Goddamn when I first listened to this song I was high with a couple of friends in a car and one of my homies was bumping Drake's new album. We were chilling in an In N Out parking lot high out of our minds and all of a sudden we hear this shit and we all just went silent and I swear we all just sunk into the leather seats and for the next 5 minutes we were in heaven. Mario Garcia nah they coexist. This is the producers era tho. Some rappers don’t need a beat and just go in with flow but that’s a small group that does this.
Juan Leyva but it’s what always brings attention and keeps the artist seeming like they’re always bringing something new to the table. I listen to rap battles and a cappella’s all the time but they get boring right away. Without the music, there wouldn’t be any point of listening to an artist for longer than the first couple times. They do coexist, yet without the music, the artist doesn’t flourish, but the music can always stand alone.
