You prolly dont care but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me!
Have always been a fan of Juha. Seen hi m drive many times on rally NZ from early 90s onwards. Always in the top 5 year in year out. Toyota, ford, subaru, hyundai. Smooth and fast driver.
It mostly comes down to personal preference and what you're accustomed to. While Finnish agglutinative language and individual words are often slightly longer than in English they are not _that_ much longer. Left = Vasen Right = Oikee 7 Flat / Täys 6 Easy / Helppo 5 Medium / Eri 4 Kay / Koo 3 Square / Nopee 2 Bad / Hidas 1 Hairpin / Serpo And so on
Probably, but, there's always been drivers who are longer and higher in the air than others. I always thought that Kankkunen has a driving style similar to Colin McRae.
@@chakko007 you should put them other way around. Kankkunen was before McRae. Nothing away from Colin, but he really didn’t use his head. His mentality was right if you wanted to win some rallies, just like Ari Vatanen. Juha won both rallies and championships by thinking about the bigger picture and not just this current moment as Colin too often did. He’s a true champion. What a career and skill
Asfalt Rallies should be banned and cars should be changed to way they were in old times. Then driving sideways was faster than going on straight line, nowadays these french drivers are the best in the business, and they never go sideways and love tarmac.. and that is not rallying. Only gravel and snow are what rally really is about.
TheQneb Sentimental bullshit. You know Monte Carlo rally is older than most gravel rallies? I guess it is easier to blame surface than the real problem, which is that there is something wrong with the Finnish driver coaching.
lol mate you say asphalt rallies are too easy for drivers yet Henri Toivanen who was a grade A Creme of the crop driver died on one. Corsica, and Monte Carlo are some of the best rally stages of all time.
Tarmac stages are technical as fuck, it's easy to go sideways but it takes real skill to adopt a good racing line on a track you haven't learnt yet, and if you are not versatile enough for that - you'll never win.
Look at those hands. Even car is on air and slide, its still all time on total control. Juha Kankkunen, Master of Arts Rallying

Holy shit... world champion or not, this guy must be crazy to drive like this.
Пилот вообще мастер!!!
absolute perfect!
Jari Matti Latvala made a comment about his video on this years rally Finland. That was cool!
jump to crest, stay left to easy right, JUMP
Excellent! Makes you wonder what happened after that :)
After that he was quite high in general clasification 🙂
Yeah Juha liked them in English and also English is much more faster language than Finnish.
1:28 there is actually Finnish mixed in.

Some years are better than others, in 1998 I "reborn"
;-)
Anyone also have some remarkable years in their life, isn't it?
mistrz !!!!
Those jumps look pretty harsh compared to more modern WRC cars. Suspension travel has changed a lot over the years.

@@max27stoner I didn't say that Kankkunen mimiced McRae. I said that they have a similar driving style.
Yeah he's crash landing that escort, but vintage rally is intense like that
@sebastiannaumanen1819 Rear suspension was terrible on Escort WRC compared to other manufacturers, it basically bottomed out on the jumps.
Colin McRae Rally 2.0:)
this car is not even in the game. i think youre thinking of the original colin mcrae rally.
The best!!!
Badass!!!
Vanha kunnon ralli englanti.
Classic!
Tuntuu alaseläsä nuo hypyt sohvan pohjallakin.
Im curious to know how does the corner speeds compare to todays wrc cars.
Todays WRC cars are about 4-5seconds faster per kilometr of special stage.
Sainz on the same stage (Mökkiperä):

Major difference with streering wheel. Carlos had more small moves..all the time
Gilaaaaaa
good times
0:38 ... Jesus ?
how the fuck thats even possible.. even with 4wd in that road & speeds?
Rally cars should still have manual gearbox. Rallying used be fun to watch in the 80s and 90s.Now it's boring.
Ian Purcell Modern rally car still uses manual gearbox.
That's a sequential stick.
impressionante!!!
What stage was that ?
when You still changed gears like a MAN ...
that's a sequental lol
This is not easy
HAX

I love tarmac rallies. But i think there should be more mixed rallies. That would make a hell of a challenge.
