I like that it's just a video in his studio, it feels more personal.
*_Wholesome!_* 🤗🥰
More interresting than a Genius interview
Whenever someone i respect and admire in terms of the music making process gives us ANYTHING in the stuido behind the scenes it feels intimate. And personal.
imagine if he started making these kind of videos of every song he made...
Clearly thjat is the move yo - Crazy to see how he puts it together
I would love that!
Ueeesss please

Calvin by himself made better deconstructed than Genius with tons of people. Love that dog part.
No
FACTS!
nah, this was more show than tell what he did. Genius is better at actually explaining what was done.

lmao...huh?
I love how LOTS of artist start off by making bangers and radio/festival ready music but when they become financially secure they start making what they truly love, and its always funky sexy smooth music.
But Calvin went full circle, he started with music like this. I guess the trend is not just festival vs chill, but the fact that at around 2011 the sound of Bigroom House came around the corner and people (especially those who were only just feeling attracted by that style) wouldn't be impressed unless a piece of electronic had a massive drop. So that influenced even the electro-prog house genre and some trance stuff too, it was the signature of the sound of then (which is also why under every single EDM track of the time you'll find comments saying they wished that bigroom or 'the old artist x' came back with that specific sound). Now producers feel ok to make a chill tune too. Which is good, diversity is good for everyone.
I'm kinda saying that it's not just the money-argument, 'cause Calvin has been the highest paid DJ since about 2012. After that year he never had to really worry anyway.
I saw his summer playlist, and he included great old-school soul and r&b, and my favorite songs from Sly and the Family Stone (If You Want Me To Stay), Prince (I Wanna Be Your Lover) and a 1972 hit from the Dramatics, which is one of my favorite soul songs of all time. I knew there was a reason his music spoke to me.
@@justinusjulius5007 I feel he doesn't get the appreciation from critics he deserves. His peers respect him and he can get virtually an artist to work with him, but he's still weirdly underrated. I love his deep love for soul music and how he's trying to do his own version of it.
That raw Weeknd clip sounds like he recorded himself on the phone and sent it to Calvin like "Yo Cal, what u think about that?"
He probably did
Lol
Isn't it crazy the Calvin goes all in with analog insttuments and Skrillex goes crazy with digital oscillators and distortions and both are epic legends in producing.....
It has a lot to do with the budget
@@victorpalace1466 no it doesn't ahahah skrillex has heaps of money, it just works better for his style often to be digital
@@ProdIMMORTAL agreed. it’s all preference considering they both have money to blow. It’s also proof that there’s countless ways to create a unique amazing sound
I think the difference is skrillex makes or used to make most of his music on the road, on his laptop and then mix it in the box but in his studio. Also the sound he got known for isnt really achievable with analog synths unless you process them like hell in the box, which then loses the point of having them coming from an analog synth imo :)
Plz don't compare that kid with Calvin Harris. Calvin is a true artist
Those weeknd’s acapellas got me goosebumps.
"So Calvin, how many keyboards would you like in your studio?"
Calvin: "yes"
I thought that he produce the song using Logic Pro X ,fl studio...
But damn,he produced that song like its was in the 80's
He was using logic Pro X bro but only to track the instruments. He also would have used a mix of hardware and plugins to mix it. In the 80s they used a tape machine to track.
He was using logic. he's just recording this stuff in
He doesn't use fl studio. He used to work in Logic Pro....now jumped to Logic Pro X
fl studio lol
bruh he is using logic
Gotta say I miss his old style of music, but feel like this allows him to truly unfold his musical genius. Regardless, this is amazing in its own right
Not a big fan of his new stuff but he is and had always been an incredible producer, perfect mix between "classic", analog and numeric instruments, and mixing with artists from any kind of music 🔥
I miss so much the atmosphere from 18months and Motion, it was another time 😊
@RodriVlogs Actually didn't know they weren't critically aclaimed. I personally absolutely love both albums, but that's of course very subjective lol. Have to agree that his releases from Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 and forward, has given us a better idea of just how good he is and how much he can actually do. This is something I think his old style of music didn't allow him to do/explore so I'm very happy that he gets to do that now. And the guy really seems to enjoy as well which is just as important! Just hope we get to have som new "old stuff" in the future haha
@@fostinmusic Same dude! Those albums just were on aother level! Just like you I'm not the biggest fan of his newer stuff from a listening perspective. However, looking at it from a production standpoint I'm really impressed with this, and glad that he gets to express himself in a different way - sometimes you just have to switch things up (unfortunately, for the two of us haha). Just hope we will get some of those old vibes in the future!
@RodriVlogs Very well said! No matter what, his music is always top notch, regardless of genre. Have to give him a lot of respect for that!
What do you mean by his old style?
Long ago i stumbled upon "Summer". I have liked most of his music since then. He's very talented.
Agreed, he's one of the few dj's that I like and admire his work.
Agree summer is a great song
Summer is pretty recent and he was full blowed up at that time, so u came pretty late
Same as you x) his music is my favourite and he is my favourite too
wdym stumbled upon, that stuff was constantly on the radio for an entire year lmao
Those raw vocals tho 😍
yeah. The Weeknd's voice is butterly smooth.
@@sabtuxahadthey were with autotune on, if you listen closely
@@merynn5255 no shit. It's the studio version of course there would be a slight autotune. Go and look up his live performances like call out my name.
@@sabtuxahad no need to be rude, jeez
i was just saying it just in case😅😶
@@merynn5255 I mean you can't blame me. You already ruined the vibe with an obvious fact
Calvin Harris and The Weeknd are perfect
RodriVlogs of course!
YASSSSS i agree
The weekend aint!
Indeed
Gesaffelstein and weeknd too
Calvin is an absolute music genius. Produced the song like it was the 80’s. His production has always been great, and him collaborating with The Weeknd was a great move
I really like how Calvin Harris evolved his videos, his style, his music. 😊👏
His way
1:43 he summoned daft punk thru that thing
Hahaha foreal😂😂
I feel it coming
lmfao
@@OMrkithO ???? xD there is no 303 in i feel it comin

This dude "Calvin Harris" knows how to create vibe
0:34 - 0:35 is the exact moment this song was blessed as a hit 🙏🏻
He learnt from all the comments on ‘slide’ and now it’s in landscape lol
What they said to him?
for real tho first time i saw the thumbnail of the slide deconstruction i thought it was someone who made it on snapchat or stuff
They said “film horizontally” and now look at him
When he plays weeknds vocals raw that be HITTIN
WWWWOOOWWWW The weeknd + Calvin Harris = beautiful thing

I love the obnoxiously high frame rate this was filmed in lol.
You do realize this is closer to what we experience in real life though... right?
@@ryanwaasdorp this tripped me out. can you explain?
@@fucc773 24fps is not even close to what we humans perceive as real. We are capable of seeing hundreds of frames per second. Thus, filming in 60fps like in this video is closer to what we would see in real life than a 24fps video.
@@ryanwaasdorp ohhh okay. cheers
@@ryanwaasdorp I won’t deny what you are saying, but 24 fps on video will look more natural
This guy is a legit "producer" along with The guy who film scored in The Black Panther.
insane vibes, def feel all of those vintage synths
How many keyboards do you need?
Calvin Harris: yes
The amount of talent that Calvin puts in this song is crazy! Love the song btw, play it on repeat.
thank you for making these
You have no idea how much I love these videos, thank you so much!
Perfectly put together great song and production
This is just great stuff. Really makes you appreciate the music more.
So amazing to get this experience through the making of something this great! thanks a lot for sharing this and please keep them coming
It’s beautiful. I’ve looked at this for 5 hours now.
mans has a Guitar Center in his Studio
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.. best producer going.. he can literally make anything, any genre and it’s a hit. Legend.
We need more of these! It's truly fascinating
I feel like the dog should have been included in the credits.
yes
Please make more of those deconstructed video's! They are really helpful.
Love seeing that TB 303 in action 😍 one of my favorite synthesizers. Great instrumental Calvin
The best video i've seen in this year!

Perfection.. xotwod, those unmixed Abel's voice is so damn smooth.

Great audio it helps me relax
Plus the doggy is so cute
Calvin es realmente increíble y fantástico!
Finally he uploaded a music deconstruction video in landscape
been listening a long time but for some reason I just now looked you up on RUclips, Dude You Rock!!!!!
So many classic pieces of gear in one room I wonder how he's still getting some rest but he's truly a genius when it comes to composing we gotta admit that !
The textures and layers. People don't realize how much creativity goes into these productions. One if my favorite producers is Nile Rodgers and I'm always amazed at all the instrumentation- where each individual part is laid down one at a time to make a sonic creation. That's what he's doing here.
Creativity is a funny thing sometimes. I find that some days when creating music, the music just kinda speaks to me and tells me what to do with it, but at other times it can be difficult, but you just have to keep creating and not sit around waiting for inspiration
THIS... IS... ART.....
Moreeee like this pls thank you!!!
I’m in awe of his creative process 😩😩😩
This gives me Slide feat. Frank Ocean throwback. Please release Funk Wav Bounce Vol.2 ASAP
Perfeito demais! ♥️🇧🇷
Best video in the tube!!!
We need more of these Calvin❤️❤️❤️
This man has every analog keyboard in the arturia collection
1:28 I like the way he's eating while producing...the level of determination 🔥
Wow watching the creative process is so cool.
This is really fun to watch because it gives a lot of inspiration to those who want to produce 🔥🔥
