For $79.99 Canadian where I am from = HARD PASS. I cannot be bothered to pay for these games at these prices anymore. Especially with all of the fanboysm reviews that ignore all of the issues this game has. When will we ever get a console release that plays a solid 60 FPS? Weren’t we all asking for this back at the end of the PS3 days? Like come on, quite worrying about how pretty the grass and trees look and let me get some smooth movement without jutters and stutters and input lag. Everyone CRATERS and just puts up with this horsesh!t and buys these games anyways which tells these companies they can release games that aren’t polished.
Whoever is calling the wandering wight one of the hardest bosses in the souls genre should never review video games again. He was harder than I expected for this game, but as hard as Orphan of Kos? Malenia? Isshin? Sister Friede? Nameless King? Demon of Hatred? Consort Radahn? Hell, even comparing the wandering wight’s difficulty to the first tree sentinel in Elden Ring is ludicrous. He’s definitely similar to the Tree Sentinal, in that he’s an over tuned early boss ment to be skipped and returned to, but he doesn’t rank in the top twenty most difficult bosses imo. Even though he took me over an hour, he doesn’t rank.
Agreed. His move set is extremely easy to learn. For most people, the Tree Sentinel is not beatable with a new character but Wandering Wight is absolutely beatable off the rip. He took me about 5 tries.
I watched Fighting Cowboy beat him on his second try, and not just beat him but beat the brakes off the Wight. As someone above said, fight him aggressively not defensively and he’s much easier, there are also 4 pillars around the arena that you can get him to crash into which gives you some free damage on him which also helps
Representation on the national level is a big deal. There are a lot of countries that are looking to prove they can play in the big leagues. But it's wild that this is being hailed as the first Chinese AAA, when Genshin and all those Sword & Fairy games have had $100M+ budgets all this time. Hype aside, I don't think any PC+PS5 game is ever going to match mobile-gacha revenues. But maybe it's about prestige, instead of money.
We cannot discount how crucial the absence of competition is to the game's success. Would Black Myth be doing as well if it wasn't releasing in a single-player wasteland? Would it be as successful if it wasn't surrounded by unwanted soulless looter shooters and the vitriol they have accrued? The game looks great, I have been on its bandwagon for years now so I am glad to see it is getting praise, but we cannot separate its success from Western Studios failures. Black Myth Wukong's success serves as yet another example of what Western audiences want, high-quality single player games not beset by identity politics. The question is, will Western Studios finally accept this, or will they continue to push out slop nobody wants, losing hundreds of millions of dollars in the process?
played it for 8 hours but the appeal to keep playing feels like its dwindling already....the lore is not going to be to everybodys taste....... Only 8 hours so ill keep going for now and see what happens.. but yeah ill give it a 6/10 up to now..
What??? Everyone loves Goku so just that alone will keep people playing, you also act like God of War using both Greek and Norse mythology didn’t keep a ton of people interested in playing them. Black Myth is a solid 7 game around Lies of P or Stellar Blade level, certainly below Fromsoft games, GoW, Nioh, DMC, etc. It's a huge success because it's made by Chinese for Chinese so it's boosted by their patriotism to see a good AAA game made by their government sponsored dev
Game looks dope but they clearly botted their numbers... come on now. 100k reviews in like 8 hours? No shot. Like triple the amount of elden ring which was the most anticipated game in forever. Me and my other dev buddies were watching them go up and theres just nooooo way.
Chinese people love this character, he’s a national hero to them, so yes it’s possible because they all bought the game. You also act like this game hasn’t been highly anticipated since its debut trailer 4 years ago
Most likely they just put the word out on QQ to have folks immediately buy & review. Remember that Tencent is behind this, and they basically own social media in China.
Can’t imagine how anyone can play this knowing how violently misogynistic, homophobic, fatphobic and toxic the workplace the company that made this game is… Never mind, of course I can imagine it! Those are all cultural values shared by the west and ‘communist’ China!
Because enjoying a good, well made game has nothing to do with the politics of the devs who made it? Believe it or not, gamers actually DON'T want politics or ideology propaganda in their games, they want good stories and engaging gameplay.
@@Arcadia95 You love politics in your games, they just have to be your politics. Then you don’t consider it political at all, because in your mind your politics are just the way things are/are supposed to be. Everything is political, including to the choice to ‘not’ be political, because that is a subjective, biased appraisal of what is and is not important. Choosing to “not be political” to not alienate potential consumers is political, because you are putting your success ahead of taking a stand on something, which materially is the same as taking a stand for the other position. You can say you don’t want politics in your games all you want, the fact is there will always be politics in media, because all media is made by people, and all people have their world view shaped by their politics. Any attempt to be unbiased will itself be biased by what your subjective idea of what bias looks like. To someone who thinks slavery is good, portraying slavery as neither good nor bad would be unbiased in their eyes, but this would be biased towards being pro-slavery as it portrays it as something worth debating.

I would argue that Hollywood's pursuit of the Chinese market has not been a net positive for the movie industry. It allows an authoritarian, oppressive regime too much influence over the industry & society. It was only a couple weeks ago where French security guards were ripping signs & towels away from fans at the Olympic Games IN FRANCE, simply bc those items said the word Taiwan on them, no political message, just that word to cheer on their countrymen.

this games a middle finger to sweet baby inc and all their kind
I dont like hard games. That being said, this game is pretty good. Im a Dragon ball fan so of course i was going to play this
7 out of 10, not enough female propaganda
Wow some fragile people are coping hard with the success of this game. Dont hate, eat the facts that this game is absolutely earthshattering
Game looks great do a big part of its success is that it’s the Chinaest game to ever China kinda how endgame was to the rest of the world
Man this game looks good!
Take notes,Western devs!😎
Space Marine 2 is coming out in 2 weeks
I have to finish Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn before I start this game. But I am ready!
Suicide Squad lol
I played the game for 30 mins and beat him in like 3 tries. He wasn't hard at all lol
@@DoctorCarthhe is difficult if you play conservatively, if you play aggressively he was pretty easy since he seem pretty prone to stagger
I don’t see what the fuss is. I beat him on the first try. He was pretty easy for me. I just didn’t let up. But the snake guy took me about 20 tries.
Wukong is a solid game, very pretty, but not nearly worthy of the hype it's getting
Who made you arbiter of hype?
😮
Reject Sweet Baby Inc's ideologies, return to Monkey!
You mean the Chinese government? Why do you hate women?
80 percent Chinese players
played it for 8 hours but the appeal to keep playing feels like its dwindling already....the lore is not going to be to everybodys taste....... Its not a souls game or a souls like............We need to stop calling everything a souls like lol...... It looks visually great but the combat is kinda meh.........
Sometimes I feel like some of these comments are industry plants to downplay certain games as part of an agenda
@@robdurfee6861 No industry plant lol although they definitely do exist. Just my opinion thats all. Ill up my score to 7/10 just for you... The industry would never do that :)
I know I'm old bc I just don't understand why people like these kinds of games...
a game from china that is being dominated by chinese players, anything new
Ps5 is best version I don’t make the rules
Lol
So much misinfo on the technical aspect from this guy
This game is not a souls-like...
I hate the bloody game
First one here!
I already bought the game. You don't have to keep trying to sell it to me.
@@DoctorCarth As I said, these violent bigotries are cultural values of the west and China. People like you would love living in China, if it weren’t for all the Chinese people.
Ofc you can't imagine. Because game has nothing to do with all these things you mention. They're just in your head
This game will be dead after 1 month.
Have you played it? It’s pretty good man. I doubt it will be dead anytime soon. It’s an excellent game so far.
Probably. But it's a slow games-year, so let them ride the wave.
@@eurothejii7328 unless they’re planning on making it a live service game, the phrase “dead game” doesn’t really apply, does it? They had 2 million steam players on day one. If it doesn’t sell a single copy more, the game was a success.
I will never understand why people keep hyping up the most boring looking games
To each their own but if you think this game looks boring, wtf do you think is awesome? Probably Rimworld or Depp Rock Galactic…or something tells me you’re a live service simp
Slow [gaming] news year 🤷♀
these click bait titles are abysmal, seriously.
What about the diversity?
There’s 80 something bosses. Def good on the diversity front. The fodder mobs are less diverse so far, but I’m still in the first area. Haven’t even fought the first main boss.
This game will be dead after month.
why
It is single player not live service game.people finish it now and then it is done.
@@eurothejii7328so it won’t be dead people will have just completed it?
i'm just wondering if we'll ever get to see how many chinese people vs american people played it
it's badass regardless. love to see this type of success
