Even worse is that those sites are cheap.. and.. just known by this and much more reasons for being VERY cruel furfarms; Here I'm talking about very small cages, which are never cleaned. Sitting in own poop, having wounds of the cages pushing agains their skin, being with multiple in one cage and biting eachother, having almost no food to spare costs which results in illness and attacking and even eating eachother. We talk here over no care, but being in the cage for months. We talk here about people wrapping ropes around the fox neck, drag it out of his cage and drowning them, beating with a stick to dead, slitting their throat or even skinning them alive. Without any painkillers. Can you buy painkillers in the store for $2? How then can they sell you a fox tail for $2. A fox tail of an animal that needed food for 5+ months, that needed care for 5+ months, that needed painkillers to die painfree.. We can't even buy a bread for 3 days for 2$. Any fox tail underneath 10$ is not to be trusted. Especially not from amazon, aliexpress or wish. Another story: yesterday I received my 'test tail' from wish, and it was litterally broken by receiving it, rotting and sewn together at places a tail shouldn't be sewn. My friend bought a tail from aliexpress for 10$ from magifur/magicfur (don't buy from them! their tails are poor quality) and that tail also arrived smelling badly and being sewn and broken. If you want tail, then turn to Etsy. Etsy has tails from more cruelfree furfarms, from hunt and from roadkill. So a lot better. They're way better quality etc as well. They're more expensive. But know that you're paying for the animals life, not for a product. Oh and, Goodluck with telling others you're a therian. However know that it isn't needed to tell others how you feel. By example, if you know that you're parents will throw you out of your house. Why would you then take that risk just to tell them that you identify as an animal? U will identify as the animal, and probably somewhat behave like it, wheither you tell them about it or not. However for me, everyone knows. And I haven't had negative experiences with it. So goodluck!

To anyone who doesn't have the hair spring things shown in the video you can also use rubber bands! I'd recommend using 2 or 3 incase a few break! and I love this video PD! I've had a tail pulled before and it broke in half (it's fixed now!) and I definitely will be using this method!
This is so helpful!!! I wear my tails to school all the time. Once i heard a classmate say to his friend, "Watch this. It'll be funny." I looked over because i was curious what they were talking about, and next thing I new he had gotten up and yanked my tail. It wasn't damaged at all thankfully, but he got a wild glare from me for the rest of class. Im using this method from now on!
@@K1kir their tails may or may not be real fur, but even then real animal hide products have a much smaller environmental impact than faux fur which shed microplastics.
My friend's younger brothers grabbed my tail once, and it snapped into two pieces. Luckily my Grandma fixed it, but I still need to get a new one because all the fur is coming out.

The phantom tail through the physical tail is so cool! When I get a tail someday I'm going to wear it whenever I get a phantom shift to see if it happens to me, cause that would be an awesome experience!
This is awesome for added security you can reinforce the inside with leather, nylon webbing , or jewelry chain . All you have to do is open up your tail gently and comb the fur away then use hot glue or e6000 to glue your material of choice down the length of tour tail. mine is done with jewelry chain and I use a heavy duty carbine clip to attach it to my clothing. - Alpha Sage

I'm very glad to hear that! Just be carefull, chances still are that it breaks after a while. This makes the chances less and survive longer, but sadly isn't a cure :/ I wish you and your tail the best of luck!

Sadly there was a little metal peice that make the lower clip part stable but it fell off when i was doing quads, was looking for answers here but couldn’t find anything sadly. It falls off often now. Might try the belt trick though. I feel like one of the reasons it broke it because i was wearing it wrong because it was my first tail. I’m trying to get another clip to bypass the issue, but i can’t seem to find anything so far.

This helps out a lot tysm Story: I was at skyzone and I was playing dodgeball, and there were 2 boys behind me, and one of them pulled on my tail, breaking it, the tail itself was fine, but the chain broke, and the part that attached to my pants broke too, thankfully I was able to fix it, but I told staff and they apologized about that and gave me a free icee since they couldn’t really do anything, and the kid got in a lot of trouble, I’m gonna try to make my tail pull-proof for public gearing, I learned my lesson on that haha
Perhaps your pants have a tag on the back? Inside the pants? Tags are often loop shaped, meaning you can attach the tail over therr. Or otherwise your best option is to tie a rope / shoelace / belt around your waist and attach the tail to that. You Can also use a paperclip or safety pin to attach the tail to your pants but if someone pulls, the sharp edges of the pins might damage your pants.

i have a black wolf tail that had to large of a keychain that came with it but i also used to have a fox tail that sadly got ripped up by my friends dog, but i saved the keychain from that tail and used it for my wolf tail and just used a lot of this really strong glue that another friend of mine had that she also uses for her tails. So far it hasn't came off yet after a couple weeks of using it so i think it worked. but your method also looks creative so i might use it for future tails! also i love your depressed chicken :3
I feel so sorry for those who get that done towards them (tail pulling), it truly is immature. Lucky, so far, I have never had my own tails pulled but hey, you can never be too careful!🧡

I made a tail out of a scarf and a lanyard clip. I used a black one since one of my theriotypes is black. I don't wear it in public, but I do wear it when I exercise at home or dance in my home studio. It's durable and stays during that, but I'm not sure how it would hold if my tail were pulled... I do yelp when I accidentally catch my tail in the door and it pulls. It's usually when I don't notice that it surprises me and I yelp.
Hha don't worry I do the same, I hiss (cat cameo shifts) or yelp, peep or squeak when people pull (for fun) my tail or when I get stuck or even hit it against the wall or such. Both because I slightly jumpscare as that happens as because my phantom tail litterally places itself in the IRL tail I'm wearing, making me litterally experience pain through that IRL tal. Hmm I'm curious how one could make a tail out of a scarf, never heard about it before! Tho it sounds very cool :') Well I personally don't use lanyard clips, it might come loose if it gets pulled or such. Meaning you won't have damage. If you're looking for high quality, thick and fluffy tails then I recommand those shops on Etsy: Vfurs Oakenfoxshoppe Ecostep TheWildThingsPassion Magicfur Or to look for good quality shops on Amazon. Know that (bad quality) shops on amazon, wish and aliexpress could be a lot cheaper, but as the foxes live less long, in worse enviroment and often in cruel furfarms, their fur is a lot less quality. Shaped weirdly, fur falling out, leather rotting, oddly coloured, very small etc etc. Th tail having a purplish tip is because furfarms (especially cheap ones) tend to dye their silver fox tails (and tails in general), slight tints of purple or black are used here to make the black darker, as the black is often rather gray because they didn't care well for the foxes. So they dye it to look better. Furtail.com and Furtails.com is also known to be pretty okay quality, besides etsy. I love my tails a lot :') hha thanks!

GingerSNAP tails have a clip on the keychain part. Clip it on ur belt-loops or on the little loop-tag at the inside of your pants. If u go neither: use some kind of clip to clip it to ur pants.
I got my tails on a local market, local comic convention, local store, an accident on aliexpress and one on wish. However I heavily recommand etsy or some Good quality amazon shops. for etsy those shops are recommanded by the community and have good quality: Vfurs -> furfarm Oakenfoxshoppe -> Furfarm, roadkill, hunted fur -> told to be a therian themselves Ecostep -> furfarm TheWildThingsPassion -> mainly roadkill Magicfur -> furfarm ... There are probably a few others out there.
I also heavily recommand checking out local taxidermists and taxidermy groups or vulture culture groups etc on social media or websites. As well as keep an eye out on local markets and especially comic conventions (anime etc too) tend to sell tails quiet often.

Wel this isn't a fix completely, but it sure lowers the damage and makes the tail survive longer! So they can still break, but usually only after a few pulls and not just one

My tail has been pull proofed; happy to announce that the slight change in length is easing my species dysmorphia even more than before, (since I get shifts of long bushy/furry tails, now that I feel it against my legs more it feels a bit more like how it should). On a separate note; nice shirt.

Bought 2 tails,I did a lot of research on the shop and the tail is pretty good quality (I looked up a lot of videos,articles,etc. to make sure) first 2 tails,Didn't realize how big they'd be but I love them :) One came on tuesday when it was meant to come on wednesday! :D Wore it to school and everyone loved it! I wore my tail to school and this still happens. Thankfully no one ever pulled it but people would also walk past me and meow and bark at me and it just sucked. Bullying is a sad thing and the even sadder part is that half of the people do it to fit in, not because they truly want to. Idk, I thought I'd share my experience and shine light on it.
For my fake tails I dont put an elastic on them as I braid the keychain into it and they're very strong (strong enough for me to swing in the river with them) but I just got my first real one, so time to proof it!
Usually pants have little tags or loops at the inside of the pants. U can attach a keychain to this, or if the keychain ain't long enough. A rope and then the keychain on the rope. If you have seperated tags then you can put them together with some tape to create a loop to put the keychain on. HOWEVER i got a friend who lost their tail as the tape came loose and the tail fell off without noticing. Don't have a loop/tag at your butt? Look for elsewere in your pants. Side, legs, front,.. (often In the pants instead of outside the pants) you can attach a rope to that, make the rope go towards ur butt and attach the keychain there. Don't have any of that? Sorry, you can't wear your tail. However I've known people who cut holes in their underpants to wear the tail or Even in their pants themselves. Discuss this with your parents or so before you do so.
Another tip: If you're wearing pants that don't have belt loops, you can get those flat hair clips without teeth from any drugstore (at least where I live), and use that to secure the hairtie :]

How do they harvest tails and taxidermy pelts humanly? Are they just using all of the animal or are they killing them just for the fur/tails? I’m genuinely curious, I want a tail but I don’t want to hurt any animals-
Ethically sourced tails are usually roadkill or are fur scraps, it’s only ethical if the animal died in its natural habitat. An example of a non ethical tail would from an animal, let’s say a fox, that was kept in poor conditions and it’s only main purpose of living was just for its tail. That would be unethical. You can tell if a tail is unethical by the fur or clip, the fur might be turning blue if you bought an unethical tail that is supposedly a frost fox or white tail it might start turning blue, signifying that it is probably dyed blue or white. For the clip, most clips used my Asian fur farms are lobster clips that are a gold color and they are really janky. If you are buying a tail, don’t get it off Amazon as most taxidermy tail sellers on there sell them from asian fur farms, wich are unethical. if you are going to buy a tail, you should get one off Etsy, if you go to the pinned comment of the video, he linked some Etsy shops that sell ethical tails. I hope this helped :)
This tutorial is 6 years old but I’m still gonna use it considering how conservative the area I live in is 😭 Unfortunately the tail I own is from a furfarm (friend bought it unknowingly, felt bad, and gave it to me bc he felt guilty owning it) & I’m *especially* trying to pay as much respect to the animal’s life as I can considering what it probably went through. This reminds me of a time my school took my grade to an arcade. My friend and I (we are therians) decided to bring our tails to the arcade to wear when we weren’t actively rock climbing or doing laser tag. We eventually found this fun roller coaster simulation, and gave it a go. Keep in mind, during the ride, you have to lay down in a plastic chair attacked to the game. Anyways, my tail was dangling from the side. A boy who I still don’t like to this day (and is also highly religious) decided it would be funny if he pulled on my tail. He yanked it as hard as he could. It tore into 2 pieces. It actually hurt too. I was so upset that we went to our teacher and our teacher who is awesome demanded that the kid repay us for the tail. He did, and we spent the money on boba tea instead of buying another tail 😂

Why would you then take that risk just to tell them that you identify as an animal? U will identify as the animal, and probably somewhat behave like it, wheither you tell them about it or not.

To anyone who doesn't have the hair spring things shown in the video you can also use rubber bands! I'd recommend using 2 or 3 incase a few break! and I love this video PD! I've had a tail pulled before and it broke in half (it's fixed now!) and I definitely will be using this method!

This is so helpful!!! I wear my tails to school all the time. Once i heard a classmate say to his friend, "Watch this. It'll be funny." I looked over because i was curious what they were talking about, and next thing I new he had gotten up and yanked my tail. It wasn't damaged at all thankfully, but he got a wild glare from me for the rest of class. Im using this method from now on!

This is awesome for added security you can reinforce the inside with leather, nylon webbing , or jewelry chain . All you have to do is open up your tail gently and comb the fur away then use hot glue or e6000 to glue your material of choice down the length of tour tail. mine is done with jewelry chain and I use a heavy duty carbine clip to attach it to my clothing. - Alpha Sage

Sadly there was a little metal peice that make the lower clip part stable but it fell off when i was doing quads, was looking for answers here but couldn’t find anything sadly. It falls off often now. Might try the belt trick though. I feel like one of the reasons it broke it because i was wearing it wrong because it was my first tail. I’m trying to get another clip to bypass the issue, but i can’t seem to find anything so far.

I got a dyed white fox tail

Story: I was at skyzone and I was playing dodgeball, and there were 2 boys behind me, and one of them pulled on my tail, breaking it, the tail itself was fine, but the chain broke, and the part that attached to my pants broke too, thankfully I was able to fix it, but I told staff and they apologized about that and gave me a free icee since they couldn’t really do anything, and the kid got in a lot of trouble, I’m gonna try to make my tail pull-proof for public gearing, I learned my lesson on that haha

I have a question about other types of pants without belt loops? Is there a way to have a pull proof tail on pants without belt loops?
Perhaps your pants have a tag on the back? Inside the pants? Tags are often loop shaped, meaning you can attach the tail over therr. Or otherwise your best option is to tie a rope / shoelace / belt around your waist and attach the tail to that.
You Can also use a paperclip or safety pin to attach the tail to your pants but if someone pulls, the sharp edges of the pins might damage your pants.

i have a black wolf tail that had to large of a keychain that came with it but i also used to have a fox tail that sadly got ripped up by my friends dog, but i saved the keychain from that tail and used it for my wolf tail and just used a lot of this really strong glue that another friend of mine had that she also uses for her tails. So far it hasn't came off yet after a couple weeks of using it so i think it worked. but your method also looks creative so i might use it for future tails! also i love your depressed chicken :3

I made a tail out of a scarf and a lanyard clip. I used a black one since one of my theriotypes is black. I don't wear it in public, but I do wear it when I exercise at home or dance in my home studio. It's durable and stays during that, but I'm not sure how it would hold if my tail were pulled...
I do yelp when I accidentally catch my tail in the door and it pulls. It's usually when I don't notice that it surprises me and I yelp.
Hha don't worry I do the same, I hiss (cat cameo shifts) or yelp, peep or squeak when people pull (for fun) my tail or when I get stuck or even hit it against the wall or such. Both because I slightly jumpscare as that happens as because my phantom tail litterally places itself in the IRL tail I'm wearing, making me litterally experience pain through that IRL tal.
Hmm I'm curious how one could make a tail out of a scarf, never heard about it before! Know that (bad quality) shops on amazon, wish and aliexpress could be a lot cheaper, but as the foxes live less long, in worse enviroment and often in cruel furfarms, their fur is a lot less quality. Shaped weirdly, fur falling out, leather rotting, oddly coloured, very small etc etc. Th tail having a purplish tip is because furfarms (especially cheap ones) tend to dye their silver fox tails (and tails in general), slight tints of purple or black are used here to make the black darker, as the black is often rather gray because they didn't care well for the foxes. So they dye it to look better.
Furtail.com and Furtails.com is also known to be pretty okay quality, besides etsy.

GingerSNAP tails have a clip on the keychain part. Clip it on ur belt-loops or on the little loop-tag at the inside of your pants. If u go neither: use some kind of clip to clip it to ur pants.

You can get good tails from www.furtails.com or www.furtail.com
I got my tails on a local market, local comic convention, local store, an accident on aliexpress and one on wish.
However I heavily recommand etsy or some Good quality amazon shops.
for etsy those shops are recommanded by the community and have good quality:

Oakenfoxshoppe -> Furfarm, roadkill, hunted fur -> told to be a therian themselves
Ecostep -> furfarm

There are probably a few others out there.
I also heavily recommand checking out local taxidermists and taxidermy groups or vulture culture groups etc on social media or websites. As well as keep an eye out on local markets and especially comic conventions (anime etc too) tend to sell tails quiet often.

Wel this isn't a fix completely, but it sure lowers the damage and makes the tail survive longer! So they can still break, but usually only after a few pulls and not just one

My tail has been pull proofed; happy to announce that the slight change in length is easing my species dysmorphia even more than before, (since I get shifts of long bushy/furry tails, now that I feel it against my legs more it feels a bit more like how it should).

Bought 2 tails,I did a lot of research on the shop and the tail is pretty good quality (I looked up a lot of videos,articles,etc. to make sure) first 2 tails,Didn't realize how big they'd be but I love them :) One came on tuesday when it was meant to come on wednesday! :D Wore it to school and everyone loved it! My tail broke three days ago I really needed this video. My sister, my older sister, pulled as hard as she could on the tail, and I was on the swing she started laughing, and I was crying😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I wore my tail to school and this still happens. Thankfully no one ever pulled it but people would also walk past me and meow and bark at me and it just sucked. Bullying is a sad thing and the even sadder part is that half of the people do it to fit in, not because they truly want to. Idk, I thought I'd share my experience and shine light on it.
For my fake tails I dont put an elastic on them as I braid the keychain into it and they're very strong (strong enough for me to swing in the river with them) but I just got my first real one, so time to proof it!

I don’t use belts so what do I do to wear a tail?
Usually pants have little tags or loops at the inside of the pants. U can attach a keychain to this, or if the keychain ain't long enough. A rope and then the keychain on the rope.
If you have seperated tags then you can put them together with some tape to create a loop to put the keychain on. HOWEVER i got a friend who lost their tail as the tape came loose and the tail fell off without noticing.
Don't have a loop/tag at your butt? Look for elsewere in your pants. Side, legs, front,.. (often In the pants instead of outside the pants) you can attach a rope to that, make the rope go towards ur butt and attach the keychain there.
Don't have any of that? Sorry, you can't wear your tail.
However I've known people who cut holes in their underpants to wear the tail or
Even in their pants themselves. Discuss this with your parents or so before you do so.
Another tip: If you're wearing pants that don't have belt loops, you can get those flat hair clips without teeth from any drugstore (at least where I live), and use that to secure the hairtie :]

Ethically sourced tails are usually roadkill or are fur scraps, it’s only ethical if the animal died in its natural habitat. An example of a non ethical tail would from an animal, let’s say a fox, that was kept in poor conditions and it’s only main purpose of living was just for its tail. That would be unethical. You can tell if a tail is unethical by the fur or clip, the fur might be turning blue if you bought an unethical tail that is supposedly a frost fox or white tail it might start turning blue, signifying that it is probably dyed blue or white. For the clip, most clips used my Asian fur farms are lobster clips that are a gold color and they are really janky. If you are buying a tail, don’t get it off Amazon as most taxidermy tail sellers on there sell them from asian fur farms, wich are unethical. if you are going to buy a tail, you should get one off Etsy, if you go to the pinned comment of the video, he linked some Etsy shops that sell ethical tails. Unfortunately the tail I own is from a furfarm (friend bought it unknowingly, felt bad, and gave it to me bc he felt guilty owning it) & I’m *especially* trying to pay as much respect to the animal’s life as I can considering what it probably went through. It would genuinely break my heart if some 4th grader or some shit broke the thing. Thanks for the tut dude

This reminds me of a time my school took my grade to an arcade. My friend and I (we are therians) decided to bring our tails to the arcade to wear when we weren’t actively rock climbing or doing laser tag. We eventually found this fun roller coaster simulation, and gave it a go. Keep in mind, during the ride, you have to lay down in a plastic chair attacked to the game. Anyways, my tail was dangling from the side. A boy who I still don’t like to this day (and is also highly religious) decided it would be funny if he pulled on my tail. He yanked it as hard as he could. It tore into 2 pieces. It actually hurt too. I was so upset that we went to our teacher and our teacher who is awesome demanded that the kid repay us for the tail. He did, and we spent the money on boba tea instead of buying another tail 😂
