@@davidtatro7457I read that Scheider wasn’t real happy that they had his character do that towards the end of the film. But I guess if I were to try to defend the character, Murphy was not only trying to stay alive and expose Cochrane and his buddies corruption but he also always gave the civilians time to evacuate the area before the F-16’s missiles hit. Although not very much time. Haha.

Pretty accurate simulation of how that scenario would play out with the targeting system and Vulcan cannon. Even after the pilot takes his thumb off the piper, the barrel is still spinning and about 20 more rounds go off most likely hitting civies-hostages as well. This movie has aged well and is relevant today. Some neocon a-hole probably wants to implement THOR and attack helos for COVID related urban pacification.

There was an extensive article published about the helicopter when the movie came out. It was a modified Aerospatiale. The removal of the factory nose and addition of the Blue Thunder pieces gave the helicopter a balance of 70% forward, 30% back. Which meant, in order to hover, the pilot was actually holding in the controls in the reverse flight position. The stunt pilots struggled to keep the nose up enough to not crash. They could only fly for 15 minutes before needing a break while another pilot took over. Compare that to the Bell 222 Executive helicopter that was used for Airwolf. It's balance was not altered so it flew normally.

You are aware that the film involves the hero (a cop and Vietnam vet) discovering a plot to use Blue Thunder for extreme civilian enforcement, and that the plotters murder both a public official and the hero's partner to cover things up, right? This is why his conscience drives him to break the law, steal the copter, fight against his fellow police and the military, and ultimately destroy the thing.

🇫🇷 Gazelle in action (loaded up with fake props that look cool). Over 10 years ago, France dispatched military Gazelles to the Ivory Coast (former French colony in Africa) to quell violence and rioting which were putting French nationals at risk near the capital Abidjan. One such Aérospatiale Gazelle was armed with 20mm guns and let loose a few rounds into the mob. Everyone dispersed and that was the end of that nonsense. Cleaning crews later picked up the remains.

The character machines, yeah maybe, maybe not but the helicopters that they're built around, the blue thunder helicopter SA341 Gazelle is quite a bit faster and significantly more maneuverable than the Airwolf Bell 222 , the gazelle in real life performing the loop and other aerobatics and different times although the 222 is more powerful has tons more interior space and can carry quite a bit more payload, and whilst after their starring roles were completed, the Airwolf 222 did go on to a new life of an air ambulance in Germany, tragically crashing in bad weather, taking the lives of all on board back in 1992 , the blue thunder gazelles were stripped of useful parts and scrapped, not a very fitting end to such an iconic machine

Funny that even today Ah64 is not even close to being pinpoint accurate with their guns. ruclips.net/video/yotbnhfRgMY/видео.html
Spent 15 months in Afghanistan US army reserves. While slow or fast air was always welcome, just seemed a waste to use a hellfire on a single dude with an ak but whenever Apaches fired their 30mm chain guns the rounds went all over the place and they would run out of ammo in no time. Just shows the Apache was made to fight tanks not this insurgent bs.

It looks like a piece of junk. I particularly like those engine cowling things that obviously do nothing.

OK, do you wanna take a sit and she comes, she is no normal, she no fly normal, and she hit normal, this all ship is very armed, there's no others armed............... When it wants to define something powerful for a technological machine than the effects make more emotion. As to day: ehi!!! But this is invincible. 🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️🎬🎬🎬🎬👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
