What psychological diagnosis causes a nurse to become a serial killer like this? It shocks me that there can be more than one of these types of situations! But this is about the third case similar to this that I've heard of I think. Wasn't there a male nurse who killed lots of people too before he was caught?
@@boop7313There are many "angels of death." Healthcare workers--doctors and nurses--who kill their patients. Harold Shipman, a doctor from Britain, is one of the most prolific serial killers ever, with 300-400 deaths thought to be caused by him (he was not convicted of all of them). There have been male and female nurses with many deaths by their hands. Many believe they have a "God complex," meaning they like the feeling of power the achieve from being able to take lives. Some nurses have said they kill "difficult" patients. Others like being the "hero" who comes in a revives a patients they caused harm to but sometimes the patients don't survive the attacks. Some are thought to like the excitement the murders bring.
More common than you think. Most in similar cases will NEVER be caught. Crimes like these happen in senior citizens homes EVERY DAY! Most people cannot believe that someone could or would harm a senior. A few decades ago a woman in a rest home in a coma was found to be pregnant. About 20 years ago a severely handicapped woman gave birth in her rest home but now there was DNA. The man who raped her was the immigrant employee ( along with his wife cleaning in the next room). She had gotten pregnant but how many other severely handicapped and disabled women did he rape but weren't impregnated? The doctor who came in to give her blood tests and care for her never even bothered to notice or document why she wasn't menstruating. Incompetence is standard procedure.
@@christinanielsen1917 apparently the industry with the highest number of murderers and serial murderers is the medical field even if they didn't murder people in their workplace.
Totally shocking my son died in 1989 of a heart problem with no cure. I feel the pain of these parents it must be so much worse knowing someone deliberately harmed these babies. Prayers to the families of all who died too soon. Floaty kisses to our babies in heaven gone but not forgotten

That's the question. Surely hospitals know more than they let on but they're scared of lawsuits so they usually force resignations and the culprit can go on to another hospital. Just like bad cops. Both professions are so important to society that databases should be set up so they can't skip from one agency to another.
So the line prosecutor back in the early 80’s recommended charging all of the administration, and he got overruled.. probably because it would have bankrupted the county…
I agree. They shredded records and gave her a recommendation. They should be criminally charged as accessories. They only cared about the liability not the human life.
Pretty good documentary, I like how short and to the point it was. Pretty scary that there are people out there like that woman and Letby. There should be a law that when a patient dies inexplicably that a blood test should be checked for the different types of hospital drugs.
Unfortunately ppl die in hospitals all the time. The ppl there are sick after all. Autopsies are rarely done on the elderly. Toxicology results take weeks to months to perform the blood tests you are mentioning.
I am from Texas. I temember this. Kerrville was close to where I am from. It was so unreal and sad. In those days things like that did not happen. Evil is everywhere.
This is the reason why many mothers nowadays are very vigilant when their babies are under hospital care... some psychopaths dress in with gown o pretent to be caring nurse but they are evil ... So heartless to kill innocent babies...😥😥😥
This is heartbreaking I understanding why a lot of women do home births . I gave birth in a hospital but watching all of these documentaries on nurses murdering the very people they were hired to protect is beyond comprehension.
Oh wow I didn't know y'all were a part of this case by going to the parole board etc... Thank y'all for fighting for these babies🧡 This is one of my top 5 worst cases! Y'all do such amazing work on these documentaries♡ ~Peace &Love ☮💜☯️ From New Orleans 🐊🎷🎼🎺
This is horrible especially to the parent's that lost their babies, the one where she slipped into the ambulance and give that baby one sure last dose so she don't live is not right at all..but how was she suspected and allowed to killed so many babies..these hospitals failed badly in their bid to protect these kids, by the time i'am finished listening i hope this woman got what was deserved..and how can an intelligent woman get to this level..pure evil
I remember this case so clearly even though I didn't live in Texas at the time. When she was about to get parole I was thrilled when they found another case to charge her with.
I’m really glad they found another case to charge her with too! Initially, they found 5 new murders she was responsible for between the years of 1970 - 1982, when she was working. Unfortunately, please Genene took a plea, and the 4 murder charges were dropped - which sucks, because those families deserve justice and their pain deserves to be acknowledged too. Unfortunately, Genene will be eligible for parole once again in the year 2037 when she’s 87 years old. (And they will most likely grant it to her, in my opinion.)
And yet after such a terrible case, these things still happen - eg Lucy Letby in the UK just recently. Surely lessons should have been learned by now? So dreadful.
Babies, the most innocent, defenceless, vulnerable, helpless, pure human beings. 😢😢 You know, America does have a culture where the humanity of preborn babies is ignored, even denied. It’s shouldn’t be any surprise then, that after birth, some people will still see them as of little value, realising that it’s the same little person out of the womb, as was in the womb.
The series really has potential but it’s just not put together nicely. It’s kind of amateur. I really hope y’all get better. Definitely deserves more attention
28:04 that’s the same thing that happened with that male doctor who was unaliving adult patients he moved hospitals was given good references from them which helps with him being hired at new hospitals and never said a word about what was going on at their facility even he worked there this us crazy it’s like dejavu an exact mirror with both these cases
And because human beings are slow to learn, right now, while watching this vid, there is another monster doing this very thing, while Administration scratches its head wondering if the signs are true instead of acting to save others!!!
She had two children that she would also make sick. Peter Elkind wrote a great book and article about Jones and everything around the events of this episode.
They should have checked Rosemary's baby's potassium level! I bet the nurse gave her iv potassium push! They should have checked ALL OF HER LEVELS POSTMORTEM! ....EVEN IN THE 80S
This is one of the worse put-together documentaries I have ever seen. Did you just get a bunch of clips, chuck them into a bag, jiggle it about a bit, then stick it all together? Had I not already seen a video on this woman I would have had no clue what was going on. It's not even in chronological order!

So what were the consequences for the hospital administration, who clearly covered things up and were not honest?

Basically the way the NHS made excuses for Lucy Letby. She seems to be a copycat if this woman
They went on to start more facilities. 😢
The hospital who passed her off to the clinic is just as guilty and should be liable! 😢
