      Publications that are inclusive about size will often neglect to feature older models. But one exception is Gudrun Sjoden's clothing catalogue. I kept seeing this wonderful older woman with flowing silver hair in her catalogues. I found out that her name is Ingmari Lamy. She's a Swedish model who became known in the late 1960s, and she's had a long, impressive career. Yes, she's thin. But she's 77 years old and she rocks those clothes!

      Donna Karan did not come up with cold shoulder tops. She reintroduced them. They go back a very long way. Most clothing trends are not new, just a reintroduction of something that was in style long ago. The Victorians loved ruffles. There points throughout the Victorian age where gown had ruffles, ruching, lace and cutouts all on the same gown. Fashion simply recycles.

    I appreciate your insight, but I do tend to wear what makes me comfortable and happy. I think it's the confidence and joy in a person that is fashionable. I saw a woman in her 80s (I did ask her as I could tell she embraced her age) dancing with a flower in her hair and a Bohemian dress at Downtown Disney. She looked charming and beautiful because the best accessory was her smile and just enjoying the moment. I've been a title holder in CA (not expected and surreal experience) and met top actresses, actors and models - fashion really comes from within. Thanks for your wisdom and knowledge. I admit I am 57 and wear cold shoulder and ripped jeans but have gotten compliments. I'm sure eye rolls, too. C'est la vie! I will try some of your suggestions too. I don't wear capris or ankle or pants bc I have swollen ankles. When I say I don't care about what people think about how I dress I mean I dress for myself and it really is just as easy to be pulled together than it is to just pull clothes on. I'm not parting with my 20 year old bands T's, my 20 year old Levi's that have natural frayed bottoms and knee rips, and at 5'11 with slim hips and no waist. So, no choice but low rise and it's less muffin top.
    Any tall woman knows you can't wear off the rack high rise bc crotch to narrow wait is not proportional.
    Yes
    I know I'm an outlier, but so are shorter, thicker women.
    So wear what looks good and feels comfortable on you.
    Again, most general styles, I agree, we age out of things like ruffle mini skirts.

  • @ellasmaldon2042
    @ellasmaldon2042 2 месяца назад +2

    I do wear low-rise jeans or or other trousers even with skirts. I prefer that for the reason that the high rise is not suiting my proportions. I'm 1.72. I'm an x shape, but my torso is quite short. If I wear high rise, I look like I'm just hip and legs, and I hate that as it looks very unproportunal. I do it for the only reason to make my torso appear longer. It takes a while, but you can find low rise, which does not give you a muffin top. At least, i can. Sometimes, I can get away with mid rise.

I'm short waisted and anything thats goes up higher than the low waisted sits right under my boobs which is uncomfortable. I do like your videos so I can tweak them a bit. While the cold shoulder may be out of style at the moment...I'll wear a light scarf that flows over my shoulders IF I feel like it. I had to come back and add...Those short pants ladies are wearing at their ankles...I just can't. Back in the day they were called high waters and I still think of Urkle everytime I see them.
