Oh my God, I fucking love this song. I love this country so much. I want to thank all of the servicemen, first responders, teachers, nurses, doctors. And really anybody that gives their heart and soul to this country in whatever way they do it. Everybody needs to keep on keeping on.
I shed a tear or two every time I hear this song. My son is in the USAF and I am so proud of him and every other service man/woman…thank you for your service!
Lee Greenwood said that this is the first time he has been able to sing this song the way he wanted because there was someone carrying the melody. You do realize this is all a capella, right?
I'm a rocker but love a little bit of everything from 70's and early 80's pop, classic Motown, even a little bit of blue grass to classic country like this. Love Lee Greenwood, he has such soul and his songs have meaning.
Im proud to say every branch of the military has been represented in my family....dad (Army Air Corp, Normandy), cousins (Marines, Desert Storm), cousin (Navy), nephew (Army), youngest daughter (Air Force, Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Qatar), and oldest grandson (Air Force, currently serving). Im so proud to be an American...i love our flag and cry whenever i hear patriotic songs! Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song, and a special thanks to all those who have served or are currently serving and a special prayer to those who lost loved ones in order to keep our country free!
Guys, Home Free published a whole patriotic album last year, called Land of the Free....you guys would love it. I played it at July 4th pool party with the neighbors and now their Home Free fans too
I LOVE this song and Home Free added to it. I admit I cry every time I hear this and LOVE your reaction. I saw Lee Greenwood do this song in the 80's, loved it then, love it even more now, especially what this song means. I love Ms Wolfhunterz makeup and hair by the way and beautiful smiles on both of you.
Lee Greenwood sounds great for 75! This was during Covid so they couldn’t be all together. Loved this. So nice of the Singing Sergeants to join in this endeavor. Everyone sounded great. I especially loved Adam’s beatboxing. He even did a jet sound at the very end. Great reaction. If you love knights in a castle you might want to listen to Home Free singing Brother. It’s fairly new and it’s about warriors singing about brotherhood. The boys do it in costume and it’s hilarious and there is a knight involved. 😍😀
The way to know if someone genuinely (Americans at least) love this is that they are singing along, knowing the words and smiling. This version gets everyone to smile somehow. And with all the players involved, remotely during Covid... acapella. Thank you everyone, but especially thank you Home Free & Lee Greenwood. Great reaction guys.
I want a castle too!!! Lmao😂😂😂 I saw Lee Greenwood sing this LIVE in concert on the military base we were stationed at Fort Polk,Louisiana when I was in Jr high... Been my favorite patriotic song ever since!! Made me cry then, still does today. This version is AMAZING!!!😄🎶🔥✌
Your patron said this is Lee Greenwood featuring Home Free and The Air Force Band. It is actually Home Free featuring Lee Greenwood and the Air Force Band.
Great reaction yall. They were all amazing, the military people have such beautiful voices, Adam's beatboxing was phenomenal and his 'flyover' at the end was friggin awesome and Lee Greenwood is simply impressive, at over 70 he still has good strong pipes.
It is worth your time to watch the "making of" of this video. Someone remarks that Lee was able to improvise during this taping for the first time while singing this song because of corporate decisions that required it be sung in a certain way. You can really feel his released passion and it is absolutely GORGOUS. This is an absolute MUST HAVE in ANY patriotic playlist.
Lee Greenwood released it in 1984. When he decided tp update it he asked both the The US Air Force Band and Home Free to join him. He's the first singer here. Oh and the castle in Nashville is his own home. (Lee's 77 yrs old here)
The best part of this reaction is you singing along. The facial expressions were pure joy. Add that to an amazing version of the song and it’s an all around great time.
They use to close every show with this song. Which was arranged by the founder of the group Chris Rupp. They did a video at Mount Rushmore also you may want to watch. Please listen for the fly over that Adam Rupp the beatboxer does. Truly enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.
This should be our new national anthem.. I remember being in first grade and my mom taking me out of school because my uncle was higher ranking in the military and he had to deal with the World Trade Centers or at least with the facilities inside..... I remember my mom coming and get me out of class in first grade and sitting by the TV waiting to make sure my uncle was okay.... God Bless the USA
I'm not American, but gotta say this is really stirring. I know what u guys mean about hairs standing up. I'm Welsh and fiercely proud of my country, heritage and language. Good on you. Great reaction.
Hey, I'm American, but I lived in Haverfordwest, for a couple of years, in the 80s, when I was in the military!! BEAUTIFUL country---I love all of Britain; and, luckily, got to see alot of it!! ❤️ Nos Da!! (That's the only Welsh, I know, cuz the newscaster said it, every night!! LOL)
@@catwhisperer9489 my guess is you were in Brawdy then. I lived in H/west in 70s and 80s while I was in school. when I finished school in 82 I left, my mum still lives there tho
This is a song I sang in karaoke for years and I'm no great talent. But many times I'd have veterans or their families come up to me with tears in their eyes or full out crying to tell ME Thank You! And I'd usually end up in tears trying to let them know that it was I who owed THEM thanks. This version is soooo special. After decades of singing it the same way, Lee Greenwood was able to entrust his song to others and to put in all those special heartfelt adlibs that took this to another level. And although I get choked up every time I hear this song, when Adam starts that military snare cadence, I lose it. He does it in Traveling Soldier too and I erupt into huge goosebumps every time! Home Free always takes us along for the ride. I never leave a song feeling like "Meh, it was ok." That and the fact that no matter how long you've been a fan, you still forget, that aside from a few songs, this has only voices as instruments! Thank you for your reaction! 🇺🇸❤
As I understand it, Lee Greenwood liked the fact that he could throw in some ad libs that he can't when it's just him. I think you folks might also enjoy "Locked and Loaded" by Max Impact (the U.S. Air Force's official rock band).
I challenge composers in other countries to write original songs that are just as touching for their people is this is for Americans. It has to be original, no copying allowed.
Please, please do yourselves a favor and listen to "All She Wants Is" by Duran Duran. I've met long time Duranies that have never heard this song!! It is one of their best! Hot! Sexy! Maybe, so sexy, that it is embarassing for some, but I have no shame when it comes to my boys!! I've been a Duranie since I was 13, my 1st concert ever; and my most recent on 9/04/22 in San Fran! I don't have much money. I'd donate if I could. But, I'm still trying to get someone to react to this song. Also, listen to Wing from their new album Future Past. It is incredible and my new favorite song!
From this veteran to your son a big salute. Thank you for your sacrifice and allowing him to serve. God bless you all.
Lee Greenwood said that this is the first time he has been able to sing this song the way he wanted because there was someone carrying the melody.
You do realize this is all a capella, right?
Did you catch Adam doing the flypast right at the end, im not American but it gets to me every time I hear it.
Goodbumps = Patriots who love this country and our military men and women!
My Uncle & friends died for all that we have. NEVER STOP FIGHTING FOR IT!
It SOOOO warms my heart to see such young people, who are so patriotic!! You guys are the best!!! ❤️
I'm a rocker but love a little bit of everything from 70's and early 80's pop, classic Motown, even a little bit of blue grass to classic country like this. Love Lee Greenwood, he has such soul and his songs have meaning.
I'm not even an American and hearing this song makes me proud.
God bless this country and its people. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Agreed! I'm Canadian and respect the patriotism of the U.S.A. and this song is wonderful!
Welcome to our family. We love you as well!
I'm a military brat and this song chocks me every blessed time. Thanks to our servicemen and servicewomen.🇺🇲
Im proud to say every branch of the military has been represented in my family....dad (Army Air Corp, Normandy), cousins (Marines, Desert Storm), cousin (Navy), nephew (Army), youngest daughter (Air Force, Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Qatar), and oldest grandson (Air Force, currently serving). Lee was 77 when they recorded this!
This song always tugs at the heart strings, but they get me good every time with this arrangement. Thank you ^_^
Holy smokes that was AWESOME I've never heard this version
America's song ... the very best version IMO ... thanks for this one you two !
Outstanding!
Yay!! Thanks guys !!Appreciate you all!! Cutest couple ever!!❤
A great reaction guys! I also get chills every time.
Makes me sad that not everyone who lives here feels this way.
Guys, Home Free published a whole patriotic album last year, called Land of the Free....you guys would love it. I played it at July 4th pool party with the neighbors and now their Home Free fans too
This is the absolute best version of this song ever and Darren Rust the guy at the mixing board convinced Lee to really go for it.
Chills with Pride & Patriotism 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I LOVE this song and Home Free added to it. I admit I cry every time I hear this and LOVE your reaction. This was done during lock down. This broke the utube watching, won an award for this.
Awesome...loved Adam's cadence drumming at the end
Wow! Tear in my eye! Quiver in my chin! Fire in my heart and iron in my bones! I'm an AMERICAN! "Don't Tread on Me!"
Nice words cannot describe this.🔥🔥🔥
This is America's song. God Bless the USA
I want a castle too!!! Lmao😂😂😂

Is he dead yet?
I love the original but this performance is just a great as the original, GOD Bless the USA
“Couple of crazies.” Ha! Good one. Love y’all ❤

They’ve done this reaction… brilliant 🎉
Amen
That "castle" is one of the recording studios they're using for this song.
I don't know if you've seen the Home Free video "God Bless Texas" - it's so stirring (and I'm not even an American).

This or Lee's original and Ray Charles singing "America the Beautiful" tears me up.

Lee Greenwood 's house/studio
I want a castle too!!! 😂❤
Beautiful 🥰😂❤
That castle is the studio. But I'd like to have it too lol

I love featuring lee greenwood?? This is his song!! Don’t care if it’s a remake. He should be listed first.
That is not a castle. It is a recording studio. I think it is called Castle Rock.
Totally a capella
You really should check out Homefree Sea Shanty Medley or the Butts Remix. Your cheeks will hurt from smiling
I just want a small house to live in!!! I am tired of living in my vehicle. I am 65 retired and on fixed-income and a vet!!!
What a powerful song indeed, I love my country I just hate the politians who are trying to destroy it.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
So the question is, do you really want Home Free to cover your song?
another great reaction..please check out STEEL HEART ANGEL EYES
