What you all are seeing is that ",our" music is untouchable to anything out today or say the last 30 years. Keep on listening. Love your channel. My only advice to you is listen to more bands. Not songs from the same band over and over. There is sooooo much to see and hear. Just my opinion love.❤

The band was comprised of guitarist Jimmy Page, who created the band and also produced all their albums, multi-instrumentalist (bass, keys, mandolin) John Paul Jones, drummer John Bonham, and vocalist/harmonica player Robert Plant. They started in 1968 and disbanded in 1980 after Bonham passed away. You had North and South represented in the band; Jimmy and John Paul were born in Heston and Sidcup, respectively, while John Bonham was born in Redditch and Plant was born in West Bromwich and grew up in the Haley Green area. Their music can be described as hard rock/heavy blues but they played other styles like folk, funk, rock and roll, rockabilly, ethereal, bits of prog-style, jazz-style - in other words, you'll find a bit of a lot of stuff in their music. If you *really* want to get to know them (and I think you should), start at the beginning and go in album/track order. Believe me - the Zep fans will be here for it.

One of the best Zeppelin tunes IMO! I saw Page & Plant at Glastonbury '95. As a Zepp fan from another era, it was a total treat of a show sat under a tree close to the main stage on a sunny Sunday Afternoon watching those two perform. Man, it rarely gets better than that. I think that show is on RUclips if you fancy it.

Molly Boy, your reactions are golden!!! When it comes to the 60’s and 70’s super groups like the Beatles, Stones, and Zeppelin, it’s probably best to do them in order of oldest to newest. That’s how us old guys heard them when they were new. What most reactors don’t realize, is we kids then, grew up with these bands as THEY got older with us. Their perspectives changed as did ours, though, some never grew up. Still, the music evolved as we all aged. Also, they were competing within themselves to be THE best rock band ever!!!

I was born in 1962. I'm 61 and I also absolutely love that your generation is discovering the music of my generation! However, bear in mind that the incredible, wonderful and iconic music of Pink Floyd, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, ELP and many others was the mainstream music of its day; lauded in the press, enjoying sold-out tours, media coverage and legendary status. Many 21st century bands have matched and exceeded the accomplishments of those from the 70s' heydays. Don't discount current rock and prog merely because it doesn't have that whiff of nostalgia that old blokes like me seem to flock to. As I enjoy my 7th decade on this planet I am blown away by the new and exciting music that is still being created by my peers, and by young and exciting new talent that goes largely unheralded.

Jimmy Page top 5 guitarists, and mandolin. He was the founder, the producer, and wrote most of the music for the band. Robert Plant, vocalist, wrote the lyrics, and payed harmonica, John Bonham “Bonzo”, best rock drummer, and John Paul Jones, bass, mandolin and keyboards, and did some arranging of their music, was the heart of the band.

I would highly suggest the version of the "Rain Song" live at Madison Square Garden; it's just soo good; the vocals are great but the guitar phrasing Jimmy used on that version are just stunning IMO. Ten Years Gone is another great, and somewhat underrated, Zeppelin tune you should check out; as well as the Wanton Song, The Lemon Song, Communication Breakdown...ANY OF THEM. Thanks for the video. On a side note, have a listen to Rainbow, "Mistreated" live in Munich if you want a great intro to Ronnie James Dio, Ritchie Blackmore and Cozy Powell! Be well.

Yay! More Led Zeppelin! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 You have gotten a lot of songs recommended - I have to say, go with album number 1 (Led Zeppelin 1), first track (Good Times, Bad Times) and just go in order. Of the 9 songs on their first album, 8 are freakin’ awesome blues rock. All four band members are the best at what they do. As some have said before, the album version should be heard first because it is the pristine, mixed, song. The live versions are incredible because they take the album song and improvise the heck out of them. You get to see the passion, the magic, the almost telepathy between all four. They never do a song the same way in concert ever. Really. Not ever. Always a different improvised version. Their catalog is one of the very best in Rock history. I think you will really love going on this journey. I know all of us OG Led Heads want to experience it with you. Great channel!

You absolutely need to see it.
Both Plant and Page are older, wiser,, experienced in life and pain, they do such an amazing job. You think you are in the south side of Chicago.

More Zep = more subs. Just subbed myself. 1970 live at the Royal Albert Hall has always been one of my fav live Zeppelin shows. How Many More Times is a great song they split in half for this performance and filled the middle with medleys and outrageous music that skips around genres. IMO one of the best performances of all time. To me, they are a blues band that can also rock hard or light. Can't wait til your next one. Peace.

Went to see Robert Plant at the Symphony Hall a few days ago and he is still great to listen to after the ravages of time (which get us all in the end!) it’s really heart warming to see a young guy today, appreciate bands that were around during your own youth and were special to you, we were really spoiled with great music in the 60’s and 70’s. If I can add something, when you're not a native English speaker and you can't understand all the lyrics, I think you feel even more emotion because the sound of the words adds to the music, to its power, it's like another instrument, and what an instrument Robert's voice is! You're not distracted by the meaning, you know what I mean, and the sound of the words in English goes so perfectly with the guitar that I really believe it amplifies the pleasure you feel in your whole body.
The meaning of the lyrics comes afterwards, and in another Zep's songs it can be very important of course, I think about Achilles' last stand. In matters of blues the meaning is less important, but the musicality of the words is.

I have watch serval Robert Plant interviews where he has said Kashmir is his overall favourite. I consider Jimmy Page and David Gilmour the best guitar players in the world. Kashmir(Studio and Live at Knebworth 1979), Black Dog(Studio and Live at MSG 1973), When The Levee Breaks(Studio version specifically), Dazed and Confused(Studio and Live are different songs but both great), Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (Studio or Live Denmark Radio 1969), and finally, the Studio Version of 'Since I've Been Loving You' are their strongest songs that you haven't reacted to yet IMO :)

A few suggestions... Dazed & Confused live from the 73 MSG concert. Whole lotta love also from the same concerts. Kashmir from Knebworth in 1979. Moby Dick from Royal Albert Hall 1970.

Definitively listen to "No Quarter", a later stage Led Zeppelin, with more dark athmosphere and influx of other music styles too, and with a guitar riff from Jimmy Page (that's his name) that is great.

Going to California, that’s the way are two of their great, slower softer songs that I’ve always loved. Also check out their song Thank You.

Led Zeppelin was definitely into blue rock. Many such tunes by them.
So glad you're exploring Led Zeppelin music. While they were incredible live, I think the best way to really understand them is to start with album 1, track 1 and keep on going. Couple of reasons for that.
First, they didn't perform all of their songs live and because there is relatively little video with audio of their performances, if you don't do studio versions, you'll miss a lot of great music.
Second, they loved to improvise during live performances but to understand how incredible that was, you have to know the original studio version, otherwise you won't know when they're taking off in some direction to expand on a song.
I guess there is a third reason. Page was a genius in the studio. To miss out on what he did (some of which they couldn't replicate live), especially given the technology of the day, would be a shame.
In any case, whichever way you go, we'll be here for it! :)
Edit: I would really enjoy watching you do a reaction to the full version of "No Quarter"!

      I’ve already done no quarter

@@MollyBoyTV Yes, but the video you watched only included about 3.5 minutes of their performance when it actually went on for 12.5 minutes. So you haven't actually "done" No Quarter, just a snippet of it. Even the studio version is about 7 minutes long but, of course, LZ loved to expand on songs during live performances.
Anyway, the video you used cut out major portions of the song, including Page's incredible guitar solo, which is something I think you'd really enjoy. Up to you, of course.

"Dazed and Confused" is along the same lines as this song and is fantastic but my all-time favorite Zepplin song is "Ten Years Gone".

Oh, and I read that Jimmy laid down that amazing solo in the studio in one take. See him with the Edge from U2 and Jack White in the 2008 documentary "It Might Get Loud".
