When you’re rushing out the door and find your windshield iced over, you may be tempted to try pouring boiling water over your windshield for a quick defrost.
    Here’s the answer:
DON’T pour hot water over your frozen windshield!
DO use your car’s built-in defroster to melt the snow and ice. This method will take less time than boiling a pot of water, anyway.
DON’T use your bare hands to clean off snow and ice, either!
DO protect your hands with a warm pair of gloves before heading outside.
DON’T try and break or scrape off the ice from your windshield with heavy or metal objects.
DO invest in a sturdy snow brush with a hard plastic ice scraper.
DON’T use vinegar. Vinegar can damage your car’s paint and chrome.

Bonus tip: Water from melting snow can pool by your wipers and freeze them in place. Once parked, pull up the wipers to avoid them freezing.
