Damn I feel bad for strangelove. She viewed Hal as not Hueys child, but of her and the bosses child. This game, ground zeroes and peacewalker are so intertwined that I consider these 3 games together as Metal Gear Solid 5
I still can't believe XOF wrecked my base that I had since Peace Walker. They way Ocelot narrates the happening after PW and GZ were absolutely bone-chilling.
@@CursedWheelieBin More accurately, Cipher was the name of the organization when Zero was still in charge. Later on, when it was run by AIs overseen by Donald Anderson aka Sigint, it was known as the Patriots
@@CursedWheelieBin The Patriots name was used initially as they were formed by Big Boss, Zero, EVA, Sigint, Para-medic and Ocelot. I wish that these tapes could be animated or illustrated (like Peace Walker's comic book style cutscenes) at the very least. I can only imagine how scenarios would play out visually. Like, just imagine the Miller burger tapes being an actual cutscene you can watch! That would be glorious...
Some of these tapes are missing the grain audio effect Makes me believe these were supposed to be cutscenes before they had to move them as cassette tapes
I love this compilation George. You’re pretty good. Side-note: I also love how music plays during certain tapes, I like to imagine Ocelot like ending a sentence then *presses play on atmospheric cinematic ost* and beginning a new sentence
5:46:28 this incident is the reason why Zero created Venom Snake: a flawless and poisonous imitation to strike back at the man that wronged him, while he "hangs on" to the real one and they continue to fulfil their interpretations of The Boss' will.
When I first played through, I honestly thought that the entirety of DD was being absolutely paranoid but once I finished the game, and even now, I took a moment to listen to the tapes regarding his interrogation and correlating to the second outbreak. That was the turning point in my opinion.
I wonder if people who complain about this games story actually listened to the cassette tapes, almost 7 hours worth and a lot of it being important to the story. I would have loved a few longer cutscenes but it was great to have the cassette tapes as an optional sort of thing, of course you shouldn’t talk about the story being bad unless you listened to them.
Well there is a thing in media called "Show, don't tell" and having 90% of the story be optional audio logs kinda ruins that for me, and a lot of people. Every other MGS game had it's story be told while you play Also I'm sorry for the response after a year, but this really bothered me haha
@@thatguyknownaswill8180 Because sitting for collectively 6 hours listening to tapes isnt ideal for a lot of people and not very interesting, like venom as a character
Imagine a drinking game where you take a shot every time Code Talker says “vocal chord parasite”. You’d be dead after the 2nd or 3rd tape conversation 😂
Love how Ocelot and Kaz are completely confused as to why the kids would want to leave mother base, and then after that conversation, they immediately start bickering over who's going to get the privilege of interrogating the kids. 4:18:00
That first Paz tape... holy hell. All 3 of them on stage... Kaz deciding for her... First time performing... You can read so deep into that tape alone. It makes me want to go back and analyze all of them.
i have a question about code talker at 4:04:15, that weird noise that code talker emitted sounded he was transforming into something before he was stopped by skull face, could someone give some background on what that ability was
Why do i get the feeling that a very subdued and faint acoustic version of the Old Snake theme from MGS4 would play well during the "AI Pod's Final Recording"?

Has anyone ever made a objective list of all the most significant story cassettes that have cool reveals in them instead of just a bunch of info that don't exactly have huge revelations. For example one of them that revealed the parasites were found in the cobra unit from mgs3? Stuff like that I'd consider huge reveals while others aren't so big. I wonder if there is any summary list out there for all of the cassettes.
35:03 I always wondered how they were somehow able to fly a helicopter from Afghanistan or Zaire to the Seychelles. They used the boat from the beginning.
Some complained that they used this way to tell portions of the story. But seeing how the tapes are like 6 hours (taking off a bit because most mission briefings and those tapes at the end of the video doesn't add much to the story), it's hard to imagine them doing it any other way. Producing cutscenes takes a lot of time and money. With the already highly ambitious level of this game, why expect every small story detail to be a cutscene? And would it have made a difference? Most of the tapes are simply conversations. How much more entertaining would it have been if instead of the tapes we got cutscenes of characters just sitting at a table talking...

God, I don't know why I get so teary eyed when I hear the last tape for Paz. Just the whole idea of it, really feels like a dying loved one made a final recording to tell you that you'll be okay, but not to let anger and sadness get control of you.
😭😭😭
Teary-eyed? Seriously?
I didn't get teary eyed when i heard but, but it was very sad, indeed. (I am from a non-english speaking country, so, sorry for bad english)
Damn I feel bad for strangelove. She viewed Hal as not Hueys child, but of her and the bosses child. This game, ground zeroes and peacewalker are so intertwined that I consider these 3 games together as Metal Gear Solid 5
4:58:33 here is the legendary burgers of Kazuhira Miller
Say peace
Age hasnt slowed you down one bit George!
Bro this is so helpful. Thank you so much for making this video George, it really helps a lot..... you're pretty good!
Went to Sleep listening to these, woke up as Big Boss.
Successful hypnotherapy
@@cellardweller5245if he did this for 6 month’s his brain would actually place this in his subconscious.
@@BiggerBossN313good idea. I'm on for round 2 Lol
I still can't believe XOF wrecked my base that I had since Peace Walker. They way Ocelot narrates the happening after PW and GZ were absolutely bone-chilling.
What is Cipher?
Is it just the Patriots, led by Major Zero from MGS3? 🤔
@@CursedWheelieBinIt was the human part of The Patriots. When they all died, the AI became rogue, mantaining an united world yes, but in war (MGS4).
Then after Big Boss ditched them they became Cipher and they were led by Zero. I don't know the specifics when it comes to the other members. I would guess that several of the others weren't around the entire time until their deaths. Perhaps someone's more informed on that. Then, The Patriots name was also used for the AI system. I don't know if that was exactly an official name though, since the system was being kept a secret. "La li lu le lo"...
I wish that these tapes could be animated or illustrated (like Peace Walker's comic book style cutscenes) at the very least.
I can only imagine how scenarios would play out visually.
Like, just imagine the Miller burger tapes being an actual cutscene you can watch!
That would be glorious...
Some of these tapes are missing the grain audio effect
Makes me believe these were supposed to be cutscenes before they had to move them as cassette tapes
One day someone should make all of these tapes into cutscenes to see how they look.
@@AlexandeRSciswoR I like the idea
Its true!
Ye
@@AlexandeRSciswoR That would be a great idea!
(1:34:31 - 1:45:29) “The AI Pod’s Final Recording” is tough to listen to. It makes me hate Huey even more.
Every other MGS game had it's story be told while you play
Also I'm sorry for the response after a year, but this really bothered me haha
Or how they complain how venom had no dialogue but had loads more here.
@@thatguyknownaswill8180 Because sitting for collectively 6 hours listening to tapes isnt ideal for a lot of people and not very interesting, like venom as a character
Did it, story still sucks ass, is paced horribly, has boring ass characters. Not much difference.
Newsflash: it's not considered good storytelling when you shove 90% of the story into fucking audio logs. Of course people complained
Imagine a drinking game where you take a shot every time Code Talker says “vocal chord parasite”. You’d be dead after the 2nd or 3rd tape conversation 😂
A bit like “nano machines” in MGS4 🙄
@@CursedWheelieBin Haha so true. Alcohol poisoning within minutes in either case.
or when he says "copulate"
Love how Ocelot and Kaz are completely confused as to why the kids would want to leave mother base, and then after that conversation, they immediately start bickering over who's going to get the privilege of interrogating the kids.
4:18:00
I literally go to school listening to these. My friends are like what’re you listening to?
Me: “It’s complicated...”
I'm doing the same thing at work.
It's not complicated
Solid Steak61
😂
You're listening to the most epic form of storytelling
this should be done for all of the codecs in the MGS games, which i think your content library series is doing right now
My favorite tape is the one going over old mother bases destruction, it’s a mix of forceful and painful
Thank you, please do this for all other games' cassette tapes/codec conversations! This is what makes mgs so great!
That first Paz tape... holy hell. All 3 of them on stage... Kaz deciding for her... First time performing... You can read so deep into that tape alone. It makes me want to go back and analyze all of them.
It's incredible how well this helps to sleep
I listen to this once to bed... It felt like 9 years with all that information.
"This AI Pod is just one Big Shell" Dr.Strangelove
BIG SHELL? GOD DAMN IT KOJIMA
Talking about family bs lmao, fuck huey tho
Listening to this with the MGS3 Codes+food ones is perfect for sleeping
Venom spoke more here than the game
Finally someone with common sense that record this NOT in the acc.
The emotional whiplash I got from listening to Paz's Diary to The Hamburgers of Kazuhira Miller is real.
Thanks for the absence of background noise 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
*Weather will clear shortly*
Take a shot every time "vocal cord parasite" is said
So you would be dead by now if you took a shot every time 'nanomachines' was said in mgs4..
I dunno if someone dies of shots but still..
Paz's diary "Peace Day never came" hurts my heart.
I have to say Peace Walker and TPP teaches history nicer than school, no joke.
My channel tries to teach everything through videogames. Take a look. 🤩🤩🤩
pretty much all the mg games do. I still remember that April 30th is the day George Washington took office in Federal Hall.
Meat, Grain, and Vegetable. Nature's bounties in it's finest form.
OH god... I fell asleep woke up, and Kaz is still talking shit.
Clean recording, excellent!
this audio book would make a great game
i have a question about code talker at 4:04:15, that weird noise that code talker emitted sounded he was transforming into something before he was stopped by skull face, could someone give some background on what that ability was
God, I love the rasp in his voice.
25:04 the voice actors for Miller and Ocelot have always been so amazing
That's some dedication. Great job George.
All we need to make this work is Yoji Shinkawa illustrations and we're in business1
Gooood. Now I can listen to some of the tapes without the sound of my PS4 sounding like a vacuum cleaner.

You used me... FOR HAMBURGER DEVELOPMENT
Why do i get the feeling that a very subdued and faint acoustic version of the Old Snake theme from MGS4 would play well during the "AI Pod's Final Recording"?
This would have been so much better as 6 hours of cutscenes.
2 days, it took me two days but I did it!
I fucking love ocelots va
The entire tape book
Does anyone else feel calm listening to these tapes? The tapes serve as a great distraction for me.
04:54:44 this is the true feeling deep inside the bottom of Venom Snake's heart
i like how occelot avoided the subject of ishmael
wow . i didn't know they were 6h of them . i normally just play the as doing missions . i never realized that .

I use this to fall asleep to 😅
I got banana camo and monkey mask on metal gear solid 3 subsistence and i equip it any time to get everything delicious.
I'm pretty sure these 6 hours of Tapes were actually supposed to be 6 hours of Cutscenes.
It's a lot, but not as much as MGS4.
Thanks so much for this!
You liget gave me the idea and determanation to get a job and fix my ps3 just to go on a search to buy the legacy collection and replay my copys of mgsv ground zeros and phantom pain
My to go video to fall asleep.
Eli has a pretty good point when he says that Snake will be robbing the kids of their freedom if he goes after the ones who escaped from Mother Base
Huey being the single most evil and fucked up character in the entire series is just **chef's kiss**
I hope all the people who complained that metal gear solid 4 had a lot of very long cutscenes are enjoying this shit now.
They always wanted a problem till there was never a problem at all
