@@barryg4927 well the nice thing is that it isnt pure action, it has a great plot and builds up suspense to the final climax. But also has something to say about these kind of government projects. a really great action thriller.
I listen to this while driving around in Los Angeles in my dark blue sports car while simultaneously spying on others as I struggle to hold onto my sanity.
The five million dollar prototype was destroyed when Officer Murphy, out of gas, set the helicopter down on the tracks in front of a freight train. That was the end of the helicopter, but not of this story.
I saw this in the theater , the opening lines for the movie was all technology portrayed in the movie is in use. This movie was made before Snowden, now look what we have folks.
@@mnomadvfx Yep. It either come out late 83 or early 84. Really young to remember. Love this movie though. When I saw Roy Scheider was in the movie I was like hey theirs that dude from jaws. Good stuff.
When I first saw the cover of the CD from this Movie, I was always wondering what's that strange looking thing... Little did I know that this will be my Favourite Movie of all time.
for the movie BLUE THUNDER there were 2 yes 2 real blue thunder helicopters a primary and a camera ship with the camera on top of the tail. The others were rc copters
Slick's Film Soundtracks You left off 3 of the Beepers on this track. Anthony Marinelli, Brian Banks and Cynthia Morrow as this was listed as a full band track and not just composed by Arthur B Rubinstein who was a member of the beepers.
I loved this movie when I was 15, still love it today. But considering the deliberate dissonance between the underlying theme of the story (against the excessive militarization of law enforcement) and the awesome tech and weaponry on display, I feel like this movie should really have been directed by Paul Verhoeven.
Not really. The whole point of Blue Thunder is that the aircraft is basically military grade and only supposed to be used in worst case riot or terrorism scenarios. The underlying plot is that the antagonists have been purposefully seeding violence in the city as a means of justifying the deployment of the helicopter and thereby likely a mass production contract to some rich cat military contractor in the shadows.
When you watch a real pilot in a real chopper you care about the real danger. If you watch a fake cgi scene you don't care at all...example: Terminator dark faith, you know that is just a bunch of cgi crap and you start to sleep in your chair.

One of the best movies from the 80s. Roy Scheider, Malcolm McDowell, Daniel Stern and Candy Clark great actors.
Dont forget Warren Oates
You're right. Warren Oates was a great!
Under rated and just pure action, chopper, and 80's AWESOME!

今でもDVD持って見ます🙆ロイシェイダーに憧れ、当時この作品オープニングに出てくる、カシオの減算タイマーリードセンサーだったと思います。その時計を探しまくり買った記憶が懐かしいです。
I can see every week a gazelle helicopter from the french army flying near my house..the noise of the engine reminds me of blue thunder 😍

I had this on dvd for years and had no idea what it was, finally watched it and was blown away.
The movie is such a Cult Classic that needs no remake.
Im listenining to it in 2.7 .2021
Nowadays they wold bring Apache heli.
Just like the movie this music is a classic from a time when real movies was made... Because people knew how to make movies in those days...
Brilliant synth driven soundtrack. Brings back memories! Thanks for posting!

Yes...The Great Roy Scheider !
Arthur B Rubinstein died last year. didn't know, RIP. Now where's the reissue on vinyl?
Needs an official CD release
Done using a Synclavier II Synth System.
Anthony Marinelli
80s, the best age in human hostory, and the movies are the proof of that

It became a TV series....
Other news. A new Japanese Bullet Train may appear in the Southland.... maybe
Cool movie for that time...i liked the shit with his watch hehe

Must have been very late in the year.

Great tune!

The very first few seconds reminds me to the Beverly Hills Cop II Intro theme.
Often think of this applying to Signy Mallory of the Merchant Alliance Militia from C.J.Cherryah's Union and Alliance series.
Great theme, but the hard-to-find "dance version" is even better.
Isn't that on the end of the soundtrack album?
@@MA-wq2ih It's on the vinyl release, but not the CD.
Love to see this getting a remake and only improving the FX. Would be amazing!!
No! Classics need to be left alone!
It's gonna be a drone, so I'll pass
Gerald Gorman Curious how you can improve a real helicopter and real explosions. CGI is for pussies.
Can't be done - It just ain't Blue Thunder without Roy Scheider!
This is already a perfect movie, plus the actors had to become certified pilots before filming even started. Nothing beats the real thing.
for the movie BLUE THUNDER there were 2 yes 2 real blue thunder helicopters a primary and a camera ship with the camera on top of the tail. The others were rc copters

Predates that movie by nearly a decade. So it's fairer to say T2 sounds almost like BLUE THUNDER.
