- Whats up guys this is my first video posted to youtube and its of my 2005 GMC Duramax 6.6L LLY . Some mods I forgot to mention like AFE Turbo inlet and I have the FPRV shimmed because my truck kept loosing fuel pressure under high boost. Any advice or comments please feel free to give your opinion I'm always open to learn more about these trucks. Subscribe for more videos and comment anything you'd like to see on the truck thanks. Also, all the work on this truck was done by me and I am by no means a diesel mechanic so if you guys want any tutorials on any of the mods I've done to my truck be more than welcome to comment asking for a video!

Johnny I would recommend doing the fuel filter delete with that air dog- also get a sump. Sinister cold air intake
FPR my truck did it a lot and I replaced that solenoid and runs perfect I'd start with that since it's the cheapest

Take a look at your fuel system primer on top of your fuel filter housing, common for seals to go bad in those on duramaxes which introduces air into the fuel system causing hard starts and even hazing when they get real bad. You'll know its bad if you push the primer button down and see diesel pissing out of the top, shouldn't leak at all when priming.
Stumbled onto your video. Lift pump filters and oem fuel filters will cause the issue you describe @ cold start. Had slightly similar in my Gmc 05 lly 3500 drw. Lift pump filters were done. Purchased the truck and noticed these looked old. Changed them out and problem hasn't happened since. Drain water seperator once a month recommended.

If you’ve bled the air multiples times, then you’re pulling in air from somewhere. You have a crack somewhere, stock bleeder valve?

Nice Truck! Thanks for the video! Are you running a stock turbo? I have a lly and other than the down pipe and the intake and elbow I haven't done a thing. I just don't know where to start. Any suggestions?

Yes stock turbo and I would recommend getting your egr deleted. You’ll be amazed at the crap that comes out of your factory egr
Also do a pcv reroute there’s a million videos on how to do it and would definitely get you some efi live
AND add a lift pump to your list of stuff lol kinda pricy but worth it man

Did u ever think about welding the y bridge in. I having the same problem. Ive tryed springs they still blow out. Im thinking about welding mine. I cant even turn mine up off 1 still blowing it out.
What i did was i bought the pro fab egr delete kit and it fixed the problem. They include a metal bracket that holds your y bridge from popping off, but mine still leaks you hear a slight "woosh" sound after high boost. I will be going with an upgraded y bridge kit soon, $600 later lol

Does the efi tune make it sound loud, or what kind of exhaust does it have?
efi live definitely gives your truck a new sound and i have a full 4 inch turbo back straight pipe not sure the brand
EFI Live is completely rewriting the trucks ECU...You can make it sound anyway that you want.
When you put the Airdog 150 on did you delete the factory fuel filter? It sounds like its losing fuel pressure for a sec

I no longer have this truck sadly , but no factory fuel filter remained on the truck . Never found out the problem with it
Love the truck all I’d do different is color match the whole grill and bumper but I personally hate chrome
funny i just ordered chrome fuels! lol but i am going to probably plasti dip the grill and bumper white i see alot of people do it

Bypass the feul primer mine was doing the same thing and I bypassed it when I got a lift pump and it running great now

I'm looking at buying a 2005 gmc Duramax w/ 150k miles. Would you recommend?
For the price I can also get an 07 lbz Duramax w/ 180k.
T k it’s totally up to you. 150K or 180K is still plenty of life left for a diesel. A lot of people like the lbz better but my lly never gave me problems and I loved it I bought mine and it had 156K!

All diesels do it, its your turbo getting air through to push the accessed exhaust through.
Midwest Diesel Society it never use to do it before and a lot of trucks I see don’t do it that’s why I was curious
if its a deleted truck has aftermarket intake also it will sound like that, but thats all it is doing is getting accessed exhaust out of the system.

From the FASS Website but you can get it from Ebay aslong as it is a legit FASS products seller

Get your balance rates checked by somebody with a snap-on scanner macro or Mac tools professional scanner see if they're plus or minus four

Johnny Almeida 100% Fuel pressure regulator, mine did same thing at start up and I replaced it, never did it again

Get the PPE fuel race valve. Stock has a spring and basically this is a solid bolt. Keeps it from failing in the future and slightly adds some power.

came with a whole kit was like $450 or something along those lines came with headlights tailights cab lights everything the company is spyder
