Even if I have mixed feelings on a Metallica song, the moment I pick up the guitar and play it, all the Hetfield-isms hit, I can't help but love it. DM had some of my favorite riffs to play, for example. Hell, even St. Anger has some killer riffs. This song is no exception. Fun to play. I don't expect their material to be groundbreaking or anything new anymore. A lot of their newer material sounds like a microcosm of their entire career in individual songs, and I dig that, even if it gives the feeling of "I've heard this before." After 40 years, thats to be expected.
This song is fun to play. Definitely my favorite of the ones they released. If darkness had a son I didn't dig to much. You're so right about the riffs being able to figure them out extremely quick. Especially us fans that know their structure and style. For us all the songs are pretty easy. The solos used to be kind of harder to figure out but I think that's just over with no. He said he finds traditional solos boring on some kind of monster video. Now it sounds like any teenage kid with a whammy bar, wah pedal, and the pentatonic scale can play a Kirk solo. Think of how different the styles are between Kirk Hammett and Dimebag Darrell. Then think of slash. Those are my top 3 guitar players. You can tell which one it is as soon as they start playing a note. And that is how you tell a good guitar player from an average one.
@@Chainbrain Oh yeah, it’s gonna be good. I still remember playing Lux Æterna for my guitar masterclass for college back in December and the song had only been out for two weeks lol
this song/all the singles so far are just walking all over most if not all of hardwired. the album was great but the sound of this one feels so much more connected and definitely has some old school vibes but in a fresh way
I like the song, it sounds like more Metallica, which is a good thing, but it's also nothing new. Having said that, this looks like fun to play, and I'd definitely be interested in watching you play the first 5 albums as well!
Gives me All Nightmare Long or Spit out the Bone vibes. Not top notch, but as good as their 2000's stuff gets. Rather long (a Metallica special since at least AJFA), but this song earns *most* of that time, maybe like 65-75% of the runtime.
It’s funny you use “The Unforgiven” as the example for thought out solos. When in fact, it was an improvised solo, and is the direct reason they do improvised solos. 😊
@@Chainbrain Yeah, they aren't great. I like some of the solos from the new songs, like this song, except for the first part as well as Screraming Suicide's solo. but none of them are great.
Ride the lightning had riffs written by Mustaine. All of the solos were written by Kirk. I don't think modern Kirk solos not being as good is a product of Kirk "losing his touch", I think it's just that he threw out his best ideas when he was younger, and now that he has been in Metallica for 40 freaking years the well is just dry.
Some cool riffs, looks fun to play. Like everything else they put out, it's probably at least 2 minutes too long and the intro is pretty pointlessly dragged out.
I thought Halo on Fire and Spit Out the Bone off of the previous record had pretty good solos, but the rest of Hardwired (and these singles for 72 Seasons) were pretty disappointing in terms of lead guitar, especially when compared to Death Magnetic and their other albums.
Come hang out with us! Maybe we'll play you something!

Funny how you mention Unforgiven, 2 was crap, but Unforgiven 3 has a thought out feel to it.
this song is probably the best song out of the recent releases and its fun to play
I think it is also my favourite from the newest tracks!
96% on a forst playthought on a new song is just amazing ... well done.
2:22 a more disastrous duo is chainbrain and arpeggiated chord patterns in rocksmith

It has that Spit out the bone feeling, which is Amazing. This song is really good
YESS, ive been waiting for this, thank you chainbrain for keepin up with these songs!!!
That was cool, it does definitely have Hardwired/Moth Into Flame vibes but I still really dig it. Can’t wait for the album
Looking forward to checking it out and playing all the songs!
@@Chainbrain Oh yeah, it’s gonna be good. I still remember playing Lux Æterna for my guitar masterclass for college back in December and the song had only been out for two weeks lol
Stream was fun yesterday!
Back at it again today!!

It's a great song!
MATALACAAAAA

Not in love with the chorus but the riffs are damn tasty
Man the chorus is the best part of the song
can you play soldiers of the wastelands by dragonforce i think you will have a lot of fun playing that and fury of the storm as well
Does anyone know how to get that little thing that tells u your percent and everything
rocksniffer, its an app to put on your stream display
@@Chainbrain thank you
If you actually go through with the metallica album stream I'd be down to watch

Look Mom i made it into a Chainbrain video
im proud of u
Do you use your own amp or just the instrument sound from the game ?
All sounds are from Rocksmith!
@@Chainbrain Oh cool !
This track is as cool as Chainbrain's guitar game you cool thanks🤘👍
thanks buddy 😀
The instrumental absolutely sounds like Spit Out the Bone recreated by an ChatGPT
It’s funny you use “The Unforgiven” as the example for thought out solos. When in fact, it was an improvised solo, and is the direct reason they do improvised solos. 😊
well i guess it ruined it all because the new solos suck ass
Though I realize it may have been Nothing else Matters. Not sure.
Nothing Else Matters is also James Hetfield soloing haha
@@Chainbrain Yeah, they aren't great. I like some of the solos from the new songs, like this song, except for the first part as well as Screraming Suicide's solo. but none of them are great.
Its good but its no saint banger 🤟🏽
I don't play for an audience, I fret natural harmonics and take the points
Yeah its a tradeoff you have to make some times hahah

You got points taken off because you weren't "Feeding on the rack of lamb!" lol

Great, you play this. But point is... do you like it?
I say I like it into he first 30 seconds lol
song is so boring and empty good playthrough tho
