How small? You need a light in front of you. Something to light your face. That is a must. If you want color behind you, get 1 small RGB light and put it directly behind you pointing at the wall. It will need to go on a stand. I show an example of this set up a little later in the video.
@@DeeNimmin Thank you so much, I never thought one of big channel on RUclips read and reply my message..right now my lighting is only my lighting desk..
Thank you for this amazing video. I’m going to use this for my home setup while using my webcam. Just a quick question…Can I use the light stand you recommend for all 3 devices? Will it fit all 3?
The stands are lightweight, I wouldn’t suggest putting too much on them. It would also require you to perfectly balance everything. I recommend a stand for each light. - Dee
Nice video esp. as you are proposing practical budget options. One suggestion though: it's hard to read the light diagram and positions, a better way would be to flip north and south sides to match with your video explanation.
Appreciate the feedback, thank you. I'll flip that around next time I do a lighting video. After publishing the video I also thought that I should have added a camera to the image.
You can buy the light as a package that comes with 2 different types of diffusers. At the time of making this video, I did not have it. I do now. This is a good light if you are traveling, don't have much space, or are on a budget. If you can get a larger light with diffusion, the light will be softer. The larger the light, the softer it will be.
You smart!! I also want to do like that because my room is not good so streaming in dark is good!! without any clothes!!! Without any clothes? I mean black or dark colours's clothes
Yes. Batteries are separate for the Falcon Eyes and F7. The RGB have them built in. The Falcon Eyes comes with a cable to plug it in and the RBG have small cables for charging that double as a power source. I need to check to see if the F7 has cables in the case somewhere. Send me a message on Twitter or in the CB group if you need more detail, I can get battery model numbers for you.
If you set it up right. The thing to be aware of with room overhead lights, is that they are not the most flattering on your face and can create shadow. If you find the right amount of light with a key light, like this Falcon Eyes or one of their larger ones, it will remove those shadows and light your face correctly. In hindsight, I should have added that option to this video.
What camera and lens are you using for this video? I’m struggling a bit with lighting and I feel like some of it has to do with my tech as well and just not knowing how to use it like white balance, color grading etc
This was shot with a Sony ZV1. It’s a great little camera and does a decent job in lower light. Don’t worry about color grading just yet, focus on learning about camera basics and simple lighting. One step at a time. One good soft light source is enough to light you up and allow the camera to run on auto if you need it to. - Dee
GoPros generally need a lot of light to look good. I don’t have any of the newer ones so I don’t know what controls you get. Are you able to change the ISO and shutter speed of it? I would start there if so. Lower the ISO down to 400 and start adjusting from there. You need to take it off auto. All that said, it still might not perform well in low light.
Dee Nimmin thank you very much. Yes I put iso 400 and shutter speed the double but doesn’t look good and sharp as your video. Ill keep trying I use neweer lights (usb) and leds on the floor for ambient
Dan DeLunar Are you on Twitter? Tweet me or DM me a link to a video with the lighting set up if you have anything online. Make a note and let me know it’s you from the StreamYard channel.
Do you use manual focus and if so, how do you do it with no help from a person behind the camera. Reason I ask is because I can't control the white balance in auto mode buy can in manual
I use auto-focus and set it to focus on my face. Most cameras will have options for auto focus, experiment until you find the one that works best for you. For mine, the "spot focus" is my head and it will fairly quickly focus on my hand if I bring it close to the lens to show something. - Dee

Dee Nimmin no I don’t. I’ll have to get that. Do I just connect it to my laptop or do I need to download a software so it won’t turn off after a few seconds?
It’s really hard to believe that the $69 key light of that size could be achieve the results shown in the video. It seriously does not look any different than of a $400 Aperture key light and soft box set up. Did you post edit the key light look at all?
4:47 for lols. Hey Dee, how about making a separate video on your personal RUclips channel using only one light and multiple 'white' blankets in the background at different angles to have your one and only light bounce back as background light. (you know what I mean)
Thanks for the suggestion. I am still stuck in another country and won’t have access to extra sheets or ways to hang them for a while. Maybe that’s something I can look into down the road.
@@DeeNimmin Not gonna lie, it does suck that you are still there in Mexico. (I'm from San Diego) And it does make me sometimes sad to hear Nick and company (yours and his followers) mention you not being there and missing your presence and what you bring to the live videos Nick does. Stay safe Dee.
Do you have a video for lighting on a desk? I video my desk as I paint… the desk is white. I have so many lights and I’ve tried so many things. Seems it’s either too dark or too bright. Even my photos are this way. I’d like things to look brighter without the white background being so bright you can’t see it or the black rock I’m painting looking gray or washed out. I’m trying to learn. Nick sent me here and I have the falconeyes in my basket but I figured I’d check first. This will be the 8th light I’ve tried. I’m using my iPhone to video. It’s just all I have.
Hey! Can you tell us which falconeyes you use and if you have any diffusion that you are using? I took a look at one of your videos and the light is pretty harsh. Also, the problem with using iPhones is that they will try to auto-adjust the brightness of the stream. You may want to download an app that will let you control that manually or switch to a DSLR! - Katie 🦆
@@StreamYard I don’t have one… It was in my basket but between the time of that comment and now I did order. I used the link in your video. When I’m using my phone to video I do lock the brightness but sometimes I lock it when I know it’s not optimal. If I click on white it goes dark and when I click on the rock it goes crazy white. I try to use the slider but it doesn’t adjust to a gorgeous clear view like I see. I feel like my art is fine but my channel growth is so slow. Im working on lighting and the music. I’ve invested for the new year. I love doing this so much but I really need it to love me back in order for me to continue. When I get the light in I will report back here. I really appreciate the time…. Really I do. Most never answer a thing and I personally believe kindness matters. Thank you ♥️
Hey there! Thanks for that information...we really want this to work for you too! Your art is beautiful! Sometimes, channel growth is slow but it's all about being consistent...but we want to help so it looks good too. So in your case, it's a bit difficult considering that the table is white and the rock you're painting is black. What we would suggest is that you that you set up the lights, lock the exposure on the rock, and then adjust the brightness of the lights to try to bring down the exposure of the white table top! Diffusing the light (softening the light) will also help!I would suggest coming to our live chat at streamyard.com/contact and ask for Christian - Katie 🦆
Open the window and use the sun, it's free. Use a white sheet to hang in front of the window if you don't have a white curtain to soften the light. Anything large and white can be used to bounce the light around. You don't have to spend money to make your set look great, you only need to learn how light works and how to manually set up your camera. White sheets, white poster board, and white walls will all reflect light. Get creative with it.

I'm excited Dee to unveil new kitchen theme tomorrow, took Nicks advice went to home depot, blue accent lights on the red walls!
@@heavymetalchef5132 YES! Send me some inspiration photos like we talked about on FB. I'm going to help you get your graphics together.
How about just the falcon eyes and the room lights on the ceiling?
If you set it up right. The thing to be aware of with room overhead lights, is that they are not the most flattering on your face and can create shadow.
If you find the right amount of light with a key light, like this Falcon Eyes or one of their larger ones, it will remove those shadows and light your face correctly.
In hindsight, I should have added that option to this video.
@@DeeNimmin Thank you for your response. I tend to use overhead ceiling lights for my videos.
Thanks
Welcome!
Im in a tiny area how do you get or where do u put the light behind you to separate your self from the background
How tiny? How many feet (or meters) do you have behind you and the wall?
Yes, sir!!! Can you come and relight my studio? I’m only about 2000 miles away.
Hey! I’ll be there by noon.
Dee Nimmin Right on! I’ll have tea waiting for ya!
- Dee
Does this work with the go pro 8? I’ve tried everything but it still looks bad :(
GoPros generally need a lot of light to look good.
Oh noooooo, the don't sell the Falcon Eyes anymore.....what now? Any suggestions please?
How do you screen sharing on Stream Yard?
Once you are inside the studio, at the bottom next to the camera and audio buttons, there is another to share your screen.
Is the Aputure MC RGB only for Apple users? I read there was an app and the app only works with Apple
It looks like there is an Android version of the app mentioned in their product description.

- Dee
@@StreamYard thanks
I use stream yard to live stream but my streams always look grainy or low quality especially on play back.
Is your set well lit? Low light can add grain. Also, make sure you’re internet UPLOAD speed is fast. I would aim for at least 4Mbps if possible.
I'm so sorry to hear your having difficulty with streaming quality! We would be happy to help you troubleshoot this! Please reach out to our support team at streamyard.com/contact we'd be happy to assist you 😀

Btw- please recommend steps on how to use DSLR for live streams. My Logitech is ok but not same clarity as my DSLR.
Do you have a power source for your DSLR? You’ll want to get w fake battery charger / cable for it if you don’t.
Dee Nimmin no I don’t. I’ll have to get that. Do I just connect it to my laptop or do I need to download a software so it won’t turn off after a few seconds?
Were you using a webcam? What camera did you use for this recording? #HRwithEM
what camera are you suing ?
using
What is the iso you set in your camera?
For this video I'm using the Sony ZV1 with the IOS set to either 800 or 1000. F1.8 and 1/100
@@DeeNimmin so full hd 60fps?
Thank you!!! Maybe someday 😛 I’m still trying to get more than 20 views per video 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but I will keep all this in mind when it’s time!!
Just keep going and keep learning along the way, you'll get there.
I’ve subscribed, liked, commented, and used your link to amazon. Thank you ♥️
@@StreamYard thank you so much ♥️♥️
There are four lights!
4 + the lamp. 👍🏻
Dee Nimmin Star Trek reference, pity there’s no gifs 😆
Blue Harvest Vintage Toys I totally missed the reference, I’m a Star Wars fan. 😎
Dee Nimmin check my channel out in that case 👍
*scratches eyes* Am I seeing this? Is that Nick?
Depends. Are you still scratching?
Dee Nimmin Was not actually expecting your reply, wow. Hello there
alright jokoy.
Uncle Jokoy. ;-)
Hey ur rich person u have ur separate room for live and money for light, but normal person how to try
@@DeeNimmin thanks a lot ✌🔥👌 sir G, and my next question is how best way to increase subscribers plzz 🙏
