Thank you for your videos! I'm getting the hang of hard mode because of you.
Edits and Errors:
1. At 30:00 I say “AP Up” when listing Materia, I meant to say MP Up and sadly didn’t catch it in post for an on screen edit, sorry about that.
2. At 39:00 having MP Absorb-Lighting isn’t really necessary since as I mention you can just burn through all the MP she has left if you want. I just don’t think the Spectre fight is worth doing a total Materia overhaul for her especially since you’ll be losing her right after the fight.
3. At 1:02:59 I call Tifa “Aerith”, not my proudest moment lmao.
4. At 1:05:02 Don’t bother healing like I did if you’re hurt as you are right before the bench at the top of the tower.
5. At 1:09:36 I mention Big Bertha+HP Up being what gave Barret his 9999 HP, but Champion Belt is a factor too.
6. During the Reno and Rude fight I definitely waited too long to poison Reno, use Bioaga as soon as you destroy the Pyramid Mine in phase 2. I also let Barret’s health get WAY too low, pretty much as soon as it’s under half you want to heal him. I got really lucky Cloud knocked Reno out with the next hit lol. In general I played this fight kind of sloppy, lots of attacks missing because I was late on using them among other things, hopefully you still get the overall strategy though despite me not executing it all that well.
7. At the start of the video I didn't go over my materia setup, iirc that was because I used the same setup as the end of the video before I just swapped the Fire Materia on Cloud and Tifa for Ice since the enemies at the start are weak to it. Sorry about that!
You never showed the setup at the beginning of the video so when saying to remove ice for fire we dont know where ice was at the first place
Good catch, iirc the materia setup to start this video was the same as the one I ended the prior video with except I swapped the Ice materia out with fire for the enemies at the start of the graveyard. Definitely should've pointed that out though so apologies on that, I'll make a note in the comment. Thanks!
Misspeaking is hardly worth mentioning... I think its great that you speak casually and talk like a gamer
with the revamped synergy materia it is very useful on Hard Mode because now the attacks from the synergized ability will now be free of cost so you can save a lot of MP
so many wipe attacks, after beating this game in entirety I still need help on how to avoid intsa-death and how to even damage these bosses.
I have no idea what 20% of the materia does still, but I'm done with it and playing hard for fun, HOLY! do I suck! thanks for your help and boss explanation!
LOL we all suck in the beginning but once you get the hang of it, you will master the game xD
