- In this video I will not only be showing you a highly detailed BMW M Button Replacement / install,
But I will be illustrating the importance of disconnecting the battery when taking out the Air bag.
Being that we have to deal with wires when disconnecting the Air Bag, it is extremely crucial to
do this process perfectly, since all it takes is one mistake to cause a short circuit and your air bag
can be deployed. Therefore the proper amount of time, delicacy and patience needs to be taken in order to be as safe as possible. I will also show you how wires can still carry electrical current, even
those the charge is not plugged. This is the only video you will need to watch to install your
BMW m button.

I heard u Can pull the trim loose enough to replace it without removing the airbag
Just use the flathead to pop the black tab to pull the green and black connectors from the back of the airbag no need to pry the sides.
Is this for looks or is it a functional m button?
This is for looks. Everything is still functional as the original button. This mod will help make the interior have a more sporty feel. There are a few other mods to complete the feel.
@@CrazyCarMods is there any way to code de button to actually engage the sport mode as in the gear selector?
Uff that would be nice. From what I understand is that our sports mode since is engaged by shifting the lever to the side from the shifter itself, it acts in a 2 part process; mechanical and electrical. And since it acts as part mechanical, it may not be possible. I know in some other cars the sport button is completely electrical which would make it possible to do with just a press of a button. But hopefully someone can give us additional input on how the transmission works on that aspect.

What happen?
@@CrazyCarMods "electricity" is not in the charging cable and not in the wire harness. It is in the charger brick. You can remove negative terminal and start removing airbag the next minute - it will not go off
No need to remove air bag
