Lee Greenwood wrote this song, it was one of his biggest hits back in the 80s. The Singing Sergeants make it extra special. This was recorded during the travel restrictions ; the buildings they show at the beginning are the recording studios that they used since they couldn't travel to be together. Lee was 75 when this was recorded.
Thank you for your service! LOVE this version. Can't listen without my eyes welling up. Is it ok for me to say Go Texas? Hold that line . . .we are with you! God Bless the USA.
The fact that it was Lee who reached out and asked HF to do this with him proofs how great they are after the release Lee said that he came into the studio and asked how they wanted to do this and was told it´s your song you lead and we´ll follow that gave him the freedom to do all the adlibs because he knew that together they would make an amazing updated [ IMO upgrated ] version BOY WAS HE RIGHT 🤯🤯even i a dane get goosebumps 😂😂much love and respect from Denmark 🥰🥰🥰
That reminds me of a Jewish orchestra conductor who was interviewed and asked about how he felt about leading so much music rooted in Christianity. He replied that Christian music themes are about birth, death, joy, sorrow, love of God, redemption, and the whole range of the human experience, so he can fully appreciate the feelings in all of it. You as a Dane can appreciate the love of country and freedom expressed in this song.
Put together during covid lockdown. That's why you see the four different cities, the masks and social distancing. Imagine if they were all in one place!
Semper Fi. Leatherneck. This is my favorite version of this song. Greenwood was even better in this on than any other recordings he made of it. OORAH!!!
Lee Greenwood said that singing his iconic song with Home Free & the Singing Sergeants gave him the freedom to ad lib and alter the song. He still sounds fantastic & the harmonies, singing & beatboxing just augment the piece. One needn't be American (I'm Canadian) to appreciate the patriotism & sentiment of the song. Great reaction!
I am a navy veteran and saw Lee greenwood sing this so g In The hanger bay of the uss midway as part of a uso show. The memory of that day will always be one of my most treasured
Congratulations to your new citizen in your family!! I prefer the other version, but I do like that they included the Singing Sergeants, and that they got to collaborate with Lee Greenwood.
Young man, from a sister of an Army brother that died due to Agent Orange in Vietnam, a mother of a Marine of 2 tours in Iraqi Freedom, and currently a grandmother of Lt in the wonderful Marine Corps, thank you for your service, YOU and men and women like your are the reason we are still the home of the free because of the brave! All gave some, some gave ALL ❤️🇺🇸❤️ GOD BLESS THE USA !
My cousin Mike didn’t make it back from Vietnam… I thank your family’s service as well and we as military families stand for one another! I’m grateful to all who have served ❤
I've been a fan of this song from way back when, but it just hits different right now knowing that my youngest son is currently at Navy Basic Training! As the daughter and sister of veterans, and the mom of a future veteran, I salute all of our American heroes, no matter the branch! Thank you for your service from the very bottom of my heart!
From a Vietnam era veteran, I must say the song says it all. There is no need to explain anything or a need to highlight any one part of it. The whole song stands by itself as a testament to this country. I am certainly glad Lee wrote this song many years ago and that he is still around to do it again but with lots of help this time. Be safe, brother. May your days be blessed.
It never matters the occasion or setting that I hear this song. I ALWAYS cry. What a gift and honor it must have been to be able to work with Mr. Greenwood on this for all of the other artists in this video. This one is a gem! There's no other voice like his. Thank you for this
This is one of the most patriotic songs of all time and there's a hidden sign in the song lyrics if you just put your hand on your forehead and go from Detroit down to Houston the New York to LA you just did the sign of the cross..
Love this song , this song means alot to all true Americans. But this version makes me cry every time hearing it. The collaboration is EPIC ! Bringing in Lee Greenwood and the USAF Band was the perfect fit. To do this 8n 4 different places because of covid and to do it all A Cappella amazes me
The standing sway that you’re doing is so common amongst military members and Moms with babies in their arms. To me it feels like parents dancing to the universe while providing comfort and safety to something or someone they hold dear. We are your invisible slow dance partners.
A very powerful and emotional rendition of this great song. Was a fan of it when it first came out and this version with Lee Greenwood, Home Free and the Air Force Band just takes it to another level. Semper Fi.
I just lost my uncle a week ago. He was a Vietnam Veteran and my husband is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan this song means so much to me and holds even more meaning for me ❤️ I love this one soooooooo much ❤❤❤❤
I love when Lee Greenwood does this song by himself but this version takes it to another level! The truck convoy should be blasting this on their journey! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
“Brothers in Arms “ by Homefree is a must hear if you haven’t already also LeAnn Rimes- A - cappella version of “Amazing Grace “ of her singing alone in a church is soul moving
I love how Lee added in this one God please bless USA!! Congratulations to your family member!! Listen listen to Home Free’s version of. Only in the USA!! It shows several new citizens lives after getting their citizenship! Thanks for protecting our country and the freedoms we enjoy!!! God bless you and your family! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Happy Birthday!🎊 🎉 Congratulations to your family member also!!❤❤ I know right, it’s so beautiful to see all of Ruthie service men and women sing with them and Lee Greenwood! So beautiful, this version/video brings tears to my eyes every single time!😢 Thank you for reacting to this version that Home Free did!❤️❤️
SO glorious! Very cool how they got this done despite the pandemic! ❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️ Adam doing the flyover ✈️ sounds at the end always gives me an extra dose of goosebumps 🥰 #HomeFree
From a ol' submariner, WELCOME HOME AND THANK YOU MARINE!! because of you and the ones you served with, my grandchildren slept safe, and grew up FREE! I take that serious. When i was in bootcamp in '87 , we could leave the "house" ( barracks) to attend Church on sundays. At the end of every service they played this song , we sang along. I never got thru it without choking up. It helped me realize just how BLESSED we are to be Americans!! This version is unreal!! When i hear Lee hold that note a little longer in the last chorus, i get goosebumps!! He still got it. Sorry for the long post. So yes, this song has alot of meaning for me too. Thanks for posting it.
Check out Home Free’s rendition of ‘I Can’t Outrun You’, ‘Yours’, ‘Brothers In Arms’, ‘Snap Back’, ‘Castle On The Hill’, ‘Down In The Boondocks / Fishin’ In The Dark’ so many great songs and some of the guys solo material - Adam Chance ‘Song For Home’ / Tim Foust ‘why Do Fools Fall In Love’ / Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist ‘Nessun Dorma’ / and Adam Rupp’s Drum Solos - these guys are insanely talented.
It’s so good. This was during Covid too and it was still amazing. Somehow they put it all together. Everyone sounded so good. Nice to see Lee Greenwood back…he sounds great! Good one TW! You should react to Skull and Bones…Chance wrote it. It’s great!🥰😃 Thank you for your service!
This is by far the best version of this song. Congratulations to your family member on becoming a citizen and doing it the right way. I've been watching a livestream of the Take Our Border Back convoy for a good 5 hours. Love ya TWR! Thanks for the reaction!
I love this! It is so impressive! What a wonderful collaboration with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force band. One by one such beautiful voices which match so well with the voices of Home Free. The fact that Lee Greenwood remains the center of attention I think shows a lot of respect for this great singer. But Adam Rupp tops it off with his incredible beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds.
Wasn't that awesome? This was during the pandemic and the guys were sort of separated in their own cities that they live in. Luckily Tim and Austin live around Nashville and were able to go into the studio with Lee Greenwood. He can still sing really amazing at his age. He's 81 years old now. All of this was done Acapella and Adam the beatboxer really did his part and even sounded like a flyover at the end of the song.
Dang, I hate that one of my favorite bands I've recently discovered actually played into this Political B.S. Sorry Twiztid Whiskey Reactions, I hope you can one day find a way to separate your political feelings from art.
Listen to it again and realize its acapella.... No musical instruments... That's what Home Free does... What a great job!
THE. BEST. VERSION. OF. THIS. SONG!!!
#HOMEFREE.....outstanding!
Great reaction!!! A big thanks for your service .
This is so beautifully done! Lee Greenwood still has it! This version is so very awesome! ♥ #HOMEFREE

This is a lesson in how to turn a great song into a masterpiece.
God bless the USA is a fantastic song.
this should be our national anthem
Thank you for your service. My mother was also in the Marines.
This absolutely the best version of this song I’ve ever heard. Lee Greenwood still sounds great.
That flyover at the end courtesy of the Ruppster is the sound of freedom!
This Marine Mom salutes you. My son retires from the Corps in 2009 after 21 years. I live next door to Quantico.😊
That is awesome!

Nice story you started with. Congrats to him.
You might like Home Free's song "Land of the Free". Tim Foust, the bass wrote it.
Lee Greenwood, Home Free, and the United States Air Force Singing Sargeants, makes, in my opinion, the best version of this song I've ever heard!

They all recorded in different places. Not all in the same place.
@@xScooterAZx You´re right it was Darren who told Lee to go for it

They’re the USAF SING SARGENTS …. They are pretty awesome ‼️
Lee Greenwoods voice is still as strong and clear as ever, this is the best version yet.
