of different colors. Took to an antique store and not worth much money. There was some with a tiny chip and I was told to put in garage sale for a couple of dollars. So you might go to an antique store and see what they will give you. People are always searching for pieces to make a set.
I was told they also gave a piece away at the movies. Don’t know if this was true or not, but my mom or grandma told me this.
Depending on the piece, they can be very valuable. My mother collects pink Depression glass and some of her pieces are upwards of $100-200 per piece due to their rarity.
Uranium glass is poisonous. Pretty but like lead crystal don't put food or drink in it
Idea for your Mom's sea glass collection: maybe for her next birthday or Christmas, you could buy her a pair of matching side table lamps that have an empty glass cylinder for a base (some people fill them with seashells) and fill them with her sea glass collection. If they are too small, buy her four instead of two. Then she could get rid of some outdated lamps and replace them with pretty new seaglass lamps! 🟦🟢🟪🟡
That’s such a lovely idea. You see them every day then and they’re not hidden away. I had some beautiful pebbles I’d collected and I made a little water feature in my garden right by my window where I sit so I can see them. It’s much better they’re on display than hidden away.😊
@@Chrissyhappy That sounds so pretty!
I think helping someone declutter is such a gift.
My grandmother had tons of seashells! We found a hollow glass lamp and filled it with the her shells and she treasured it for years before she passed!! Just an idea for all of her gorgeous sea glass! ❤
this is fantastic bc it is an older house --a real house with real-life clutter with cabinets that are old and don't hold all the cool modern things, and extras wood on the bottom to hide holes--totally get it
Yes, please keep filming your parent’s home declutter. I enjoy them so much.
Your mother is very blessed to have you as a daughter. ❤
Yes, please keep showing us when you're cleaning your parents' home. And, "Well done, mama!" You are rocking the decluttering!
unsure how to find part 1 and 2? cuz alot of videos have similar names.. maybe consider putting them in playlists or giving them cohesive names?
@ ZenDragoonYT there both called hoarders extreme declutter; posted a month ago.. parts1& 2. I agree!😢😮😊
I'm loving this series! You and your mom are killin it. Re: depression glass. I'm not sure just how valuable it is. I've seen it in antique stored for all different prices. As with everything, it's only valuable if you find the right buyer that collects it. I'm aware of it in pink and green. I'm 70.
I love your advice on sentimental items. My husband passed away in 2020 and we have two young kids together. I don’t want them to forget him so I tend to keep a lot of his things. Taking a pic of the item is a great idea❤Thank you🫶🏽
I’m so sorry to hear that 💔 I would do the same thing
Honey, I am so sorry to read that your husband passed away. May God continue to give you the strength you need, everyday. God bless you.
Yes, that clear glassware is depression glass and some of it can be worth quite a bit. You need to do some research and then determine if you want to try and sell it or just get rid of it or keep it. My sister-in-law had three different colors. She had cobalt blue set, the green set and the pink set when she passed away all three of her granddaughters took color. I think it’s extremely sweet of you helping your mom sometimes they can get so bad it’s just overwhelming. I start going through my stuff years ago, and I still have too much stuff, have fun make memories and your mom, and you reap the benefits
Love the series, kudos to your mom for parting with so much!! I know she’s so grateful for your help as this would likely be way too overwhelming for her alone, j know she feels a big weight lifted!!!
Love this series!! Would really like to see more! Also your dad did a great job on the new cabinets, counter, and backsplash. It looks so great!!
The cats must've been napping most of the time you were filming this video. Seems you only had a few visits and only had to remove once or twice. lol Really enjoying this series of videos, helping your mom. Cherish your time together. My mom and dad have been gone a few years now and I miss them so much. Love seeing you two tackle this task and smile and laugh together.
Catherine YES please keep going with helping your parents declutter 🙏🏽 it will really help them and I’m loving it ❤️😉👍🏼🇨🇦

That giveaway table is genius! Wow, that kitchen is chock full😂
Please keep going! This is a very valuable series as it is so relatable. As anyone who has lived somewhere for a length of time, the stuff adds up and can be overwhelming.
Now a days you rarely find sea glass.👍⭐️
Also…wishing full recovery and healing to your mom. These videos are so motivating, PLEASE continue. I’m pretty minimalist but I totally understand the sea glass!
You did a great job! Yes, more parents' declutter!
Yay!! Thank you!
I have been decluttering my house too and I love watching you for more motivation to keep going, thank you for sharing
The sea glass could go in the garden… as a gravel deco or in a pot as deco gravel for a plant…. Or in a bowl…. Ie a deco bird bath….. or in the house in a dry fountain….. just so it’s seen. & enjoyed
Wonderful videos! Your mom's house is just like most houses...we have collected so much! These videos are sooo inspiring!
I love thrifting depression glass pieces - bud vases and such. It’s not high value but there’s definitely a market for it (in New Zealand at least)
So satisfying to see decluttering videos. I need to do the same to my parent's home.
Absolutely love the series. Very satisfying and realistic. Impressed by your mom for letting so many items go. Great team!
Thank you and your mum for sharing. Great job, great daughter!
Please keep sharing your parents house so satisfying to watch the before and after!
Your Mom de-cluttered so much stuff!! I know she's so appreciative of tne help you gave her!! I have enjoyed watching the videos.
what a sweet daughter you are to help your mom like this.
Your Dad did an amazing job! That really made a difference in their kitchen!!!!
Yes the depression glass is worth something
Maybe you could get some shadowboxes and fill them with the seaglass, then tastefully display them on a wall, or shelf. It's beautiful and your Mom loves it, it should be out on display for her to enjoy everytime she sees it.
Very very lovely work done. So satisfying and motivational videos. So many useful tips to give away stuff. God bless you all. Lots of blessings and prayers for you all. Keep up the good work. ❤❤❤❤
Yes, more decluttering there!
The depression glass is pretty popular and collectable. Definitely worth doing some more research!😊
We bought a cheap box of peel and stick floor tile to line the bottoms of our kitchen sink cabinet (and bathroom sinks) that way you can just spray and wipe it out when it’s dirty and it’s not plywood!
Yes love seeing your parents home! I love watching home decluttering!
Yay!! Thank you for watching!’
I’m thinking a good place to put that sea glass is the cabinets above the refrigerator since she isn’t doing anything with it right now. ❤

It looks so good.
I had to watch the other two videos to catch up! Love your moms for babies. Absolutely no judgment, we’ve been in our house 22 years and are already in same boat and in process of decluttering. My one thought is wishing anything plastic would’ve been recycled instead of tossed? Thx for the free give away table idea, we will do the same!💕 Yes…more videos please.
