God willing I shall celebrate this form when I, a former Anglican Priest is Ordained in the Latin Rite. God willing it shall be the highlight of my life.
I wish I could "like" this video more than once. I hope and pray that the archdiocese flourishes under His Grace, and that the Church Militant be blessed by more like him in the (hopefully not too distant) future.
God bless you,Your Grace, for understanding the importance of the Extraordinary Form of the Sacrifice of the Mass. This is really a step in the right direction! Now if all bishops could just understand.
Magnificent! God bless the Archbishop Alexander Sample for giving a lecture about the Extraordinary Form of the Sacrifice of the Mass, Traditional Latin Mass, Tridentine Mass.,,
It seems I will finally have the privilege to attend to a Traditional Latin Mass tomorrow for the first time ever. I'm really excited about it because I had wanted to do so for a very long time and had no idea where I could find one.
If you happen to live near Salem, Oregon, there is a Tridentine Latin Mass every 1st Sunday of each month at 6:45 am at St. Joseph's in Salem! If you live near Portland, there is a Latin Mass every sunday at 8am at St. Birgitta's up there too!
Archbishop Sample is a beautiful man. I love the elegant lace, the rich fabrics, the authoritatively wielded croisier, the prominent ecclesiastical ring, the stately mitre and the symbolically significant chirothecoe. Few bishops today take the effort to garb themselves so magestically. I know that his predecessor certainly did not.
Magnificent. Your Excellency please send this clip to everyone in your cathedral parish, to your pastors and all their staff, to everyone in the archdiocese for whom you have or can obtain an email address. Surely the word has gone out that you are all about the reform of the reform. Here you supply the badly needed rationale.
I soon as I left Oregon we get a Archbishop who likes the Latin Mass. I used to drive to the SSPX chapel in Veneta when I lived in Oregon. No I live in norther Washington the deacon on the left is my priest at Holyrood Cemetery we is with Fssp.
Ha! so now I know where Father Vreeland went last weekend. He is the Associate Pastor of the Latin Mass parish (North American Martyrs) that I attend in Seattle.
Longing for the Traditional Latin Mass comes back to all Parishes around the world.....Hope all bishops see the video and realize what they are missing in their parishes.....The Sacred Liturgy, the sacrifice of the Mass, in all of its solemnity, in all of its beauty, in its precision, in its beautiful chants and pageantry. Ancient, Tradition, and Sacred.
Excellent, inspiring homily on the ever-newness of the old mass - much needed at this time. Is a video of the whole mass available for viewing? Was a dvd made?
Gratias spectatissimo antistiti agimus atque fiat ut talia verba per totam ecclesiam ab omnibus fidelibus audiantur ne defectus sacrae liturgiae qui toto mundo videntur--neglegentiis episcoporum--amplius ferantur.
Portland is indeed privileged to have such a courageous bishop. I wish the TLM could be given such praise and support in other dioceses.
One word for this homily: beautiful. Thank you Archbishop Sample. God bless you! Glory to God!

The Anglican Use of the Roman Rite is quite beautiful as well.
Yes I used it quite regularly.
Yes. I would like to

It's awesome that you're with the FSSP! an awesome fraternity that has respect for both the Liturgy and for the Magisterium!
Beautiful!! Maybe I need to move to Portland!
Deo Gratias. Magnificent. Wish the whole Mass was available on video.

¿Sólo la homilía? ¿Y el resto de la Misa?
Deo gratias -
If the vestments are purple then why are the bishop's gloves and buskins white?
I imagine just a shortage of vestments
The vestments are purple because it is Quinquagesima Sunday. I believe the gloves and buskins are always white.
Hmm, pretty sure they aren't. I've seen Cardinal Burke using green gloves, for example
