I am a Vietnam Veteran. I had spent 2 years over there. I have been Diagnosed with Agent orange Which Caused Me too had Bladder cancer Twice , P t s d Diabetes, Parkins disease. And Just got treated For Liver cancer. I love my country and I love my Flag. I am so proud to be an american. I do not regret serving my Country .❤😊
Thank you for your service. As the daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin of veterans I appreciate your service and your family's sacrifice.
The original singer/songwriter, Lee Greenwood, is in his mid-seventies, yet he still has an amazing voice. Did hear that fly-over at the end. That was Adam Rupp, singer/beatboxer
Lee Greenwood still sounds amazing, to listen to him you would never know that he was 77 when this video was made. They indeed have "drums", but they come from the mouth of the talented beat boxer Adam Rupp. Everything about this song is a capella.
It is not a military band here, It is actually a vocal group from the USAF called the "Air Force Sargeants" that sing along with Home Free and Lee Greenwood. There is a member of Home Free that does the voice beat box, but the entire performance is a capella-no musical instruments at all (unless you consider the voice an instrument).
Lee Greenwood sounds great for 77! He wanted to do a remake and contacted Home Free and the US Air Force Singing Sergeants. Home Free is so good. There were no drums, just the HF beatboxer doing the drum sounds. He’s remarkable. Good reaction!
The Singing Sergeants apparently sing for ceremonial events, and concerts. This was recorded during the shutdown, which is remarkable in itself. I always loved this song, and this rendition brings even more richness by allowing Lee Greenwood to do ad libs that he has always wanted to do. Great reaction!
The military drumming and "flyover" by Adam Rupp at the end there were AMAZING! The soldiers in the US Air Force Band are also called "The Singing Sergeants." My understanding is that they have served in other areas before transferring to this group. They have smaller groups within the band that go to various places to perform at concerts and call attention to the military and what they do around the world.
Didn't that give you chills? Lee Greenwood is 80 and still has great vocals, such a good song he wrote. It was all acapella, the amazing drum sounds were from Home Free's beatboxer Adam, he even made the jet flyover sound at the end of it.
I saw Lee perform this in Vancouver, Washington on the 4th in 1980 or '81. I cried then and I am crying now. This song reminds me of my uncle who died in WW2 and my older brother who died in Viet Nam.
I am a Vietnam Veteran , I want to THANK you for your Support of our Military & Veterans , I too have Cancer from Agent Orange , BUT i have No regrets & if need would gladly defend her again
Great reaction! Thanks for your respect to the veterans that protect our freedoms! Did you hear the beat boxer drumming throughout the performance? And the flyover at the end?? This is a fantastic collaboration!… Are you sure you listen to the video the making of God bless the USA! It’s great to see the interaction between the three groups as they were making this! Lee, Producer Darren Rust, at home free discussing what this song means to them!! Listen to a Home Free singing “land of the free” & and “my country ‘tis of Thee!”
Cool things about this version - Lee Greenwood finally got a chance to do things during this recording that his label wouldn’t let him do before; the young lady who sang “from the hills of Tennessee is actually from Tennessee; “across the plains of Texas” by born and bred Texan, Tim Foust; “from the lakes of Minnesota” by Rob who has lived in Minnesota all of his life; “from sea to shining sea” by Chance who was born in Florida, grew up in Alabama, and now lives in LA!
Military musicians and singers are recruited specifically to perform music and undergo a rigorous audition process. These people are not trained as soldiers, and all represent their specific branches tremendously. I am fortunate to live near the US Coast Guard Academy and thoroughly enjoy their performances ... concert band, jazz band, Big Band, etc. So much talent that they share not only locally, but internationally as well.
The only instruments are Tim Foust the bass and Adam Rupp the beatboxer. If you hear the fly over that Adam did? Enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.
SO glorious! Very cool how they got this done despite the pandemic! ❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️ Adam doing the flyover ✈️ sounds at the end always gives me an extra dose of goosebumps 🥰
Thank you for the nice reaction and well-wishes. You guys have great chemistry together, and created a very enthusiastic reaction. I hope that you both have a great Fourth of July also!
I know I'm a Mutt.............I was born in this country but I came from ....as most of us from other countries.... but I'm truly proud to be an American.. this song gives me chills..
My dad was a veteran of The War In the Pacific (China, Burma, India) and Korea. Served in these theaters as well as Oklahoma, Missouri, Washington D.C., Germany, Detroit, the after 22 years he taught Army reservists another 11. I was 4F (flat feet), but as an Army brat (even at 73) I get choked up listening to this.
I love you guys. Sorry I'm so late on watching this, but along the way, life happened - what can i say? You both have wonderful insight. Your wifey is super smart and I love her. My hubs just retired from military after 20 years. It's really a wonderful/shitty life. Sorry. Just is. But truly thank you so much for listening to Home Free's rendition of Lee's song and honoring our soldiers. Really appreciate this one.
The GREATEST country in the world because we are free. We can choose what we want to be and how we worship. You young people better wake up or it will be gone. I say young because you are the future.
You need to watch the Star Bangle Banner as you have never heard it. It tells the story behind Frances Scott Keys who wrote the words. It will give you a whole new meaning and outlook to the National Anthem.
That was the Air Force band they aren't going to fight on the front lines anyways. I myself was in the Army, my MOS (Military Occupational Skill) was 11 Bravo or Army Infantry. I never saw any Air Force band members that can sing clearing houses or going on missions with us in Iraq back in 2004.
Not a band, but actually a vocal group and one of them is actually making the music with his mouth. So take a look and listen. That makes the song even that more special because it is a cappella with non-instruments but yet instruments.
Good reaction, but I have to nitpick one thing. You called them the "army band", and it is actually Air Force. As a retired Air Force member, I don't want my peeps to be called "army band". Other than that, good stuff.
Though this is a very patriotic song, I wish Lee Greenwood had not designated Americans as a place rather than as humans. "I'm proud to be an American, WHERE..." It would be much more sensible to nake it "I'm proud to be an American, WHO at least knows I'm free." Or "...an American because at least..." Anyway it was sung very well and you guys had a nice reaction.
I would also quibble with the wording that the soldiers "GAVE those rights to me." They secured those rights. As stated in the Declaration of Independence, we are endowed by our Creator with rights including life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and governments - including military and law enforcement - are instituted to secure those rights.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Instead of agent orange I got lymphoma cancer from the burn pits in Iraq, lol.

A wonderful rendition of this song. Lee Greenwood wrote and recorded this in 1984. He is now 80.

It’s so beautiful! Chills every time I listen to this one.
Such a beautiful rendition of this beautiful song. I love Homefree ❤
You need to do more Homefree ❤
I have seen a number of reactors not give Home Free any credit, They are the best out there.
God Bless the USA all the way today and everyday!
USA!!! USA!! We will always stand for what our founding father created.
I have to stop listening to this song so much. I fear dehydration losing so many tears.
I hope ya'll love this song as much as I do...And God bless us all that believe.

This such a beautiful song. Considering that this was done during the pandemic, it was done so well. Love your reactions!
All the instruments are made by vocals of Home Free. Incredible, beautiful.
This song is beautiful 🔥😊
Thank you reacting to this song.

Great Stuff!! You Two Are A Great Couple. Your One Lucky Dude! From NW Pennsylvania, God Bless!

My father has flat feet and served 20 years.
This is the first time i've watched your video. I like your channels. Thank you I love this song. I love the u s a❤😊😊😊

That song is so good, it should be the National anthem.😊

Great reaction. Thanks much and God bless 😊
Greatest thing I have done was to wear the uniform and serve as an officer in the USN.
They do have percussion instruments, all coming from the mouth of Adam Rupp of Home Free. Peace.

R.I.P. Ron( my daddy) who spent his whole 30 USAF career in the band...why i was born in Panama😂😂
Where do i find someone like Lulu. Good caring heart, great smile and laugh, drop dead gorgeous and sexy body. Wow, you're a lucky guy.
Love you guys ❤
This song was written and recorded by Lee greenwood originally in 1984

Sounds Beautiful ❤
Lee reached out to Home Free to do this for the 50th anniversary of this song filmed during the covid lock down hence the many locations.

❤❤❤❤❤
❤
dad had flat feet for vietnam. he spent war in england deciphering russian communications
I think this song should go right between the "Pledge of Allegiance"....and the "Star Spangled Banner".....
The various armed services recruit musicians based on their talents specifically for these performance groups.
yes, this was filmed during covid...
Good reaction, but I have to nitpick one thing. You called them the "army band", and it is actually Air Force. As a retired Air Force member, I don't want my peeps to be called "army band". Other than that, good stuff.
Actually now they allow flat feet in the military.
Listen to him him, he’s smart
Love you both
🖤🍟
I remember they used to sing this before football games. Now today they wouldn’t sing it at a game to save a life.
Interestingly enough, Home Free and the Singing Sargeants performed this at halftime last Nov. For the Vikings Dallas game...
Home free just sings other peoples songs. They are what is called a cover band. This song is 100% Lee Greenwoods.
Sorry dude, everybody goes through boot camp!
