  • A perfect game day snack that will have you going back for more! Boudin & Crawfish mixed together and formed into balls and then deep fried. Even though I've been eating these for many years, my inspiration to cook these today was a sort of celebration of the New Orleans Saints VS Atlanta Falcons game! Geaux Saints!
    Ingredients
    Boudin 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
    Crawfish tails 1⁄3 Pound
    Eggs 2
    FOR THE EGG WASH
    Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
    Egg 1
    FOR COATING
All purpose flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
    Cayenne To Taste
Bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
    Directions
    GETTING READY
    1. In a bowl, combine boudine, crawfish and eggs. Mix well.
    2. Preapare the egg wash by combining egg and milk, set aside.
    MAKING
    3. Prepare even sized balls with the boudin and crawfish mixture.
    4. Dust each of these balls in flour, then dip in the prepared egg wash and then roll in bread crumbs.
    5. Heat oil in a deep fat fryer and carefully drop the prepared balls in it. Fry until golden brown in color.
    SERVING
    6. Serve as a snack accompanied with a condiment of your choice.

I always wanted to know how to pronounce boudin. I have been calling it BOO DIN. Its BOO DAN! And you can't find it anywhere in South Florida. craw-fish tails are few and far between too! Thanks and this looks great too. Thumbs Up !

I think you're right, Rus. Zatarain's seems to be as close to Cajun as we can get up here. But I'll keep an eye out, these look GUUUD!!!

Although I'm way up in Canada where boudin and crawfish are non-existent I still loved this video because it reminded me of my favourite place on earth: New Orleans. The recipe looks amazing and I'm thinking about how I could adapt it with shrimp and home made boudin which reminds me of a French Canadian dish called cretons. New subscriber - nice to meet you!

I am definitely trying this recipe and my mouth is already watering just thinking about the results. Being from New Orleans, I grew up eating boudin and I am crazy about it. Can’t get it in California so I will be trying my hand a lot at making this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks so much for the comment, and I'm sorry it took so long to reply. Been a crazy week of overtime, and haven't had much time to get on the computer. I love New Orleans too, and I love the culture of south Louisiana. I'm only 80 miles from New Orleans and go there every now and then. Nice to meet you, and thanks so much for subscribing to my channel. Much more coming :D

I was some what hesitant about even posting this video because I knew that both products are not available in many places, and by making the boudin yourself, a simple recipe would then turn into a recipe that would require a lot more work and time, and most people that are able to buy them, already know how to make it, LOL, but perhaps someone can get some use from it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)

Those look really good :) I haven't seen Boudin around here (Western NC) but I will look a little more closely for it next time I'm in the store. I wonder how those would cook on the grill instead of deep frying? Also maybe with a little cheddar added :) Cheers!

Rus, those aren't Louisiana crawfish. It says right on the bag "product of China". The Boudreaux's brand is Chinese. Just thought you'd like to know.

I actually did that a few years ago. This video will show you how to make homemade boudin for making boudin balls or you can stuff them into sausage casings. It's a pretty good recipe too. :) Let me know if Channing likes it. ruclips.net/video/Q2otR_xgALg/видео.html
