I actually met david hayter at a con a couple months back. He was super nice to me. I sadly only had enough money for a video with him (which is on my channel) but after we filmed it I brought out my game (metal gear solid legacy collection) and starting talking about how much i loved the first game so far (i just started playing it) he looks at me and asks "you want me to sign it?" I said "yeah but I don't have enough" so he took the game from me pulled out a sharpie and said "yeah well im gonna sign it anyways because i'm cool". After that i saw the line behind me was starting to fill up so I decided to leave i said goodbye and told him i would see him again at his Q and A later he then grabbed my shoulder and said "alright just remember: you're pretty good". I have so much appreciation for him. Edit: For the last 2 years this comment has just fermented. It has not only brought an absurd amount of views to the video with David in question (which for some reason will never beat that stupid idubbbz meme i made in two seconds like 3 years ago) but it has bombarded my notifications with replies either being 1. He sounds so cool 2. This feels like a fake story you would read on reddit Or 3. hE cHaRgEd YoU?! Like the first two I don’t really mind because truth be told it does kinda sound like a garbage “and then everybody clapped” kind of story, probably a result of how much I look up to him and how starstruck I was (even though I tried not to be) but the whole thing of people calling him a loser because he charged me is absurd because 1. Conventions REQUIRE that you charge, it’s how they make money. 2. Its also how the celebrities in question make money. Like from what I remember David lives somewhere in Canada and the convention was in Dallas. What sense would it make to fly all the way down there to not make any money? And 3. Even then he didn’t seem to care too much about the money anyways because he signed my game for free. Anyways David is a decent guy and was really happy I could share this experience with you guys (and on a couple of other metal gear videos because it was just the coolest thing to me at the time) have a good one.
I’ve always understood most game franchise lores but metal gear timeline has always been so confusing and over the place that I just gave up and just appreciated the games for the amazing action
Just trying to follow what Ocelot was doing through the series makes my head hurt. He was triple of quadruple agent the whole time? The guy seems to be allied with everyone at some point of the story.
Don’t bother. I fully understand the plot but it took me 6 months of reading all MGS content online. I’ve Also played all the games There’s numerous retcons because Kojima admitted he didn’t even plan to keep going after MGS2
I appreciate your sentiments, but personally, I've always loved the arcane nature of the plot. It all works (although some of it does require retcons) and for me at least, it really makes you think. Probably says a lot about me when I say 4 is my favorite in the series.
If it's any consolation, some people don't also get everything even after playing the games. Your best bet is to Google the full timeline and then have another tab open for the Metal Gear wiki (gotta look up all the terms!)
Yet it predicted internet/information censorship, Private Military Companies conducted conflicts for profit, and a bunch of other underlying themes like genetic engineering and advanced technology.
If Ocelot isn't pretending the whole time, there is another reason as to why the arm of liquid could take over his personality from time to time. Ocelot's dad, The Sorrow, was a strong medium who could talk to the dead and stuff. His abilities were not bought, he was born with them and could have passed them on to Ocelot when he was born and thus making him weak to a spirit of a dead man who's arm is attached to you.
What hurts me the most is venom snake is his best and most loyal soldier. Big boss kept blaming zero and those cloning project. But he himself agreed when zero and ocelot decided to changed ahab into venom snake, just because to save his own skin. Hes willing to agree on something that he hated so much to a point he broke his ties with zero. After all that trouble zero went through to save his old friend, big boss just ended up killing him😂
I love David, he truly shows his appreciation for Solid and when actors do that is simply awsome! He has lended his voice to so many channels over the years, interacted with so many people, its just amazing, i totaly simp for both Davids. You can probably guess my middle name haha
I always felt bad for venom snake who was just being used as a pawn and a double for Big Boss who couldn't just face his enemies himself. I know that he had a greater purpose but he really played with the medic so bad.
Hey at least Venom was proud when he learned who he really was and happy to share the title of big boss. At least until hes about to die to solid i mean
You can see the hesitation of the "Snake" and cracking patience of the Ocelot in the first hours of V.. and only after some list of achievements and completed missions the medic becomes Venom Snake.. and.. well.. looks like he liked that in the end
Having run a DnD campaign with this many plottwists, I have to think that kojima just wrote this as he went. There's no way anyone could have planned this lmao
I always find it amusing that people didn't realize that Venom Snake wasn't the real Big Boss from the very beginning. I mean, Kojima never even tried to hide it. Keifer voicing, both, Ishmael AND Ahab. Quiet radioing in that "the patient in the next bed saw my face" before she tries to kill Venom. To top it all off, Ishmael flat out says "You're talking to yourself" when Venom asks who he is.
@@derrickrose5933 Codenames were used to protect Big Boss and Venom while they recovered from the helicopter crash. Big Boss was called Ishmael and Venom was called Ahab.
Protagonist becomes the Antagonist but it turns out it's actually a clone of the protagonist becoming the antagonist just for it to be revealed he was actually the protagonist the whole time pretending to be an antagonist
yet it only talks about the most superficial events without touching the story's themes, character motivations, etc (I assume for brevity). For the real in-depth rabbit hole of hours-upon-hours analysis check out Futurasound Productions yt channel. It's kind of insane the amount of story that this 30+ years old series has to offer.
Another thing: Snake doesn't "get to live" he only finds out that he doesn't have to kill himself to keep the world safe from FoxDie, but it's still possibly killing him. He's told he "should" live, as in he should live as long as he can and not worry about when FoxDie will kill him as no one has a timeline for the virus.
@@TheRenegadeMage yeh foxdie became inert when the modified foxdie messed with it , its the clone lifespan thats killing him , being told he should live his life big boss ment enjoy the time you have left
Imagine convincing a secret group of private military members bent on twisting public opinion to rule the world though deliberate false information and brute force that you have been possessed by someone because you attached their arm to yours. Really think of that satisfaction. That has to be the world's best trolling effort in all of history.
By that stage, it was easier. Zero was suffering dementia, SigInt and Paramedic were dead, Eva had left and Ocelot was, well Ocelot. This left the AIs completely in charge. The AIs relied on logic and data to determine what was going on. They had no way of accounting for a scenario where Ocelot stopped being Ocelot, and Liquid was deemed dead. This gave Ocelot an identity that the Patriot AIs couldn't deal with. They can't track him because he's doesn't identify as Ocelot, not does he give tells that he's Ocelot anymore, so they can't even spy and see anyone identifying as such. Where a human could potentially see through it, a computer, sophisticated as it is, is still limited by what the programmers foresaw and thus could not. It was a genius plan. By MGS4, the AIs suspected something was up, as the deceased Liquid was accessing the broken GW system, which is why he needed Big Boss's (Actually Solidus') body, which he knew would happen as far back as MGS, which is why they wanted the body of Big Boss. So yeah, it was actually a stroke of genius, and incredibly likely to work.
@@ResidentWeevil82 if raiden simply let solidus finish his plan in the mgs 2,everything would be fine, and no gop with revengenance happening, since we know that after the fall of sop the world is a military-cyberpunk dystopia! George Sears, dead, and forgotten, because of patriots memes!
The AIs are actually quite limited They're not all knowing, they simply take data in and process it to understand which step works This is why PMC and "safer" battlefields of MGS4 are even a thing Also, remember that The Sorrow was already a thing in MGS3 So was Psycho mantis in MGSV Clearly the world of MGSV is not like ours and has more fantastical elements to it In this context, something like a dead man taking over through someone's arm sounds more plausible
@@agentorange9867 Dystopia, ehh, not really, it's just our current world with more funky cybernetic stuff. The codecs state that in the MGR universe civilians are still civilians, government cops are still normal cops, only hired securities are cyborgs. If you're the average American Joe you would likely see some people having cybernetics as prosthetics for lost body parts, and according to the MGR codec, those medical prosthetics function identically to human's body parts, nothing fancy as lifting a Metal Gear unlike their military counterpart. Issues like third world countries exploitation, the dehumanization of soldiers exist in our world, so it's not too different from the MGR world. Solid Snake has finally succeeded in "letting the world be", break the world free from a singular ideology ruling everything, giving people freedom to believe in what they want yet still respect other.
23:35 Damn, Solid Snake destroyed my beloved Diamond Dogs and kill all fultoned comrades. All my work blown away. Wait, when I play Metal Gear 1 I kill myself and all of my man... Damn... Kojima... That is real Phantom Pain.
I'm swearing off comment sections from now on. That didn't click in my head until I saw your comment and rewatched. And I JUST reached the end of mgs5 again... broke my heart
There's also a chance where every original DD soldier died or retired before the Outer Heaven incident. Ship of Theseus and all that. I thought about that too (just finished replaying MGSV last week). Hopefully that is the case.
Welcome to the party. We have more Snakes than you imagined. Naked Snake, Venom Snake, Solid Snake, Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake. And guess what. One of these Snakes is YOU.
Yes and no. At the start it was a blank slate, so it was quite easy for Kojima to develop it further. He is always compromising on his big visions as well, so he likely has more that he wished to do than the budget allowed, supposedly his dream for the first game itself was something far beyond the capabilities of the hardware, something even bigger than MGSV. That means he knew more or less what he wanted to write and he had time to do refine it. The issue is that once he started filling all the timeline, he had to keep in mind previous decisions he might not remember or even made counciously. And as he wrote more, the less leeway he had with the characters shown previously. If anything, that is why there are so many characters and they are all confusing, he had to repurpose characters and introduce new ones without overshadowing the previous ones nor being forgetable themselves.
There's plenty of ways to retroactively include past plots into future ones. Like I bet until the concept of MGS3 started being developed, Big Boss was probably named that simply because he was the final boss of Metal Gear. There was no Venom Snake when MG1 was released. That conveniently allowed for a backstory on how he got that name to be created in MGS3, and for Venom Snake to later be slotted into that role in the first game.
I agree. Is there a man out there classier than David Hayter? I think not. But Yuri Lowenthal may come close. He also showed up on a random youtuber's video, cameoing and recommending that person's channel. You know how they say "never meet your heroes"? Well, I think there's always a few exceptions to pretty much any rule, and those are 2 amazingly astounding examples. Thank God for the Metal Gear Series. It's so insane, but it's amazing and like David Hayter said here, it's also a series that's near and dear to my heart. I wouldn't want to live in a world without MGS, or without Solid Snake, or without David Hayter.
the reality is Kojima has always had a boner for hollywood, as seen by the fact he's tried to replace hayter with a hollywood actor prior to mgsv (he wanted kurt russel in mgs3) so he got kiefer, finally
My first MGS was msg4 and It instantly became my favorite game but I understood nothing about the story. Then msg5 came out years later and I still understood nothing so this video helped a lot. I finally understand everything about story and I’ve got to say that it’s a roller coaster. A good one though. 10/10 franchise
Same here too. Been playing this franchise since day one release on PS1. Absolutely love it and know the whole story like the back of my hand ✋. Wait... what's that???
i feel like the clunky gameplay of the earlier titles is part of the fun though. mgs1/twin snakes especially. never gonna happen anyway since konami just makes metal gear pachinko machines for japanese gambling dens and nothing else.
Well there was a project that was working on remaking the original 2 Metal Gear games that would see the stories altered to fit the revised timeline but it got shutdown
I just replayed the old games, and honestly, I'd hate if they had new gameplay in them. It'd make the games feel like mgs4, and honestly that was the game that played like an action game more than a stealth game. The old controls always made me feel like I had to carefully plan every step as I move.
Yeah you play as the Medic from Ground Zeros. He underwent intensive psychological manipulation making him think he was Big Boss as well as plastic surgery to make him look like him. The guy in the hospital bed next to him with his face all bandaged up is the real Big Boss
@@Mojo1356once you played the game how can you continue to be mad? You’re not OG Big Boss nor Solid. You’re venom snake, a medic that was on the same helicopter that exploded during Ground Zeros. Of course he’d have a different voice actor. He was an entirely different person.
@@Woyaboy explain the Japanese version that didn’t change voice actors then. Face it. Kojima replaced Hayner solely because he wanted a Hollywood actor. Your point is completely moot.
@Mojo1356 The hell it is. And FYI, Kojima has been looking to replace Hayter as Snake since MGS3. Personally, Hayter should have stayed Solid Snake and not Naked Snake. Naked Snake should have been voiced by another voice actor.
After all this, Raiden got the spotlight back again in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is quite unique of it being the AFTERMATH to Guns of the Patriots. The game even hints off the various things OF MGS from what Raiden can remember as Easter Eggs and Secrets.
Metal Gear is such a cool univers. I hope that, in the future it gets the love it deserves. I'd pay alot of money for a whole saga of remastered Metal Gear games.
In one perspective, Big Boss is the protagonist and Solid is a pawn being used in the same way Big Boss was. In another, Big Boss is a warmonger and Solid is the ultimate hero. It depends on what angle you're looking at it from.
I certainly relate more to the story of Big Boss, his motivations feel much more human, and much less idealistic than what MGS1 and MGS2 preach, I've yet to tie up the story in game though cause my PC still isn't good enough to emulate MGS4 lmao. But MGS3-MGSV Phantom pain tell a VERY satisfying story. Metal gear Rising had an amazing story too, sad we will never get a sequel now cause Konami sucks nuts.
Metal Gear Solid 3 was one of the most beautiful and complete games I've ever played in my life. Sad that at 14, most games I would then play after would only be a step down lol

The friendship between otacon and snake and even how it was foreshadowed by their "parents" was something I loved. Up until meeting otacon, I felt snake was cold and detached as expected from being an instrument of war. Otacon was the humanizing element for him. And otacon got the resilience he needed from snake. Watching them work together through the series was something I truly admired and looked forward to. I wish we could see more of their work as Philanthropy.
Despite the fact that Peace walker introduces Huey and BB as stand ins for Snake and Otacon, i choose to believe this is a gene vs meme type situation and that Strangelove and Boss are also parents to them, memetically. Strangelove's final wish was for Hal to inherit Boss' will, after all, the will described as "let the world be", and thats the motto of Philanthropy. Snake and Otacon, despite never meeting either Strangelove or Boss, realized their memes, rising above their own cursed genes. Its so stupid and poetic and I want to inject it into my veins
Blown away at the effort put into this lengthen story on the entire MGS timeline. Massive thank you to David for offering his talents. @@P.V.3606 nanomachines are gone after MGS4, right? The PMCs and all that? If MGR was canon, it would mean the MGS4's ending was worthless, and everything went back the way it was, like if snake never existed. @@ShoryYTP I agree and disagree. Although it is likely going to be forever considered a spin-off, MGS4's ending wasn't a waste. The prime minister even acknowledged "...how far we've come in 4 short years." Although yes, the nanomachines plot point is 100% confusing, I'm still on the fence. It's either a true spin-off, or I could imagine in the future they pull a Portable Ops and say "It's only semi-canon" or "Only a few aspects from the game are truly canon." But I do agree, I'm upset that Raiden's ending was essentially discarded.
ShorY (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ I think the PMCs were sort of solved during MGR. When Sundowner said “Africa’s getting just a bit too peaceful” it means that he wanted to make it dangerous as to get jobs from African warlords and such.
@blu bois I'll agree with you on the idea, because it's really cool to see a "different" snake, but it falls apart a little bit when the real Big Boss is also voiced by Sutherland
Kojima didn’t budge on the Hayter voice thing after announcing Sutherland. We all fell for his trap. He played us, like a fiddle. Knowing that the snake Sutherland would voice, wasn’t Big Boss at all... brilliant. Kojima is Ocelot
Kojima was a writer on Portable Ops. It is key to Big Boss who recruits his first soldier Johnny who sacrifices himself at the end. He also teams up with Roy Campbell and Null A.K.A. Frank Jaeger/Gray Fox and brings him back to America. Elisa literally tells Snake about one son bringing the world to ruin while one will try to save it. Ocelot kills the director of the C.I.A. Yeah it has Zero, Sigint, Para-Medic, Ocelot, Gene etc. playable but the story is cannon.

@@Lukeff7 Zero and Sigint had the idea of having Proxy A.I's control the Patriots in Zero's stead to basically rule over humanity based on the "The Boss' Will" which was essentially the unification of all the countries in the world. Zero and Big Boss's interpretation of her will were both wrong as Big Boss believed that her will meant that there were no borders and therefore no loyalty to any state or country but a soldier's paradise where they couldn't be manipulated by their governments like he and The Boss were (which is what Outer Heaven was created for). Zero's interpretation of her will was total unification of all countries and governments, a one ruler of sorts. With the A.I's, AL, TR, TJ, and GW, the SOP system (Sons of the Patriots) was created and operated by the Patriots which by the 2000's were completely under the control of the proxies which were as well overseen by one main A.I, JD. The SOP system basically allowed soldiers to monitor and enhance their combat ability in battle based on their nanomachines. The best example of this was Meryl's fireteam in MGS4 where we see they are very coordinated with one another and fluid in their actions except for Johnny who wasn't connected to their system because he didn't have nanomachines at all hence him coming off as a "clumsy" 10 year vet throughout the game. The SOP system basically controlled everybody under a single will or single "unification" giving fruition to Zero's interpretation of the Boss' Will. This turned bad however when the A.I's completely rid themselves of their peaceful programming of the Boss' Will and instead decided to inflict even more conflict into the world. I believe to stop this, Naomi and Sunny created a worm called FOXALIVE which they used to destroy the proxies and therefore the Patriots at the end of MGS4. This was both a good thing and a bad thing as PMC's (Private Military Companies) no longer adhered to a single will but at the same time the SOP system played a MAJOR role in soldiers lives which is why after it was destroyed, many soldiers suffered from withdrawals. Side note: The Boss' Will was to leave the world as it is and to believe only in one's own goals. Zero wanted to enforce loyalty with the SOP system which was a false "unity", something the Boss did not envision originally in her Will hence his interpretation being wrong. Hopefully your headache isn't as severe as mine typing this but I tried to make it as simple as I could haha

@@roybenari Wikipedia article snippets: Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is an American media franchise created by Scott Cawthon. The first game of the same name was released on August 8, 2014 and has since gained worldwide popularity. The main series consists of nine survival horror video games taking place in locations connected to a fictional family pizza restaurant franchise named "Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza", after its mascot, the animatronic bear Freddy Fazbear. In most games, the player assumes the role of a night-time employee, who must utilize tools such as security cameras, lights, doors, and vents to defend themselves against hostile animatronic characters that inhabit the locations. The series' lore is gradually revealed through voice recordings, minigames, and easter eggs featured throughout the games. The franchise also includes spin-off games and other media, such as a novel trilogy and an anthology series, comprising an all-encompassing fictional universe. The franchise maintains an active fanbase, known for its production of fan art and fangames, and merchandise for the games is available internationally The idea for Five Nights at Freddy's stemmed from negative reaction to Scott Cawthon's previous game, the family-friendly Chipper & Sons Lumber Co. Players said that the main character (a young beaver) looked like "a scary animatronic animal", and reviewer Jim Sterling called the game "unintentionally terrifying".[1][2] Initially discouraged by the criticism, Cawthon (who had previously primarily developed Christian-oriented games) eventually used the feedback to make something intentionally scarier.[1] Five Nights at Freddy's was released via Desura on August 8, 2014. On August 20, after it was approved by the service's crowdsourcing platform Greenlight, Five Nights at Freddy's was also released on Steam.[3] When the game was picked up by well-known RUclipsrs it became an internet sensation.[4]: 82 The sequels were released on November 10, 2014, March 2, 2015, July 23, 2015, October 7, 2016, December 4, 2017, June 27, 2018, May 28, 2019, November 25, 2019, and December 16, 2021, respectively. A spin-off from the series, FNaF World, was announced in a Steam post by Cawthon in September 2015,[5] and was released in January 2016. Cawthon releases teasers for his games on his website,[6][7] and trailers on his RUclips channel. He used Clickteam Fusion 2.5 to create the Five Nights at Freddy's games and Autodesk 3ds Max to model and render the games' 3D graphics.[8] To enhance Sister Location, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, Ultimate Custom Night, Help Wanted, and Special Delivery, Cawthon used professional voice actors and original soundtracks.[9] In May 2016, he announced that all titles would be remade by third-party companies for release on consoles.[10] Cawthon posted on his website in 2015 that he planned to publish his first novel (The Silver Eyes) in the near future, with its stories separate from that of the games.[11] Cawthon also announced that it would be co-written by author Kira Breed-Wrisley. On June 20, 2016, Scholastic announced that it would collaborate with Cawthon on a multi-book deal.[12] The Silver Eyes was released on December 17, 2015 on Amazon Kindle,[13] and the paperback version was published on September 27, 2016, slightly earlier than its originally planned October publication date.[14] A second novel, The Twisted Ones, was published on June 27, 2017,[15] followed by The Fourth Closet on June 26, 2018.[16]

It has not only brought an absurd amount of views to the video with David in question (which for some reason will never beat that stupid idubbbz meme i made in two seconds like 3 years ago) but it has bombarded my notifications with replies either being
1. He sounds so cool
2. This feels like a fake story you would read on reddit
Or
3. hE cHaRgEd YoU?!
Like the first two I don’t really mind because truth be told it does kinda sound like a garbage “and then everybody clapped” kind of story, probably a result of how much I look up to him and how starstruck I was (even though I tried not to be) but the whole thing of people calling him a loser because he charged me is absurd because
1. Conventions REQUIRE that you charge, it’s how they make money.
2. Its also how the celebrities in question make money. Like from what I remember David lives somewhere in Canada and the convention was in Dallas. What sense would it make to fly all the way down there to not make any money?
And
3. Even then he didn’t seem to care too much about the money anyways because he signed my game for free.
Anyways David is a decent guy and was really happy I could share this experience with you guys (and on a couple of other metal gear videos because it was just the coolest thing to me at the time) have a good one.

InB4 it turns out this IS the real history and we were all lied to by The Patriots AI...
It may not be real history but its real art.

@@mitochondria6247 if you put it like that you can't hurt them anymore
I swear writing a story where the events almost never take place chronologically must be so difficult to make any sort of sense at all.
If anything, that is why there are so many characters and they are all confusing, he had to repurpose characters and introduce new ones without overshadowing the previous ones nor being forgetable themselves.
that's why nanomachines are a thing... the real jolly of Metal Gear storytelling.

The friendship between otacon and snake and even how it was foreshadowed by their "parents" was something I loved.

I have to say that over the years Metal Gear Solid is the best game series I'd ever seen Lore wise and game wise.
David hayter is so cool for doing this

noticed hayder has been on a lot of online shows recently. Most notebly did you know gaming where he narrates the videos about metal gear. And here he still nails the role. Last time he voiced snake in a video game was in smash ultimate in 2018 which is damn 4 years.
Hearing David Hayter as Snake is always a damn treat. That's awesome you got him in on this video man! Great video as well but Snake puts it over the top easily!
0:23 "Spans almost a full century..."
It DOES span a full century I'm pretty sure. The Philosophers is in 1918 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengence (last game in the timeline which came out in 2013) takes place in 2018
Metal Gear Saga: 1918-2018
MGR is not canon, so no. Almost a century still
@@ShoryYTP Slow it down there buckaroo, they said the same thing about Portable Ops. And only like 5% of that *isn't* canon. And if you ask me it fits perfectly in the timeline, makes perfect sense, and has no reason minus the whole Kojima thing not to be.
@@P.V.3606 nanomachines are gone after MGS4, right? The PMCs and all that? If MGR was canon, it would mean the MGS4's ending was worthless, and everything went back the way it was, like if snake never existed. I personally don't like that, and consider MGR as a spin-off based in an alternate universe
ShorY (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ
I think the PMCs were sort of solved during MGR. When Sundowner said “Africa’s getting just a bit too peaceful” it means that he wanted to make it dangerous as to get jobs from African warlords and such.
We couldn’t get Code Name “One-Eyed Snake” one freaking time?
And that person wears a purple helmet?
🤣
Lmao code name snake eye
Maybe if konami didn’t fire kojima maybe the metal gear solid franchise still going and new snake maybe?
How has that joke never been made about Big Boss? He's a one eyed snake!
Ocelot: *attaches liquid’s arm*
Also ocelot: aight, time to do a little trolling
David Hayter did this? They lost the bajesus out of me after letting him go. Well done, and long live the king, baby.
They never let him go.
He has voiced Solid Snake in every game he has ever appeared in.
@blu bois I'll agree with you on the idea, because it's really cool to see a "different" snake, but it falls apart a little bit when the real Big Boss is also voiced by Sutherland
@blu bois They probably did something to his vocal cords during the coma, not a very realistic theory but c'mon they had nine years.
Kojima didn’t budge on the Hayter voice thing after announcing Sutherland. We all fell for his trap. He played us, like a fiddle. Knowing that the snake Sutherland would voice, wasn’t Big Boss at all... brilliant. Kojima is Ocelot
@blu bois He does have the same voice as big boss, Ground Zeroes is also voiced by Kiefer Sutherland
Yes^^^^
Portable Ops was oddly my first metal gear game. You opened up the gates of nostalgia my friend
Dear Mr. Leaderboard
I wanna thank U so much for taking the time to explain the whole series in detail. I must have played and beaten games 1-4 7 times and I could never fully understand the whole story until now. Because of U I was able to fully understand in mere minutes what I couldn't in hours of gameplay. Thanks to U I now have a much better concept and grasp if the MGS stories. The thank U and herl up the good work.
Thank you so much for explaining the history. I've been a huge fan ever since MGS1 on PS1. I will forever cherish this video.
The timeline of the MGS series is always the one thing I hope people will ask me about. This vid did clear a few things up still though. Didn’t realise how much I missed David’s voice too.

Especially since these days they're barely playable. Story could be improved significantly too.
30:05 ocelot actually used psychotherapy in order to become more like liquid, it's not just the arm. Ocelot has used psychotherapy before like in MGSV to make himself fully believe that venom snake was big boss for a set time.

Great job. The only misstep (in my opinion) is the lack of explaining what GW and JD are. Once you get to that point in the MGS4 section, you kinda don’t know why it’s important they are being destroyed.
Jason Pina can you explain here?
Wow dude. Great work here. I'm gonna have to watch that again to take it all in. MGS has to be one of the best story lines of all time.

Wasnt the corpse of big boss actually solidus's body since he was a perfect clone? I think ya may have failed to mention that lol but overall dope video love this series and helps bring back memories of beating all the games!
I thought it was a cloned dead body or something like that?

Five Nights at Freddy's (FNaF) is an American media franchise created by Scott Cawthon.
The franchise maintains an active fanbase, known for its production of fan art and fangames, and merchandise for the games is available internationally
The idea for Five Nights at Freddy's stemmed from negative reaction to Scott Cawthon's previous game, the family-friendly Chipper & Sons Lumber Co. Players said that the main character (a young beaver) looked like "a scary animatronic animal", and reviewer Jim Sterling called the game "unintentionally terrifying".[1][2] Initially discouraged by the criticism, Cawthon (who had previously primarily developed Christian-oriented games) eventually used the feedback to make something intentionally scarier.[1]
Five Nights at Freddy's was released via Desura on August 8, 2014. On August 20, after it was approved by the service's crowdsourcing platform Greenlight, Five Nights at Freddy's was also released on Steam.[3] When the game was picked up by well-known RUclipsrs it became an internet sensation.[4]: 82
The sequels were released on November 10, 2014, March 2, 2015, July 23, 2015, October 7, 2016, December 4, 2017, June 27, 2018, May 28, 2019, November 25, 2019, and December 16, 2021, respectively. A spin-off from the series, FNaF World, was announced in a Steam post by Cawthon in September 2015,[5] and was released in January 2016. Cawthon releases teasers for his games on his website,[6][7] and trailers on his RUclips channel.
He used Clickteam Fusion 2.5 to create the Five Nights at Freddy's games and Autodesk 3ds Max to model and render the games' 3D graphics.[8] To enhance Sister Location, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, Ultimate Custom Night, Help Wanted, and Special Delivery, Cawthon used professional voice actors and original soundtracks.[9] In May 2016, he announced that all titles would be remade by third-party companies for release on consoles.[10]
Cawthon posted on his website in 2015 that he planned to publish his first novel (The Silver Eyes) in the near future, with its stories separate from that of the games.[11] Cawthon also announced that it would be co-written by author Kira Breed-Wrisley.
@@roybenari it's infamous for how the story is almost always remade and changed and never seems to end despite having the "final entry" multiple times.

I feel like Portable Ops is pretty necessary regardless if Hideo didn't write it. It fills a gap, answers questions, and reasonably falls in line with everything else. You go right into Peace Walker knowing what has happened in Portable Ops pretty smoothly. The jump between MG3 and Peace Walker leaves a lot out, otherwise, that Portable Ops answers.
