The outstanding original is still being remembered while the remake has already been forgotten. 😁👍👍
And it was still Jessica Biel's best film.
what remake? :D
@@VTuber_Clipp3r exactly 😄👍
I didn't mind the remake. It's not terrible like some remakes are and they changed enough.
I watched about 10 minutes of the remake before turning it off and watching the proper film 🤣
One of the best sci-fi movies of all time
Minimeister317 I’d say The best

Anything with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it is the best

Another great novel by Philip K. Dick also.

Jerry Goldsmith: Genius of the Soundtrack
Saw this in the cinema in 1990. To have the lights go down and a movie come on to this tune was incredible ❤️
Same here ! Cool Kick ! Love those times !
❤me to '90
Was on 7 in 90. Couldn't see it. But as soon as it was on VHS my brother got a copy, and I was completely blown away. I still love this movie...... this song brings back so many good memories. My Umi (rest in power) always had us (I have 6 sibs) watched movies together with us every Sunday, on Fox. I miss my Umi.
@user-rl7mt4gh3o very young ! I'm from '67...soo...I was pretty 'mature'....hate that they don't make GOOD pictures anymore...all cgi......you should check out some older movies with stuntmen who could DIE....mostly the 70's Italian/french...stories are deep(er) too.

Paul Verhoeven's direction, Jerry Goldsmith's music and Arnie's performance.
Truly a classic.
Edit: Forgot Michael Ironside in this one. I have only seen the german dub, and did not realize that Ironside is the voice of Sam Fischer.
Hard to top that...

Don't forget Michael Ironside, he is really cool in this movie too.
Epic classic

"Hey, Jerry, do us a Conan The Barbarian, but in the future!"
"Yup"
Masterpiece created.
Jerry already composed this for Capricorn One, long before Conan. And it's about Mars as well.
@@jandreidrn Conan was composed by Basil Poledouris, but interestingly enough, Poledouris had already worked with Paul Verhoeven in 1987 on ROBOCOP, and would later work with Verhoeven again on Starship Troopers in 1997.
@@BioGoji-zm5ph I know. Another interesting fact, Jerry Goldsmith also worked with the Conan director John Milius on another film "The Wind and the Lion" years before Conan... And it had an explosive theme as well which might have inspired Basil Poledouris for his Conan music along with Goldsmith's Capricorn One.
"Hey Jerry, also throw in some Robocop while you're at it 00:39."
The true was that Paul and Jerry never talked about to create a main theme inspired on Conan. I know lot of people think about that, but its false. Indeed both themes are very different in composition. Funny is that Poledouris was inspired by Jerry in his famous Conan main theme (listen that great masterpiece The wind and the Lion wroted by Jerry in 1975).
This music is used in Spain every week since the 90's for the opening of the best soccer match of the week, the "Partidazo"! Great soundtrack!
This music was also used for Aces Iron Eagle 3 trailer.

I wish i could have had the chance to see this masterpiece in a theater in 1990!
I walked out thinking it was the best movie I had ever seen.
Excellent on the big screen 😊
The opening credits sequence alone was mind blowing!
Imagine hearing this as opening theme until 2:18, you knew you were about to experience a rollercoaster ride.
Thanks for reminding me how old I am !

1990! I watched it, came out and bought ticket again for the next show in 15 minutes...
Between the time when the oceans drank Saturn and the rise of the sons of Rekall, there was an age undreamed of. And unto this, Douglas Quaid, destined to wear the jeweled crown of Venusville upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you the days of mind adventure.
I eat Mako a lot.

Back when the moon landing was a conspiracy... Because Conan was derived from Capricorn One theme by Jerry Goldsmith.
This gives me goosebumps every time. NOTHING can touch this. The re-make is a mutation itself! Paul Verhoeven is a genius. "Give these people air!""
At least 2 elements of the remake were recycled from a script of the sequel that should've come out in 2000. Namely, the maglev car chase (which also appeared in Minority Report, which started as a sequel to Total Recall) and the elevator scene (although in Total Recall 2 it was supposed to be a space elevator).
Was watching Total Recall again just recently and was reminded how awesome the soundtrack is. The beginning of this track is literally the opening of the film. Just imagine how awesome it must've been to watch this for the first time in cinema and hear this pulsingly rhythmic score in anticipation of what you're about to see.
dude, and in THX. fucking GLORIOUS
Fck me, you are right...!
i was a skinny teen back then, alone sitting inside this huge 2 storeys old style cinema, and when this theme was played it was like whoaaa! it was like taken for a ride into mars itself. I decided I should eat proper and gain muscle afterwards
It was!!! I saw it in the theater as a child and that is exactly how I felt. And the movie didn’t disappoint and I had sophisticated taste for a kid. I saw it twice in the theatre with my Mom.
I remember seeing this in the theater when it first came out. So many years ago now but hearing the theme and becoming familiar with Paul Verhoeven other works I knew I was going to enjoy this "ride".
They don't make movie scores like this anymore. Music played huge role in making these movies so memorable. Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, James Horner, John Williams composed absolute masterpieces.
Unlike some other Schwarzenegger movies, I could watch this once a month for the rest of my life and never tire of it. If I'm flipping through the channels and find it on I have to watch it until the commercial break. There are many movies that are great for one reason or another but THIS one just has a level of perfection that is unmatched. The flow, the visuals, the direction, the acting, the script and of course THE MUSIC. It literally is movie magic. - Jerry Goldsmith, thank you so very very much for your contribution to 'Total Recall'.
Nailed it.
And, of course, the details for interpretation.
Yep, sometimes the stars align and the right people get together from top to bottom with the right story and make some movie magic. This movie had that.
True! So true! The Perfect Flick! 😍😎👍

man the movie wouldnt be half as good without this soundtrack. Jerry G. a true master of his craft
I'm impressed by the complex orchestration and melodic level of the entire score. Jerry Goldsmith at his finest.
It saddens me to no end that movies like this are no longer made. The passion and creativity was on another level. That era of entertainment is truly a lost art and resulted in many modern classics.
Jerry Goldsmith, what a powerful OST he made with this.
I love Total Recall, this movie SMELLS 80s and 90s.
Fun fact: Jerry Goldsmith also made the ost for Alien

One of the best works of Jerry Goldsmith. Majestic.
Iconic soundtrack. It captures the nature of the movie by 100 %! That's just outstanding work!

Another genuine movie 80's to early 2000 were the most creative era of Movie industry. It's an honour that I could of been part of it and had the pleasure to experience it. Hollywood these days is going somewhat in the downhill… not taking risks on creativity. It's blank and Movie industry does not take as much risks they go for the safe bet and try to appeal all the masses.
