I consider this by far the true sequel to Die Hard. Director McTernan created another masterpiece linking the two villains. One of the best soundtracks by one of the most talented composers Michael Keamen. A true tragedy to legend. RIP Michael Keamen ):

Such an iconic theme man. What a legendary film from the such an iconic series. In my opinion, the second best from the series, with the first Die Hard in First, but this is extremely close too it. Legendary cast, characters, storyline, soundtracks, comedy, and really action-packed, a film worth watching, and will always be known as legendary. Bruce Willis as John McClane never fails, and add Samuel? Iconic. A honest great throwback of a film, sad that they don't make films like these anymore, it was truly ahead of it's time.

A theme that really puts you on the edge of your seat with the amount of hype that was behind it, and what was going to happen next, which kept you wondering & focused. Really plays with your emotions and the intensity. Truly iconic this theme is. A legendary film, from such an iconic storyline of John McClane. A film that comes very close to the first film in being the greatest with the first film being first. A legendary cast, storyline, soundtracks, comedy, lots of action, intensity and emotion. Bruce Willis as John McClane truly never fails, and adding Samuel really makes it even more dynamic & iconic. Sad that they don't make movies like these anymore, truly way ahead of its time, and a great throwback to the original & first film.

+flyingspagetti Yep albeit his older brother gives him a run for his money. Personally if there ever is another Die Hard film that isn't a reboot I think they need to go back to basics. A building heist and a member of the Gruber family. I was thinking Hans Gruber's unknown son, Han's Gruber Junior would be perfect. I think Benedict Cumberbatch would be perfect for the role, I can visual a scene where he talks to a captured Maclane about how he is perplexed by the fact that both his father and Uncle were off'd by Maclane.
+Fedaykin24 I think another Gruber plotline 20 years later would jump the shark too much to be taken seriously. I think they need to do one more Die Hard though because the 5th film was shocking in every way. People say Die Hard 2 was weak, that's a fucking epic compared to 'Good Day to Die Hard.' The first and third films were further proof that Brits make the best bad guys though. William Sadler in the second film was fairly forgettable - though the writing didn't help him. There have been very effective American baddies - Robert Patrick, ?Joe Pesci, Dennis Hopper etc
+mjsee08 Timothy Olyphant made a great villain in the fourth one, you've gotta admit. Someone like him should be the next movie's villain, not just another Gruber.

+BUGGERATION2 Wow, someone's salty that other people have opinions. A lot of people, myself included, think Die Hard 3 is great. Irons was a way more interesting villain than Stuart BECAUSE he didn't kill many people. That makes him a whole lot more unique and refreshing than a kill-crazy, psychopathic murderer like Other action villains while ALSO separating him from his brother Hans, who had no problem killing. Some of his lines are DELIBERATELY cheesy because he's pretending to be someone else entirely in those moments, but his legit quips as himself are fine. If you didn't like them, fine, but there's no reason to get pissed at the people who do because the lines are fine. Jackson gets praise because he works off John's wit and pissed off nature by contributing his own variety of pissed off nature. They have awesome chemistry on screen, and their relationship is greatly and believably developed from the barrier of racism to actual friendship by the end

Love all the Die Hard's but vengeance my favorite. Best storyline, 1 of best movie bank heists I seen and awesome bad guy. The main bad guy played his character really well. The bank heist I would have to say is my favorite scene in the movie.

Best movie from the franchise. Yes 1 was also very good but for me this movie is a lot more fluent. Hans Groober was an awesome antagonist but Simon wins that for me as well. Jeremy Irons played it especially well and the whole script is a lot more fun.
And to be honest from the very beggining he was the only one who outplayed McClane. Had several moment when he could kill him instead of playing his game and manage to steal the gold right off the police noses.
Samuel L Jackson too is a very good sidekick with lots of cool speech.

Same opinion on that! One thing: In 1-3 he tries to save as many lifes as possible, in 5 he puts many lifes at risk at the car chase at the beginning of the movie AND seems happy while doing it. WTF happened to him ? I like the old, more "Thriller"-oriented movies more then the newer action-oriented movies...

Very fitting for the movie considering Simon was throwing jabs throughout the movie at John McClain about him being Irish.
Damn, now that Willis ended his career, I guess we will never see a last Die Hard movie that rumors where circling about. Bummer.
The 4th & 5th DH films were trash. The original 3 were all we need.
