Sadly the tail I wanted off of Etsy was way too expensive and I just learned Amazon is not Ethical at all so next time I will save up for a proper tail
I don't really like real fur for a tail unless the animal died naturally which is one of the reasons why I make my own and I have to care for it differently
moon the therian and the shadow pack yeh, I don't like it either when an animal has had a cruel life and died just fur the fur. That's why I was so upset at first when I bought a fake tail at aliexpress and received a real one instead. As I know furfarms/real tails from aliexpress are Super cruel. The tails only cost you 1-5$ but that also means they only got 1-5$ to care for the animal. Small cages, poor food, no health care, painfull deads or even skinned alive.. It's so sad. I can't give all to much info on fake tails as I barely own such myself. But I hope u are able to care well for your fale tails non the less! :)
Tip: if you are underaged, and you want a handful of therian gear, I suggest waiting from a week to a month before asking. I mostly do this so it doesn’t seem needy or for something shady Also, if you want a tail, and you are nearing a con or Halloween, go as your kin type so it doesn’t raise suspicions! If you’re parents are fine with it, say you are a furry and you want these items to express yourself and feel more comfortable That’s all I got from personal experience! Your welcome!

a little Idea For therians like me that dont feel comfortable with a real tail from a dead animal but still want a tail that moves like a real one: make or buy a yarn tail,they look good and move amazing,if you want to make one yourself it may take some time but they are really amazing :3

I sometimes wear my tail to school (not often however) and even the teachers compliment me about it on that 'I got a nice style' or 'cool tail!' I think schools should allow things like tails etc more, after all it's not harming anyone and just a nice style. goodlooking! Nice school you have!

Little Osprey having a tail can be really fun! But always know that wheither u have a tail or you don't doesn't matter. You don't need a tail to be a therian and it doesn't make u any less of a therian either :3 I've been on an uniform school before as well. I didn't like it at all :/ not that I couldn't wear a tail but just how ridiculously ugly the uniform looked as well as those strict rules and how uncomfy the uniform was! I wish you best of luck! Leah TheTherian thanks! :) I bought it for the purpose of being able to wear it daily as a piece of fashion, as most of my regular clothes I wear daily are mostly black my white favorite tail didn't really blend in well and catches a lot of eyes! So for school and such, i got the black tail as people barely even notice and it just looks real cool! ;p
In the US you will find these Native American stores in the middle of the country that sell dream catchers, feathers, tails, stones/geodes, and much more. I got my tail in a shop by the American River, though it’s a fox tail cost $28 and a bit long for my theriotype, I’m happy to have any. I also walked into a shop selling tails in Idaho and another in Montana. There was one shop in New Mexico that sold these small, beautiful geode statues of animals, and though my heart was stolen by a beautiful grey bobcat statue, I didn’t get it and it’s always on my mind. If ever I go back, finding it still there will reignite my belief in magic lol
I asked my mom for my tail by saying it's for a costume (Since I wear costumes a lot, she doesn't ask questions as long as it's my money). It worked well! And about animals disliking/liking the real tails, my cat actually loves it XD

If you're looking for info then I really recommand to watch some videos, however be aware that there a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings around therians. Especially on Tumblr, Reddit and RUclips. The youtube channel with the best and most accurate, correct information around therianthropy is Therian Nation. But I also have a playlist (to be found at the top of my youtube homepage) which includes a lot of 'important' information around therianthropy, especially made for newer or searching therians. I also highly recommand checking out the website Therian Guide as this contains a lot of handy and correct information which is very easy to read and kept short. They also have a great forum (go to community and then at the bottom of the page is a button to join the forum) which I've been member of for a while and can tell you that it's one of the best places to turn to as it has 100% correct information and a lot of friendly members who're willing to help you. It's a family like place over there. Therian Amino is kind of the personal facebook especially for therians. Very fun place and through 'any therian in__' polls also one of the best places to find therians who live in your country etc. However while it's fun, for blogging and chatting etc. It is mainly build up out of younger therians 10-20yrs old. And also contains a lot of misundestandings and misconceptions so be cautious when joining therian amino. Not all info is thrustworthy. i am also a therian and my theriotype is a red fox. when i got my first tail i never took it off unless i was going in public, showering, sleeping. Also i always moved it around because its somehow satisfying xD
I brush my tails every month to get rid of the dust. Shaking them gently and not too rough is good to shake off extra dust too. I brush upwards not downwards. (Maybe sometimes I do but I get lazy to do so, upwards is good too.)
hmm depends, if I got an annoying knot of fur or such. I brush upwards first (but veeeeery gently so I don't pull out fur) then to brush it back downwards. Both can be fine, however upwards.. is more dangerous because of the risk to pull out fur. I do so tho, with some tails. By being carefull. I brush them after every heavy wear (a walk in the woods, into the city,.. not if I'm just at home) or whenever they just need a brush xD And for the dust: mine hang on my dreamcatcher so I basicly just run my fingers through them every now and then and wear them a lot, so they don't collect much dust luckily.
PD I don't wear my real tails, it's only for display. I do so with the fake. And you didn't understand me, I don't brush upwards how you think I do, I know it will pull the fur out if not gently cared. I only move the brush gently upwards on it, to get the dust off. It works that way too.

Have you considered putting captions on your videos? Many people are terrible with accents (especially if English isn't their fist language) and it might help viewers
Some faux fur tails have leather or metal chain on the inside to give weight and make it similar to real. And some taxidermy tails are stuffed with fluff like a pillow.
Well I didn't know it wasn't automaticly offering you the possibility to turn on captions, I must have unabled the option through my settings. I'll go edit my settings so people could see captions. However those might not be fully correct, it will be mostly. Manually editing captions into the videos will be a hell, I already spend 7 hours of editing on each video, having to make captions for every single word will make that into 12 or more most likely. But I highly appreciaty your advice! Oh yes I know faux fur with metal chains, the faux fur tail I'm showing in the video has one actually. However I've never heard of people putting leather on the inside of faux fur tails, I did hear of people getting it to a life-like sensation weight because of stuffing it with different (more heavy) things and what not. Putting leather in it would be an unnescecary expensive cost I guess, but I believe you that some might do that. I just don't think it's very likely to encounter. Taxidermy tails being stuffed? Ah yeh I see where you are coming from, that would indeed explain some stuff, but wouldn't the leather still be in there? As the fur is (just as real animal fur) is literally attached to the leather (which is the skin ofcourse)? However you won't be able to see the leather anymore ofcourse, as it'll be shut to keep the stuffing in. Hope yours do too, incl youtube channel. Goodluck with that! I got the blue fox tail from a local christmass market I randomly walked by. I got the white tail from aliexpress, it both said and even showed a clearly fake tail yet I received a real tail. I don't (regret) it anymore however, i absolutely love this tail. I got the fake grey tail from a friend who said to have gotten it on a convention. I got the black tail at a local anime convention. Most anime/comic conventions have atleast 1 or 2 real fur shops (as LARP-ers are big fans of fur!) and 1-3 fake animal assecoire (incl tail) shops so you got most chance finding a tail IRL over there! Aliexpress is also a nice place however it might be cheap and easy but that also means the animal shall been threatened badly, lived shortly, physically hurted etc etc as they do not have money, time or such for giving the animal a good life. With real furs you are paying for the animals life. The cheaper the (most likely) worse their life. Hope this helped! WOOF! PD

Well it ain't very simple to get stains like mud, birdpoo etc etc out of tail. What I would recommand is to try out any way of washing that does not get the inside of the tail, the leather, wet. Fur can stand water, just be carefull with pulling out etc. Leather can't. Also: don't use heat water. I would take low or in between. Hot water tends to make things shrink and destroy. Inlcuding fake tails, and I see it being able to destroy real tails as well. What I would do is, wait. Wait until the mud is dried until it kinda becomes sand. Then try brushing through the hairs, so that the sand falls of. What remains, I would try to wash of with water. And preferably no soap. however, surface clean only! which means that you can wash the fur, but not the leather. So just gotta be carefull :)
Eh who cares what anybody thinks. If anybody says anything just laugh. If they are mean just know they are just jealous of your happy life. But always pull proof your tails before wearing out. (PD already made a vid on it)
Hey, nice video! I have a question that I really need answered though... I have a tail, and because Some people are stupid, someone pulled my tail and broke the leather that would hold the clip. We are trying to find a way to sew the tail but we can't figure it out... Does anyone have anything that would help?
Jayfeather S I recently had my own black tail break and fixed it myself, maybe I could help. Was the clip attached through a hole made in the leather part? My tail (and many) was like that, but the the leather ripped to the hole, which caused my clip to come loose. I personally made a new hole in my tail and attached the clip through it again. You can also use things like strings or metal ballchains through the hole. I also personally glued a little metal ring in the hole before attaching the clip again, which should make sure it rips less easily next time. Don't worry when making a hole, it's not that easy or likely you would rip the whole leather. Just find a flexible spot of leather (hard leather could crack and make the hole unessacary big and easy to break again), take ur scissors and pus them trough, only the tip is enough, ur hole doesn't have to be big. Just big enough to put that chain/string/clip through. If ur leather/fur was glued to a clip (I got such tail), I don't recommend glueing it again, it will just come loose again probably, and probably soon as most likely your glue is less strong/well put on it then the original makers glue. Just do the same method as described at the top of this message: make a small hole. I hopen this somehow helped. Questions are welcome as well as better explaination of how ur tail look like/how the clip was attached before. WOOF! PD
PD Thank you! Yes, it was just a ring of leather that I connected a clip to and I don't know if it was just really weak leather or something but the ring just broke in half. I'll think about doing the metal ring because it is the only tail I have.
if u make a hole in the leather of ur tail, just make sure to leave enough space so it won't rip all the way to the edge of your tail again. The leather should be strong enough. Something like that can just happen if you pull hard enough or in the wrong way.

As long as you do not get the leather inside wet, it should be completely fine :3 (normally the fur is thick enough not to let the water through the leather if it's only a little bit), just don't get your hand soaking wet (aka don't put a lot of water on your tail). Just hold your hand underneath the water. shake off a bit, then run over the tail :3 That should be fine! Fur can get wet (but do'nt do it with super hot water, more than 30°C, cuz then you get heat damage and lose softness) Leather can't. That's most important :3

There is nothing wrong with being furries and a lot of furries are the most kind and accepting people I've ever met, sometimes even more kind and accpeting than some therians I met! Also lots of furries love therians or just don't mind them being around. Sadly there are always exceptions, people who like to be assholes and/or create drama. Just don't mind those! If they call you dumb, They are the dumb ones. After all They are missing out on a Beautiful part of life: being able to see the world through animal eyes. Hha. IceyMeowie ofcourse I answer :3 scroll down at any of my videos hha. I answer every single comment. I am not afraid of it getting matted really. But I wouldn't recommand it because the wind will be too strong and put stress on the keychain and leather. After some time, or even the first time if the leather is weak, it'll probably rip or break and then your tail will fall off on the middle of the road. If you're on the highway you can't quickly stop to pick it up. And besides that you won't even hear it fall. I'm afraid the leather and keychain will break over time.. or even really soon. You can try it out. I sometimes bike with my tail. But motorcycles go a bit faster. So I'd honestly think very carefully over it. It's a risk.
IceyMeowie oh and a little tip: wind is actually good in tails. I've had matted and klitted tails get. Less klitted or matted after some hours in the wine. It doesn't do wonders, but it's not bad either :3 It's even better than hanging in a room in some dust every single day hha. So surely let them air out every now and then I'd say! :D
I have a tail like the white one from the beginning and it's really puffy and soft (It's a real FOX tail I bought it but I don't know how the fox died)
Well foxes are naturally scared too of dogs, and wolfs too. So not that weird ;) Wolfs are canines, but a different 'kind' than dogs. And foxes aren't even canines at all, they are 'vulpes' or 'vulpines'. So don't worry about it! :)
At first I was scared to wear my tail in public but when I did wear it for the first time outside my house no one cared and I actually got loads of compliments so I say go for it but make sure your safe when u wear it outside ❤
I made a black wolf tail from my dogs' spider toy. Their dog toy was a giant derpy spider, and there was a black fluffy leg on it. I cut it off, ripped all the plastic out of it, did some sewing, stuffed it with fluff, put a stretchy string around it, and done! It works very well and I love it since it's my first tail ever. No money was spent and no fur was used from a real animal which is the best part!
I put some natural hairoils in my tail to fix it (no matter how much combing or whatever it was literally always frizzy and fur got out.) now the fur sticks together a little well and now it looks good as new! only downside is the seller sent me a rotting tail and the other one mostly unfinished :'D

I'll both give Good stores and Bad stores just so you are informed well :) BAD STORES: -amazon (terrible quality, all furfarms from amazon are very cruel, tails rip within a few months) -aliexpress (not sure you'll get your package, 9/10 very poor quality, small tails, break easily, SUPER cruel furfarms.) -Wish (quality is not guaranteed, you can have a nice tail or a real nightmare and one that falls apart instantly. Same for furfarm cruelty, can be super cruel or quiet okay.) - Any tail under $15. A tail Should cost you some money. Remember that you aren't paying for the product, you are paying for the animals life. A furfarm can't feed a fox with $2, they can't care for them for $2. They won't clean their cages for $2. Even the human workers only get this $2. And even the medical thing they give an animal to die slowly and in peace or to not feel any pain on it's own costs more than $2. So no tail that costs less than $15 is cruel free. And any tail that costs less than $5 is an animal that suffered it's entire life so much that it's the most cruel thing you would have ever seen. Not to said killed in cruel ways such as being skinned alive or drown to death. GOOD STORES: -Etsy (maaaany real tails from etsy are not that cruel and amazing quality, shapes, lenght, colours,.. You can even look for roadkill furs! Those are cruel free. You can also find Real Wolf tails an furs, not just foxes.) -Vfurs on Etsy (I'll pass on the link in a bit. They're known for their -mainly- cruel free tails and their Amazing quality) -Oakenfurshoppe or Oakenfoxshoppe on Etsy (unsure how they're exactly called, i'll pass on the link in a bit. Same as Vfurs. -mainly- no cruel and Amazing quality) I'll put "furtails" over here as well, a webshop. However it is unsure how they gather their tails, many do recommand them. Know that chances are big that you still receive a tail that is from a very cruel furfarm. Also their tails aren't always nice quality, it highly depends. Overall their tails are 80% less quality than Vfurs or Oakenfoxshoppe eitherway. Goodluck! WOOF! PD
partly yes partly no. You don't need to be scared of water, that's a pro! You could wash it in any water with any soap. Tho it's recommended not to wash it in super hot water like a washing machine as fake fur is plastic, so it'll melt and lose it's softness and look weird. Cold water works best, like in your sink or bath :) just rinse it out well and let it dry and air well! You can also brush it with a gentle pet brush or most hair brushes work too and the fluff technique (holding upside down and fluffing it up) works really well with fake fur tails too! :) does this help? Mainly the parts about water and leather do not apply to fake fur tais

Oh I hate it when people are violent to animals like that! As, even when it doesn't actually hit them, it does more damage to the animal than people think. Like, it makes them stressed and scared etc etc. If I were you, I honestly, no matter how much I would love my grandma, wouldn't let her in my house anymore. My cats are my friends, if someone throws something at my friends, I'll respectfully show them the door and never allow them to cross that door anymore.
PD I actually have to live with her, but I try to protect my cat her name is Luna so it's her house her rules (she doesn't do it alot but she does it) she does it because she don't like her because Luna scratches the walls etc etc, but I have been teaching Luna not to do that so it wouldn't p#ss off my grandma but we have gotten better to were grandma won't do that so don't worry it not like we're not abusive to Luna or anything else Luna's actually still a happy cat :)
i’m not a therian but i’m really into oddities. i bought a red fox tail and hung it up next to my oddity shelf and also use it as an accessory to my bag. luckily my parents were fine with this. it’s honestly so beautiful and i don’t blame therians for having multiple tails.
I don't really feel comfortable buying real tails.... im so nervous like.... what if it's actually from a cruel fur farm? :( Also, i don't have a pet brush. Do normal hairbrushes work, or not?
Just want to add, sometimes i see situations in which tails just tearing up, i found that they do it only if they are too dry. This part inside of fur need to have a care too, when its too dry - it became more "crunchy". Just use cream on it (even simple cream for hands). Just rub this skin inside and let them dry. They will become as elastic as really new one. And sorry for bad English

Not related to tails, but at school I was taken out of the classroom and talked to about flashing gang signs when I drew the Theta-Delta symbol on the back on my hand. They also called my parents and I had to explain. 😂

My first ever tail was bought on a christmass market in Antwerp for €15, this was the (rotting) blue fox tail, however his tails are usually way better quality (I just really didn't have any luck with this tail sadly), this person was just someone doing the tails as a hobby, making a small bussiness out of it, he had no website. My second tail (my favorite, the unknown fox, dyed white one) was honestly bought through Aliexpress for €6 (However it was described to be fake, so I did not mean to buy a real one). My third one, the fake grey wolf tail was gifted by a friend who bought it as a convention. My last tail, the real black tail, was bought at a big anime/comic-convention called Facts for €10, a english talking girl sellings lots of hand-crafted things such as fake real-looking animal hats and real fur tail. I recommand aliexpress, this is cheap and easy. However if you get a real tail, the animal is most likely being threatened badly as it is too cheap to give the animal a good life. If you get a fake tail, it could be that you are accidently buying a real tail. I recommand going by small craft stores or contact cosplayers/Larp-ers or people who love crafting and/or taxidermy, those often make tails just for fun and as an art form and are glad to help you for not that much money (looking to get a yarn tail? especially the cosplay community helps well with that) I recommand to look out for both real as fake fur tails at anime/comic conventions, those sell them often. You just have to look out for them! Those could either be really expensive (50 dollars or more) or really cheap (like the 10 dollars one). Depending on the seller. WOOF! PD

This was super helpful I did the tail fluffing thing and it totally worked also I wasn’t sure if my tail was real. I got it at a renaissance festival and it felt real and has leather inside and also sheds so I thought it was real but this confirmed that it was real so thanks.
How do you clip on a tail?I don’t got a clip on tail with the keychain.But,what clothing or accessories is it clippable?I got a tail that came connected with a small strap.I got interested on those keychains but how or where to clip on.(idk if u understand this)

then it's likely a real tail. Real tails cannot be washed as their core is leather and leather breaks when wet.. so also be careful around water and rain. The only thing you can do is surface-clean it by going with a towel over the hairs. be sure to hang it up to dry and that no water will drip into the leather or your tail may break apart

so glad i found this video. i was a little worried about getting a real tail, since ive only had one when i was very little but it broke shortly after and that was before i even knew what a therian was(even though it was like the most perfect tail for my theriotype...) but im unable to find any wolf tails in my wolfs color, and coyote tails are pretty much the perfect pelt. my only fear is that a coyote tail will be too small.
I'm hopefully getting my first tail soon. It's a wolf tail, but I can't find any collie dog tails, so a wolf tail is the best I can find. I haven't had success meditating but I feel connected to collie dogs as well as cats. I don't know, I could just be a wolf therian but I'm still questioning.

werewolf Play's it sounds easier than it seem but basicly a therian is just someone who identifies as an animal. Identifies = feel as if they are the animam. So basicly all you need to do is ask yourself: "Do I feel like a non-human animal?" If the answer is yes: congratulations, by theory you are a therian. Now it's not needed to know What animal you identify as (yet) to be a therian. I know many 30 year olds who are Still on the search for the exact animal they identify as. And Wearing Therian Gear does not make one more of a therian or a better therian than any other therian. It's not needed to wear Therian Gear to be a therian, just like it's not needed to wear a tshirt to be a human ;) Extra: a dog therian might wear a tail, but even a fish therian could wear a tail! In my experiences: no. They don't. In theory however they Could wear of if the tail gets in contact with rain/water all too often. As well as shampoos and soap (as that's made to take oils and dirt away). However I've rolled in snow with my tails, ran in the rain (no heavy rain however) etc and my tail is still being strong so I wouldn't be afraid of water. Just never wash your tail with soap. Never wash your tail in general (besides surface cleaning with a lil' bit of water), as wet leather gets hard and breaks easily so you'll destroy your tail. In general you do'nt have to be afraid of the oils coming off. But don't push the limits either. WOOF! PD
Can i get a tail because im a therian? I want one to express myself with a REAL tail. I have done alot of research how to own them. How not to. Dont get them wet. (rain and snow can ruin, but it is an excepction.)

My parents dont realky give a shit if i buy a tail or paw socks/gloves as long as i pay for them lol. To get mine i did a bunch of extra chores and spent my money on a tail. Im gonna be getting a raccoon tail as i have a raccoon theriotype! Im so excited! And i can put it on my backpack for school and say its just a keychain! Sadly the tail I wanted off of Etsy was way too expensive and I just learned Amazon is not Ethical at all so next time I will save up for a proper tail
I don't really like real fur for a tail unless the animal died naturally which is one of the reasons why I make my own and I have to care for it differently
moon the therian and the shadow pack yeh, I don't like it either when an animal has had a cruel life and died just fur the fur. That's why I was so upset at first when I bought a fake tail at aliexpress and received a real one instead. As I know furfarms/real tails from aliexpress are Super cruel. The tails only cost you 1-5$ but that also means they only got 1-5$ to care for the animal. Small cages, poor food, no health care, painfull deads or even skinned alive..
It's so sad.

Tip: if you are underaged, and you want a handful of therian gear, I suggest waiting from a week to a month before asking.
I mostly do this so it doesn’t seem needy or for something shady
Also, if you want a tail, and you are nearing a con or Halloween, go as your kin type so it doesn’t raise suspicions!
If you’re parents are fine with it, say you are a furry and you want these items to express yourself and feel more comfortable

You can actually make a tail from yarn me and my friend who are therians make our tails from yarn and we wear them to the park/woods

I've been on an uniform school before as well. I didn't like it at all :/ not that I couldn't wear a tail but just how ridiculously ugly the uniform looked as well as those strict rules and how uncomfy the uniform was!

So for school and such, i got the black tail as people barely even notice and it just looks real cool! ;p

In the US you will find these Native American stores in the middle of the country that sell dream catchers, feathers, tails, stones/geodes, and much more. I got my tail in a shop by the American River, though it’s a fox tail cost $28 and a bit long for my theriotype, I’m happy to have any. I also walked into a shop selling tails in Idaho and another in Montana.
There was one shop in New Mexico that sold these small, beautiful geode statues of animals, and though my heart was stolen by a beautiful grey bobcat statue, I didn’t get it and it’s always on my mind. If ever I go back, finding it still there will reignite my belief in magic lol

If you're looking for info then I really recommand to watch some videos, however be aware that there a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings around therians. Especially on Tumblr, Reddit and RUclips. The youtube channel with the best and most accurate, correct information around therianthropy is Therian Nation. But I also have a playlist (to be found at the top of my youtube homepage) which includes a lot of 'important' information around therianthropy, especially made for newer or searching therians.
I also highly recommand checking out the website Therian Guide as this contains a lot of handy and correct information which is very easy to read and kept short.
They also have a great forum (go to community and then at the bottom of the page is a button to join the forum) which I've been member of for a while and can tell you that it's one of the best places to turn to as it has 100% correct information and a lot of friendly members who're willing to help you. It's a family like place over there.
Therian Amino is kind of the personal facebook especially for therians. Very fun place and through 'any therian in__' polls also one of the best places to find therians who live in your country etc. However while it's fun, for blogging and chatting etc. It is mainly build up out of younger therians 10-20yrs old. And also contains a lot of misundestandings and misconceptions so be cautious when joining therian amino. Not all info is thrustworthy.

i am also a therian and my theriotype is a red fox. when i got my first tail i never took it off unless i was going in public, showering, sleeping. Also i always moved it around because its somehow satisfying xD

I brush my tails every month to get rid of the dust. Shaking them gently and not too rough is good to shake off extra dust too. I brush upwards not downwards. (Maybe sometimes I do but I get lazy to do so, upwards is good too.)
hmm depends, if I got an annoying knot of fur or such. I brush upwards first (but veeeeery gently so I don't pull out fur) then to brush it back downwards. Both can be fine, however upwards.. is more dangerous because of the risk to pull out fur. I do so tho, with some tails. By being carefull. I brush them after every heavy wear (a walk in the woods, into the city,.. not if I'm just at home) or whenever they just need a brush xD And for the dust: mine hang on my dreamcatcher so I basicly just run my fingers through them every now and then and wear them a lot, so they don't collect much dust luckily.

PD I don't wear my real tails, it's only for display. I do so with the fake. And you didn't understand me, I don't brush upwards how you think I do, I know it will pull the fur out if not gently cared. I only move the brush gently upwards on it, to get the dust off. It works that way too.

Have you considered putting captions on your videos? Many people are terrible with accents (especially if English isn't their fist language) and it might help viewers
Some faux fur tails have leather or metal chain on the inside to give weight and make it similar to real.
And some taxidermy tails are stuffed with fluff like a pillow.
Well I didn't know it wasn't automaticly offering you the possibility to turn on captions, I must have unabled the option through my settings. I'll go edit my settings so people could see captions. However those might not be fully correct, it will be mostly. Manually editing captions into the videos will be a hell, I already spend 7 hours of editing on each video, having to make captions for every single word will make that into 12 or more most likely. But I highly appreciaty your advice!
Oh yes I know faux fur with metal chains, the faux fur tail I'm showing in the video has one actually. However I've never heard of people putting leather on the inside of faux fur tails, I did hear of people getting it to a life-like sensation weight because of stuffing it with different (more heavy) things and what not. Putting leather in it would be an unnescecary expensive cost I guess, but I believe you that some might do that. I just don't think it's very likely to encounter.
Taxidermy tails being stuffed? Ah yeh I see where you are coming from, that would indeed explain some stuff, but wouldn't the leather still be in there? As the fur is (just as real animal fur) is literally attached to the leather (which is the skin ofcourse)? However you won't be able to see the leather anymore ofcourse, as it'll be shut to keep the stuffing in. That's a problem I rather not encounter haha! :)

I got the blue fox tail from a local christmass market I randomly walked by.
I got the white tail from aliexpress, it both said and even showed a clearly fake tail yet I received a real tail. I don't (regret) it anymore however, i absolutely love this tail.
I got the fake grey tail from a friend who said to have gotten it on a convention.
I got the black tail at a local anime convention.
Most anime/comic conventions have atleast 1 or 2 real fur shops (as LARP-ers are big fans of fur!) and 1-3 fake animal assecoire (incl tail) shops so you got most chance finding a tail IRL over there!
Aliexpress is also a nice place however it might be cheap and easy but that also means the animal shall been threatened badly, lived shortly, physically hurted etc etc as they do not have money, time or such for giving the animal a good life.
With real furs you are paying for the animals life. The cheaper the (most likely) worse their life.

My tail a got a few days ago, the leather is very thick which makes me not that worried about it breaking but it also makes the tail kinda heavy.
Great video, but What do you do if it get mud over it. Because I would like to wear it in the forest but I'm scaread it will get dirty
Well it ain't very simple to get stains like mud, birdpoo etc etc out of tail. What I would recommand is to try out any way of washing that does not get the inside of the tail, the leather, wet. Fur can stand water, just be carefull with pulling out etc. Leather can't. Also: don't use heat water. I would take low or in between. Hot water tends to make things shrink and destroy. Inlcuding fake tails, and I see it being able to destroy real tails as well.
What I would do is, wait. Wait until the mud is dried until it kinda becomes sand. Then try brushing through the hairs, so that the sand falls of. What remains, I would try to wash of with water. And preferably no soap. however, surface clean only! which means that you can wash the fur, but not the leather. So just gotta be carefull :)

Hey, nice video! I have a question that I really need answered though... I have a tail, and because Some people are stupid, someone pulled my tail and broke the leather that would hold the clip. We are trying to find a way to sew the tail but we can't figure it out... Does anyone have anything that would help?
Jayfeather S I recently had my own black tail break and fixed it myself, maybe I could help.
Was the clip attached through a hole made in the leather part? My tail (and many) was like that, but the the leather ripped to the hole, which caused my clip to come loose.
I personally made a new hole in my tail and attached the clip through it again. You can also use things like strings or metal ballchains through the hole.
I also personally glued a little metal ring in the hole before attaching the clip again, which should make sure it rips less easily next time.
Don't worry when making a hole, it's not that easy or likely you would rip the whole leather. Just find a flexible spot of leather (hard leather could crack and make the hole unessacary big and easy to break again), take ur scissors and pus them trough, only the tip is enough, ur hole doesn't have to be big. Just big enough to put that chain/string/clip through.
If ur leather/fur was glued to a clip (I got such tail), I don't recommend glueing it again, it will just come loose again probably, and probably soon as most likely your glue is less strong/well put on it then the original makers glue.
Just do the same method as described at the top of this message: make a small hole.
I hopen this somehow helped. Questions are welcome as well as better explaination of how ur tail look like/how the clip was attached before.

PD Thank you! Yes, it was just a ring of leather that I connected a clip to and I don't know if it was just really weak leather or something but the ring just broke in half. I'll think about doing the metal ring because it is the only tail I have.
if u make a hole in the leather of ur tail, just make sure to leave enough space so it won't rip all the way to the edge of your tail again. The leather should be strong enough. Something like that can just happen if you pull hard enough or in the wrong way.
I would poke another hole in the leather and use a ball chain or etc to reconnect it becausr i did that

Can I like.. Put water on my hand and pet my tail to "wash" them? Is it safe?
As long as you do not get the leather inside wet, it should be completely fine :3 (normally the fur is thick enough not to let the water through the leather if it's only a little bit), just don't get your hand soaking wet (aka don't put a lot of water on your tail). Just hold your hand underneath the water. shake off a bit, then run over the tail :3 That should be fine!

There is nothing wrong with being furries and a lot of furries are the most kind and accepting people I've ever met, sometimes even more kind and accpeting than some therians I met! Also lots of furries love therians or just don't mind them being around. Sadly there are always exceptions, people who like to be assholes and/or create drama. Just don't mind those! If they call you dumb, They are the dumb ones. After all They are missing out on a Beautiful part of life: being able to see the world through animal eyes. Hha. I am not afraid of it getting matted really. But I wouldn't recommand it because the wind will be too strong and put stress on the keychain and leather. After some time, or even the first time if the leather is weak, it'll probably rip or break and then your tail will fall off on the middle of the road. If you're on the highway you can't quickly stop to pick it up. And besides that you won't even hear it fall. I'm afraid the leather and keychain will break over time.. or even really soon.
You can try it out. I sometimes bike with my tail. But motorcycles go a bit faster. So I'd honestly think very carefully over it. It's a risk.
IceyMeowie oh and a little tip: wind is actually good in tails. I've had matted and klitted tails get. Less klitted or matted after some hours in the wine. It doesn't do wonders, but it's not bad either :3
It's even better than hanging in a room in some dust every single day hha.

Well foxes are naturally scared too of dogs, and wolfs too. So not that weird ;) Wolfs are canines, but a different 'kind' than dogs. And foxes aren't even canines at all, they are 'vulpes' or 'vulpines'. So don't worry about it! :)

At first I was scared to wear my tail in public but when I did wear it for the first time outside my house no one cared and I actually got loads of compliments so I say go for it but make sure your safe when u wear it outside ❤

I made a black wolf tail from my dogs' spider toy. Their dog toy was a giant derpy spider, and there was a black fluffy leg on it. I cut it off, ripped all the plastic out of it, did some sewing, stuffed it with fluff, put a stretchy string around it, and done! It works very well and I love it since it's my first tail ever. No money was spent and no fur was used from a real animal which is the best part!

I put some natural hairoils in my tail to fix it (no matter how much combing or whatever it was literally always frizzy and fur got out.) now the fur sticks together a little well and now it looks good as new! only downside is the seller sent me a rotting tail and the other one mostly unfinished :'D

BAD STORES:
-amazon (terrible quality, all furfarms from amazon are very cruel, tails rip within a few months)
-aliexpress (not sure you'll get your package, 9/10 very poor quality, small tails, break easily, SUPER cruel furfarms.)
-Wish (quality is not guaranteed, you can have a nice tail or a real nightmare and one that falls apart instantly. Same for furfarm cruelty, can be super cruel or quiet okay.)
- Any tail under $15. A tail Should cost you some money. Remember that you aren't paying for the product, you are paying for the animals life. A furfarm can't feed a fox with $2, they can't care for them for $2. They won't clean their cages for $2. Even the human workers only get this $2. And even the medical thing they give an animal to die slowly and in peace or to not feel any pain on it's own costs more than $2.
So no tail that costs less than $15 is cruel free.
And any tail that costs less than $5 is an animal that suffered it's entire life so much that it's the most cruel thing you would have ever seen. Not to said killed in cruel ways such as being skinned alive or drown to death.
GOOD STORES:
-Etsy (maaaany real tails from etsy are not that cruel and amazing quality, shapes, lenght, colours,.. You can even look for roadkill furs! Those are cruel free. You can also find Real Wolf tails an furs, not just foxes.)
-Vfurs on Etsy (I'll pass on the link in a bit. They're known for their -mainly- cruel free tails and their Amazing quality)
-Oakenfurshoppe or Oakenfoxshoppe on Etsy (unsure how they're exactly called, i'll pass on the link in a bit. Same as Vfurs. -mainly- no cruel and Amazing quality)
I'll put "furtails" over here as well, a webshop. However it is unsure how they gather their tails, many do recommand them. Know that chances are big that you still receive a tail that is from a very cruel furfarm. Also their tails aren't always nice quality, it highly depends.
Overall their tails are 80% less quality than Vfurs or Oakenfoxshoppe eitherway.

yeah so my tail is a cheep walmart tail with a wire in it for posing. does this video apply to my tail? just need to know.
partly yes partly no. You don't need to be scared of water, that's a pro! You could wash it in any water with any soap. Tho it's recommended not to wash it in super hot water like a washing machine as fake fur is plastic, so it'll melt and lose it's softness and look weird. Cold water works best, like in your sink or bath :) just rinse it out well and let it dry and air well! You can also brush it with a gentle pet brush or most hair brushes work too and the fluff technique (holding upside down and fluffing it up) works really well with fake fur tails too! :)

Oh I hate it when people are violent to animals like that! As, even when it doesn't actually hit them, it does more damage to the animal than people think. Like, it makes them stressed and scared etc etc. If I were you, I honestly, no matter how much I would love my grandma, wouldn't let her in my house anymore. My cats are my friends, if someone throws something at my friends, I'll respectfully show them the door and never allow them to cross that door anymore.
PD I actually have to live with her, but I try to protect my cat her name is Luna so it's her house her rules (she doesn't do it alot but she does it) she does it because she don't like her because Luna scratches the walls etc etc, but I have been teaching Luna not to do that so it wouldn't p#ss off my grandma but we have gotten better to were grandma won't do that so don't worry it not like we're not abusive to Luna or anything else Luna's actually still a happy cat :)
i’m not a therian but i’m really into oddities. i bought a red fox tail and hung it up next to my oddity shelf and also use it as an accessory to my bag. luckily my parents were fine with this. it’s honestly so beautiful and i don’t blame therians for having multiple tails.
I don't really feel comfortable buying real tails.... im so nervous like.... what if it's actually from a cruel fur farm? :(

Just want to add, sometimes i see situations in which tails just tearing up, i found that they do it only if they are too dry. This part inside of fur need to have a care too, when its too dry - it became more "crunchy". Just use cream on it (even simple cream for hands). Just rub this skin inside and let them dry. They will become as elastic as really new one. And sorry for bad English

Not related to tails, but at school I was taken out of the classroom and talked to about flashing gang signs when I drew the Theta-Delta symbol on the back on my hand. They also called my parents and I had to explain. 😂

Where do you get your tails from? Because I live in the Netherlands and getting good tails is around €50
My first ever tail was bought on a christmass market in Antwerp for €15, this was the (rotting) blue fox tail, however his tails are usually way better quality (I just really didn't have any luck with this tail sadly), this person was just someone doing the tails as a hobby, making a small bussiness out of it, he had no website. My second tail (my favorite, the unknown fox, dyed white one) was honestly bought through Aliexpress for €6 (However it was described to be fake, so I did not mean to buy a real one). My third one, the fake grey wolf tail was gifted by a friend who bought it as a convention. My last tail, the real black tail, was bought at a big anime/comic-convention called Facts for €10, a english talking girl sellings lots of hand-crafted things such as fake real-looking animal hats and real fur tail.
I recommand aliexpress, this is cheap and easy. However if you get a real tail, the animal is most likely being threatened badly as it is too cheap to give the animal a good life. If you get a fake tail, it could be that you are accidently buying a real tail.
I recommand going by small craft stores or contact cosplayers/Larp-ers or people who love crafting and/or taxidermy, those often make tails just for fun and as an art form and are glad to help you for not that much money (looking to get a yarn tail? especially the cosplay community helps well with that)
I recommand to look out for both real as fake fur tails at anime/comic conventions, those sell them often. You just have to look out for them! Those could either be really expensive (50 dollars or more) or really cheap (like the 10 dollars one). Depending on the seller.

This was super helpful I did the tail fluffing thing and it totally worked also I wasn’t sure if my tail was real. I got it at a renaissance festival and it felt real and has leather inside and also sheds so I thought it was real but this confirmed that it was real so thanks.
How do you clip on a tail?I don’t got a clip on tail with the keychain.But,what clothing or accessories is it clippable?I got a tail that came connected with a small strap.I got interested on those keychains but how or where to clip on.(idk if u understand this)
You can clip a Keychain tail to the belt loops on jeans or just clip the tail to the back of your pants :] (sorry I'm not really good at explaining)
My dog is scared of my tail :) although I try not to wear it around her sometimes I have to. Also like if your tail gets really dirty how to you wash it?
then it's likely a real tail. Real tails cannot be washed as their core is leather and leather breaks when wet.. so also be careful around water and rain. The only thing you can do is surface-clean it by going with a towel over the hairs. be sure to hang it up to dry and that no water will drip into the leather or your tail may break apart

so glad i found this video. i was a little worried about getting a real tail, since ive only had one when i was very little but it broke shortly after and that was before i even knew what a therian was(even though it was like the most perfect tail for my theriotype...) but im unable to find any wolf tails in my wolfs color, and coyote tails are pretty much the perfect pelt. my only fear is that a coyote tail will be too small.
I'm hopefully getting my first tail soon. It's a wolf tail, but I can't find any collie dog tails, so a wolf tail is the best I can find. I haven't had success meditating but I feel connected to collie dogs as well as cats. I don't know, I could just be a wolf therian but I'm still questioning.

Indeed, real cat tails are illegal. However raccoon, lync, bobcat & tanuki tails can look very much like cat tails and so can several fox tails
Can you use a hairdryer to dry the tail if you are out in the snow or rain, so you can dry it faster??

werewolf Play's it sounds easier than it seem but basicly a therian is just someone who identifies as an animal.
Identifies = feel as if they are the animam.
So basicly all you need to do is ask yourself:
"Do I feel like a non-human animal?"
If the answer is yes: congratulations, by theory you are a therian.
Now it's not needed to know What animal you identify as (yet) to be a therian. I know many 30 year olds who are Still on the search for the exact animal they identify as.
Side note: also know that shifting (mental/phantom/..) is not needed either to be a therian :)

werewolf Play's werewolf Play's while Therian gear (tails, collars, etc..) is a fun thing and while many therians wear those. It's absolutely Not needed to be a therian. And Wearing Therian Gear does not make one more of a therian or a better therian than any other therian.
It's not needed to wear Therian Gear to be a therian, just like it's not needed to wear a tshirt to be a human ;)
Extra: a dog therian might wear a tail, but even a fish therian could wear a tail! You wear somethig because you like it for whatever reason :) not for being a certain species.
So without gear, you are just as much as a therian as me and anyone else!

In my experiences: no. They don't.
In theory however they Could wear of if the tail gets in contact with rain/water all too often. As well as shampoos and soap (as that's made to take oils and dirt away).
However I've rolled in snow with my tails, ran in the rain (no heavy rain however) etc and my tail is still being strong so I wouldn't be afraid of water.
Just never wash your tail with soap.
Never wash your tail in general (besides surface cleaning with a lil' bit of water), as wet leather gets hard and breaks easily so you'll destroy your tail.
In general you do'nt have to be afraid of the oils coming off. But don't push the limits either.

What I do to fluff em up is I just hold on to the keychain and shake it aggressively but not too aggressively.
My parents dont realky give a shit if i buy a tail or paw socks/gloves as long as i pay for them lol. To get mine i did a bunch of extra chores and spent my money on a tail. Im gonna be getting a raccoon tail as i have a raccoon theriotype! Im so excited! And i can put it on my backpack for school and say its just a keychain! And that might help me find therians or supporters at my school❤
I learned that my cats loved my real tail buy trying to eat gladly I got it from them before it was damaged.
