One of the greatest and most patriotic songs ever written. Whenever I feel down or upset about whats going on in this great country of ours, this song lifts me up and fills my heart and soul with happiness. God Bless America and God Bless our troops and all patriots of this great land of ours. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You Americans are the luckiest people on earth. Thank you Lee Greenwood for this beautiful song. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it. May God bless you all.
He was the entertainer at our hospital gala. I was the photographer and after his performance, the high rollers met with him. First thing Lee said, “We can do the photos first so the photographer can go home”. That is a caring man!
I've never made it to the end of this song without tears streaming down my face and great pride welling up in my heart. I love America so much!! She really is the greatest country in the world.
ALL AMERICANS SHOULD TAKE THIS SONG TO HEART. SPEAKS NOTHING BUT TRUTH. GOD SET US ASIDE TO LIVE FREELY NOT FIGHT EACH OTHER. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL HIS PEOPLE.

I'm so proud of you and every one in our armed services. I also love Lee Green wood. All of youall are wonderful people. Thank all who served and are serving.
I am a proud member of the Alabama Patriot Guard and I first heard this song on my very first mission. A Memorial Day service that we stood for. While I was standing the "flag line" I watched an elderly gentleman, sporting a WWII Veterans cap, hobble up to the "guest section" with his folding chair. I had watched this gentleman, hobble his way from the parking area, unfold his chair, and regale in the proceedings. I was many rows back, just watching him, This was a 90 + year old WWII Veteran. When it came to the part of the song, where it says, "I would gladly stand up", I watched this wonderful man, shaking and wobbling, stand from his folding chair and salute... From that moment to this day, I have been a proud member of the Patriot Guard and a lover of this song. Bless you Lee Greenwood and God bless the USA!
Love Lee Greenwood as a performer but most of all as a Great Patriot and American and for being a kind beautiful human being as well. Love you Lee❤❤❤❤❤

I remember when Lee Greenwood sang God Bless the U.S.A. at a National prayer service held at Yankee Stadium about two weeks after the 9/11 Attack on America. When he got to the part singing "from New York to L.A." there was a huge roar and applause from the people there. THANK YOU for helping Our Country, as so many suffered and struggled while waving American Flags during that 9/11 Memorial Service
Thank y’all veterans for your service, sacrifice and dedication to this nation we call home. Without y’all, we wouldn’t be here today with the freedoms, rights and liberties today. So thank you all for your service to this nation, and the ones that are either still serving or deceased. God bless y’all.

I was about 12 when I heard Lee sing this song live. A very unforgettable moment in my life. I sing this song to my granddaughter. I want her to know she lives in the greatest nation in the world and she can be proud to be an American!! Thank you Lee Greenwood for an amazing song!!!
That song was inspired by the drawing of sixteen soldiers. It's a drawing by Mark Rodriguez. I wrote it for the drawing.,when I was in the 6th grade .what are the odds.

Great song for sure.. Yes, I'm crying too. This song has so many memories. My ex husband was in the Navy then heading out to war.. Years later my mom saw Lee Greenwood in Branson . She said how wonderful of a man he was.. He Loves our country.... God Bless you Lee and God Bless the USA....
LOVE this song. I heard a preschool class of kids singing this fortissimo. That is the best ever rendition of this song that I have ever EVER heard. Why don't Americans have a flag ceremony in schools,? We sang our National Anthem and recited the pledge and another patriotic song. EVERY SINGLE DAY. We even sang before the workday once a week.
When I was an elementary school teacher, I would teach my first-grader one patriotic song per month. Wish I would've taught them this one. I did teach this song to my daughter, though, when I homeschooled her for a couple years. She was born right after this song came out.. early 90s. Thank you Lee Greenwood. I remember you at my house when i was growing up. You played a gig with my dad Walter Scott here in Las Vegas. How happy my dad was for your sucess. I miss my dad he was a patriot . In rasing our family. God Bless the U.S.A. and God Bless you
Outstanding. No matter how many times I hear this song, it brings a tear to my eye. It's songs like this that reminds me that America is good despite all the junk today. 🇺🇸❤️
Lee Greenwood recorded a video singing God Bless The USA with Home Free. It is beautifully sang also. I have always loved and admired Lee Greenwood. Very talented Thanks
I will never forget the first time I heard this beautiful song. It was July 4th, 1984 in Tempe Az. Heart swells with pride and eyes fill with tears every time I hear it again. No one sings it like Lee.
Thank you so much for saying it will never be a political song, wish the young would learn how much our soldiers gave to us, they deserve the very best America has to offer, each and every one of them!
I am one of those that served, thank you for your thoughts that we deserve as much as our country can do for us, however this old man was taught the value of work from my parents, thus I have never asked for a hand out and worked until last August at 66! God made me able to retire from my local sheriff's office with a good pension and I do fine!! What you said is special and made my day! We served because behind each member were their families and friends and their communities.
@@GM8101PHX I lost two brothers to Nam, one was told he never should have been drafted due to a weak heart, the other was on the flight line and sprayed with agent orange regularly, my younger brother died at 42 from a brain aneurysm, my other brother died after he did a year in Washington DC after 9/11 of dementia and a stroke at the ripe old age of seventy three, they were treated like garbage when they came home, but not once did either regret their service, they are real hero’s,
I am not even an American but I feel so patriotic when listening to this song, especially when Lee sang it at the RNC 2024 after the the incident/attempt on President Trump.
God Bless the USA was played at my USAF husband and 11 year old son’s memorial service in 1988 on Ramstein AFB, Germany. A year later I met Lee in Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. ( my home town) where he sang this song. I was able to tell him my story. He cried and gave me a hug. Thank you, Lee for believing in what America stands for and supporting our troops. God has truly blessed you and others through your talent. My favorite song of all time, as well as my husband who died.
My Dad would be so proud of this song. I remember he taught us to respect others especially those serving our country , to take up for those less fortunate, Always stand for the flag and National Anthem. My Dad loved the USA as he served in WWII under General Patton. I still remember lessons learned,. Proud to be an American! God bless the USA. Thank you to the men and women who are serving now, to those who have served in the past, and to those who have past away, and to those who were injured in many ways. God Bless you all.! ( RIP Dad)
Thank You Lee Greenwood! What a precious gift you have given everyone. America is so divided today I wish you could all get together and sing this one and remember 'the men who died' for your freedom. I can't help the tears welling up when I hear it. As a Canadian, it makes me sad to see Americans fighting each other so fiercely. Remember, you are all proud Americans! 🦅
Wonderful song, I could never forget, this song was played, on the day I swore as an AMERICAN CITIZEN AT THE LA CONVENTION CENTER. I can never sing it, because it gets me so emotional, my throat is swollen with pride. It is so true, we owe our freedom to all the service man, that gave their life for AMERICAS Freedom
LEE Greenwood was at the 50th anniversary of the New River Air Station at the air show. We were sitting In The vip section and my sister in law asked me. Is that Lee Greenwood. They had him in a commies, but he had his bread. Sort of stood out. 😂 Later we watched him standing right at the stage could almost touch him perform God Bless The USA. He was wearing tight jeans and a white leather jacket that the fringe on his sleeves was to his knees. Best night ever. He later came over to the Officers club with us and played for us on the Baby grand! A fantastic man. I only wish I knew what happened to the video my sister in law made of him on stage that night! It was up close and a little personal. 😊 She long since passed! 😢
My best memory of hearing this song was while working a rodeo. They had a man with a parachute trailing the American flag drop into the arena while this song played. Iwas in charge of the few cowboys that would catch the flag as he landed. Iwas humbled and honored to stand next to Lee Greenwood as he gave a live performance once at one of the rodeos.
I had the opportunity to play God Bless the USA while participating in a parade and was amazed by how all the parade watchers stand to their feet like it was the national anthem!
He turned himself to black sheep to be around the imposter bible pushers instead he did and was the one of the great singer! We lost a decent man to evil minded shysters to use his decency and moral values to to their sickening marketing cheap shot low class dirty business to took advantage of this gentleman!
Google our nationL anthem at ft McHenry .patriots died at the base of the rampart to keep the flag flying in spite of all the shelling from British ships in the harbor..key was on board to negotiate prisoner exchanges.. the british captain told him when the rampart with the flag falls the war will be over and we would have won the war..they found many bodies of those patriots who died keeping our flag flying ..the british ships ran out of ammo
Great song, the Patriots in DC at the DC prison sing his song nightly at the end of their nightly vigil. At # Freedom Corner. They pray and keep the spirits of all these people in the hearts of American. It will be one full year these Patriots (Americans) have been at this corner, threw snow, rain, winds, nasty bullies, But that song means a lot to them. Thank you 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏼🎗️🎶
I love this song because it holds an extraordinary place in my heart. In August 2000, I stepped on the yellow footprints of Paris Island, South Carolina. In December, I stood in front of the Iwo Jima Monument, and as this song was playing, I received my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, as well as the coveted title of United States Marine. With all of the thoughts of what a Marine is, and despite our harsh, rough, arrogant, and cocky exterior that Marines can convey, a lot of us are also actually very big softies; if you could break through that exterior wall, you will find a whole new person. This song is one of those that will do it. I will never forget that moment as I stood there with my hand out and had my drill Instructor, SSgt. Taglabough put my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in my hand and said, “Welcome aboard, Marine.” Looking at the Marines to my left, right, and center, I see every new Marine that received that title just became overwhelmed with emotion. There was not a single dry eye in the house. It’s incredible to see 800+ new Marines not caring about who will see them vulnerable and in such a raw state; letting their guard down is a rare thing, but emotional tears of pride have flooded every eye. Not just for the title that you earned and received and for the accomplishment you just completed, other than taps. The song will do it.
I was glad that president trump pushed forward with the J6 Insurrectist song too. Had he not done that, it would not have been in the Top 10 for a Whole Day, beating Taylor Swift!
i worked at a manufacturing facility where we could select songs that played on the overhead. We had a supervisor that picked this song almost everyday, it gives me goosebumps everytime.
I am honored and blessed to be a fomer U.S.O. Show Troop member and toured from 1985-1988 performing for our brave men and women serving in the military. We closed our shows with this touching song. By the end of God Bless the USA, all of us had tears running down our cheeks. There was one time we got so choked up it was difficult to sing. We had a show in the Gator Bowl for the families of those lost on the USS Stark and the surviving members with their families. We were excited when we heard Mrs. Hope was flying in for the show and sang with us which made the show so special for everyone!
I remember standing on the mall in DC with hundreds of thousands of military and their families for the Desert Storm homecoming parade. This dong warmed up and thousands upon thousands of us stood up singing loudly and proudly in unison to the well kniwn lyrics
My ex husband and I were at the Houston Texas BBQ concert cookoff at the Astro dome when this song came out our DJ we were using kept playing this song over and over. We didn’t win but we placed with our ribs. God Bless Texas America
Tears flowing...I always get cold chills and a warmth runs through my body everytime I hear this song. The version he did a few years ago with all the service men and women is my absolute favorite
This is my patriotic song! I can hear or sing along without crying. This says so much as Americans. God bless Lee.Greenwood for writing This song. HE is a true American..
Most special moment I can say about hearing this wonderful song was while attending the United States Air Force Academy, at the conclusion of the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) school. We're all in formation with the "enemy flag flying behind us in a "POW" camp, tired and worn out after all of the physical and psychological "warfare". The POW Commodant is standing in front of us giving us a speech about how "his country" will never fall because of the strength of "his" people --- with everyone getting more pissed off at his commentary. Meanwhile, in secret, the "enemy flag" is lowered behind us, and the US flag run up. As the commandant concludes his "pep talk", We're told to about face, we see the Stars&Stripes flying and God Bless the USA starts playing. Of course this is the conclusion of training, and "his country" was, of course, the United States of America. Don't think there was a dry eye there among us! God Bless you for writing this amazing song, and God Bless America!
I went through school with Lee, Hagginwood Elementary, through Norte Del Rio High School. He always had a musical leaning and was the drum major for our marching band. Almost all of us had very low income families but many of the residents came from the Southern states to work at the military bases in the area. Pretty much everybody was a churchgoer and had strong moral values. So it was a pretty good place to grow up in.
This song captures the patriotic heart...🙏to American's remembering who they really are and what they truly want this country to be like... FREEDOM over Tyranny, TRUTH over censorship, Americans over divided by race agenda/gender agenda, a constitutional republic over socialism/communism...🙏❤️ remember 🇺🇲
I echo so many when I say I can never get thru this song without tears streaming. My father was a major in the Air Force serving 20 yrs. He was so proud of his service to our country and when I hear God Bless the USA I hear my daddy singing it. Thank you Lee Greenwood for this deep in the heart song. ❤❤
I sang this song when I was in the 1st grade at my school's talent show ❤ back in 1986-87 and as I sang I thought about my grandfather who fought in WW2, my great grandfather who fought in WW1, my great uncle's who fought and my uncle who fought.
I'm not American but that song is a masterpiece
Love that song but it makes me cry. Just like the National Anthem.
Same here! Not American but this song embodies everything patriotic!

Lee Greenwood recorded a video singing God Bless The USA with Home Free. It is beautifully sang also. I have always loved and admired Lee Greenwood. Very talented Thanks
Home free ,,, band also amazing with Lee G. 🎉❤
I will never forget the first time I heard this beautiful song. It was July 4th, 1984 in Tempe Az. Heart swells with pride and eyes fill with tears every time I hear it again. No one sings it like Lee.
I almost wish it was the National Anthem. Thank you Lee Greenwood!

@@GM8101PHX I lost two brothers to Nam, one was told he never should have been drafted due to a weak heart, the other was on the flight line and sprayed with agent orange regularly, my younger brother died at 42 from a brain aneurysm, my other brother died after he did a year in Washington DC after 9/11 of dementia and a stroke at the ripe old age of seventy three, they were treated like garbage when they came home, but not once did either regret their service, they are real hero’s,
We need more,,, Lee Greenwood. These days!! Talent & necessary!!😊🎉❤ patriotism & love of USA!
A ANGEL gave him this song , he doesn’t realize it! There was a purpose in it and we have seen it now!
I feel it was God given .🙏🇺🇸
I am not even an American but I feel so patriotic when listening to this song, especially when Lee sang it at the RNC 2024 after the the incident/attempt on President Trump.
Definitely support our troops no question
May your husband rest in eternal peace with Jesus. God bless. 🙏 🕊️ ❤ 🫂
Thank You for being an Air Force wife, you worked harder than those of us veterans. I was Air Force 1976 to 1982 enlisted E-5.
@@eileenshulkin4916 - I agree and I'm happy that the J6 Insurrectionists also support our troops too.
They should sing this song at the Super Bowl
lee greenwood did sing this song one year at the Superbowl, but I can't remember exactly what year. It was sometime in the 1990s.
Yep, instead we get garbage half the time! Sad…
@@77chrysler - I agree and would like for them to also do the Insurrectionist J6 song too! That would be great!
WHAT A GOOD IDEA❤
Thank you God bless you in many ways
My Dad would be so proud of this song. I remember he taught us to respect others especially those serving our country , to take up for those less fortunate, Always stand for the flag and National Anthem. My Dad loved the USA as he served in WWII under General Patton. I still remember lessons learned,. Proud to be an American!
God bless the USA. Thank you to the men and women who are serving now, to those who have served in the past, and to those who have past away, and to those who were injured in many ways. God Bless you all.! ( RIP Dad)
I love this song and this man sang it beautifully!
God Bless Lee Greenwood n his FAMILY n USA...

IN MY VIEW
I am so glad Lee Greenwood was asked to share how he made this beautiful song 'God Bless the USA. Thank you.

Thank you. We love Canada, too.

I absolutely love this song!! I’ve been singing it a ton lately! God Bless America, I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN!! 💯🇺🇸💯🇺🇸
Wow. How rare is it for an 80 year old man to hit a note like this, 13:27? Amazing.
I guess U just don't an old Friend from way back in the 80's at Gilley's I met U there a Bartender on the front Bar we played Ms Pac Man on my break.
I had the opportunity to play God Bless the USA while participating in a parade and was amazed by how all the parade watchers stand to their feet like it was the national anthem!
I have always thought this song should be the new National Anthem for the United States. It's such a moving song! God bless you too, Lee Greenwood
He turned himself to black sheep to be around the imposter bible pushers instead he did and was the one of the great singer!
We lost a decent man to evil minded shysters to use his decency and moral values to to their sickening marketing cheap shot low class dirty business to took advantage of this gentleman!
Google our nationL anthem at ft McHenry
.patriots died at the base of the rampart to keep the flag flying in spite of all the shelling from British ships in the harbor..key was on board to negotiate prisoner exchanges.. the british captain told him when the rampart with the flag falls the war will be over and we would have won the war..they found many bodies of those patriots who died keeping our flag flying ..the british ships ran out of ammo
A great man, a great song; thank you, Lee. Like many others, I can't get thru this song without choking up.
I was born on 4th of July 1940, i was a BSN over 40 years at VA hospital. I love my veterans!!!
GOD Bless you, Shirley!
Thank you 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏼🎗️🎶
That song gives me goosebumps.
Brother, Thank You for becoming a Marine and serving this nation!! From a vet of 6 years Air Force!
I absolutely love this song. Lee, I am so glad you pushed forward on this song.
Oh my gosh
The minute he started I got tearful! This is such a powerful song, I love it and I’m proud to be American!
That is a beautiful song ❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
Beautiful, beautiful heartfelt song!!! " I Love the USA!"
God bless America, and bless every God honoring, and freedom loving American!
❤🙏🇺🇸
I love this song. Instead of thanking my "lucky stars" I thank my loving Lord...
This song always chokes up this old Jarhead.
I remember standing on the mall in DC with hundreds of thousands of military and their families for the Desert Storm homecoming parade. This dong warmed up and thousands upon thousands of us stood up singing loudly and proudly in unison to the well kniwn lyrics
I Love this song❤
My ex husband and I were at the Houston Texas BBQ concert cookoff at the Astro dome when this song came out our DJ we were using kept playing this song over and over. We didn’t win but we placed with our ribs. God Bless Texas America
Absolutely
He always had a musical leaning and was the drum major for our
marching band.
Tears in my eyes God Bless USA
I echo so many when I say I can never get thru this song without tears streaming. My father was a major in the Air Force serving 20 yrs. He was so proud of his service to our country and when I hear God Bless the USA I hear my daddy singing it. Thank you Lee Greenwood for this deep in the heart song. ❤❤
