@Lee It's not. This was a real incident, the show is called "Laughter File", which is a spin-off of the popular British show "It'll Be Alright on The Night" hosted by Denis Norden. "Laughter File" included real television mistakes and other various "oddities", this video being one of them. The video in question was a real journalistic attempt at exposing a racist on television, but after the misunderstanding, Denis Norden and his crew picked it up and put it in the show.

All this stuff shows us is how utterly gullible and easily and instantly cajoled and drummed up we are about things we in fact know nothing whatsoever about. @@babbisp1I kind of get it I guess. I grew up in a Latino and black community and went to schools where I was the minority. I was beat up a lot and was hurt once pretty bad. I never said anything at all, they just always attacked me and racial comments were always said while it went on. I eventually started standing my ground d and fighting back but still got my butt kicked a lot because I was always outnumbered. With that said, I had a few Latino and black friends throughout that time who treated me like a their friends: I’ve never held a grudge and really love all people, but the reality is there’s racism on every side of the plate.

Had a similar experience having a conversation about pot plants with an American. Turns out the word "pot plant" means something different in the US than it does in New Zealand. We went for a full couple of minutes before we both realized. Conversation went something like this:
US friend: So, do many people have pot plants in New Zealand?
Me: Yeah prettt common, I usually had a few about the house in different rooms.
US Friend: Really!? It's not a problem?
Me: Nah. As long as you keep them watered they're usually good.
US Friend: You're just not the kind of person I pictured having pot plants in the house.
Me: Nah, literally almost everyone has them in New Zealand.
Me to other NZ friend: You ever have any pot plants back in New Zealand?
NZ Friend: Pot plants? I didn't. Mum always had them though.
    US Friend: You're mom?
NZ Friend: Yeah old people love them. Their houses are full of them.
    US Friend: That's crazy.
Me: Why is it crazy? They're just pot plants.
US Friend: It's not legal there though, is it?
    Me and NZ Friend: What???
US Friend: I mean, what happens if the police find out you're growing plants in your house?
Me and NZ Friend have the sudden realization about what he's talking about.
    Me: Oh. You mean marijuana.
    US friend: Yeah?
Me: I thought you meant pot plants like a house plant in a pot.

You'd be surprised, actually. There was this guy in highschool, about one grade older than me. He never really talked about his racist beliefs. Started talking to this guy about Ace Combat, then talked about planes and history, then politics. This was during Obama's presidency, and he revealed he couldn't stand the (then) current president. I asked why, and it was only then that he (described himself as)* "radically racist." Very respectful throughout the whole discussion, although an important note is that he saw white people as being a model for the other races, rather than wanted them wiped out or anything. He was an interesting character, mostly just got that attitude from his family (I later found out his beliefs were far more mild than his mother's, his father I think was in prison so I never got to meet him). Basically his beliefs were very colonial, as opposed to the more eugenic type of racism seen in Nazis. Both are very evil, obviously, but he struck me as confused more than anything.
Unfortunately, I was unable to really understand why he maintained the beliefs he did. Although one thing I did learn is that "racist" is not a personality, it's a belief. Much like how "gay pride" or "anti-racist" is a belief, not a personality. There are certain cultures that flow through it, but a great deal of variety. Can't say I have any respect for the belief, but any person that comes from a racist family that can tone it down at all or otherwise is actively searching for the truth does, even if they haven't discovered the problems with their beliefs yet.

I visit Australia a lot because my family lives there. I'm used to Australian accents. Well, the ones in and around Sydney anyway. One time we drove a few hours out of Sydney for a day trip. We stopped to ask for directions. I stepped out to ask an older gent. He gave me directions. I returned to the car and my uncle asked me what the gent said and I replied, "I don't know." I had no idea what he said as his accent was so thick and incomprehensible. And yes, I'm fluent in English.
