You are so lucky lol. My crank sensor was failing on me summer '21 with no SES light. When it got hot the X would shut off at random. Once pulling out from a stop sign, again at a stop light, and the final straw was doing 70 down the interstate. Threw it in neutral, coasted about 10-15 seconds fired it up and back in drive. I made the mistake of replacing both cam sensors and not the crank and this was the dangerous result. When the crank sensor finally failed completely I got a SES light to diagnose. I too went to Walmart and bought the Autel bluetooth obd reader that connects to your phone. For $50 that's a bad ass tool to have at all times! Thank you for all the years of great videos on your X that have helped me out in quite a few pickles! Proud to be a part of the high mile club! 🤘

That sensor also gave me issues on the 2013 xterra, at first it was random engine stopping without a code being logged, second time was at a ski resort shifting at high rpms, no code logged, 3rd time was at the ski resort high rpms and engine stoppage at idle but it did produce a code flagging the sensor. I stopped at wally world parking lot for 10 mins and it reset itself. Drove home, ordered a new oem sensor. The sensor they sent me had a metallic housing but no isues since the replcement.
I had that happen to me once. Crankshaft Position Sensor failed and the X died at a stoplight in Charleston SC rush hour traffic!! Not good. Fortunately it started back up and I was able to limp it home which was only a couple of miles. It was not happy. I swapped out the sensor with a new Nissan OEM part.
