    I live in the US, and had a sleep study done in September, and was told I need to use a CPAP machine. My prescription was sent in, only to be told when I called that there is a bit of a wait for a CPAP machine at the moment because of a recall and microchip shortage. The good news is I am 83 in line to get a CPAP machine. I finally gave up last week and decided to buy this Resvent machine. It cost me $605. I had to pay out of pocket for it because no seller I found online wanted anything to do with insurance. This is my first CPAP machine, but I was surprised how quite it is compared to the one I used when I had the sleep study.

    Thanks Uncle Nick for another explosive video. Nick I picked my resvent ibreeze up 2 months ago in the states for $535.00 with no tax. The only thing that I've found that seems different is if you change your breathing pattern at all it seems to over compensate and pulses a little bit but eventually catches up and smooths out. The humidifier tank uses much less water then I have ever noticed in any cpap machine but at the same time it does not create an abundance of moisture. But over all I think it is much better than I ever expected it to be.

    I live in America and just received the resvent. No heated hose but option for heated tube like you showed. My first night I could only do an hour. I did feel a push for breathing between 3=4. I was glad to see the lower pressure!
    Agree with distilled water as therapist stressed this. Agree about tubing in the back and lack of swivel.
    I waited over 6 months for a machine. Also I have an SSD card, no wifi!

    I am here in the states and received my iBreeze about 2 weeks ago. Mine dose not have the heated tube option but no big deal. living near the coast the humidity is not bad here and I leave the setting very low and have not had too many issues. Noise wise I sleep fine its pretty quite. The only gripe I have is the power supply for me anyway it is noisy, very high pitch wine, luckily I have it under the night stand and it dose not bother my sleep.Thanks for a great review and sleeplay was awsome to deal with

    I am on my 3rd week using CPAP with the IBreeze. Mine has no wifi capabilities but the company told me a module may be available in March. I do like the machine but as a newbie the longest use has been 4.5 hrs. I also do not like the water chamber for the reasons you didn't. My one big gripe is last night I woke up and the air was so cold I felt like I was breathing refrigerated air. It is extremely cold here outside but my bedroom was warm enough to not need a blanket. I called the company and was told the only solution is a hose cover, not good. It will be even colder tonight so 🤞or it will be returned which I would really not like to do. I was very fortunate that I only paid $575 and free shipping .
    I am really looking forward to your new tutoring classes as I could really use them.
    Thanks for all you do.

    I just got one. Love the apap algorithm and leak prevention, humidity. My only issue is the filter does not seem very good. Its only a one piece of white cotton and I'm not even sure it covers the whole entry point. Also the filter latch rattles and clicks with every breath so I had to put a little piece of scotch tape to hold it down. Also the machine has a tendency to whine which can be annoying no matter what mask I use and the air noise is pretty loud if the filter is facing your bed. Which is how I have it placed so the tube does not get stuck on the dresser corner since its on bottom back and doesn't rotate. I wonder if its the humidity tray that makes the whining, which is a little bit of a pain to get out, and has a sketchy plastic locking latch I'm afraid of breaking. But as far as the actual sleeping comfort its pretty good. different algorithm then the resmed or dreamstation but it works well for me. I always used dreamstation cause the resmed airsense 10 pulsed too much on my face. This ibreeze will do some pulses if my breathing gets irregular but quickly adapts. I have a really weak exhale and use ipr2 which seems perfect so far. Also disappointed mine doesn't have wireless so I have to pull the card to upload every month. Other then that So far so good, hopefully it lasts.

    i just got mine a few days ago and I stopped breathing on purpose to see what it would do and to my surprise, the airflow stopped ! when i started breathing again a big blast of air came in . isn't the air supposed to blast when you stop breathing to open the airway and keep you breathing regularly?

    A decibel is a measure of 'perceived' volume. If the volume of a static sound is gradually and subtly increased, the point at which you are then able to actually 'detect' that the volume has been increased is said to be 1 dB louder. An increase of 10 dB is perceived as a doubling of volume.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  Год назад

      I thought it was 3db to detect the volume increased?

    Thank you for calling out the sheer silliness of creating a cpap for women or men. Unless there is a mechanical difference (maybe men need a larger volume or higher-pressure pump), shouldn't gender simply be a choice in the configuration menu so that an algorithm can take that into account?

    I've been using an AS 11 for apx. 2 mos now, so I'm kind of used to CPAP and that machine. Just got an iBreeze as a backup and tested it for about half an hour or so, while awake. Not sure if I got a bad one, or of this is normal for this brand, but I'm not happy with the way it works. It FORCES me to breathe to IT'S rhythm, not mine. That rhythm varies. Plus the pressure rate is all over the map. One or two breaths are fairly comfortable at around 4, then the next one "toots" the mask at 6 or 7+, it's so strong! Then it will drop down again, making it hard to breathe. I started out with all optional settings off. Then I tested the various clinical controls, pressure min/max, CPAP/APAP modes, EComp, RCare, IPR etc. to see if that changed the problem and it did not. Very disappointed! I plan to send it back - which I VERY rarely do.

    Even solid, non marketing directed medical research rarely bothers to distinguish which particular aspects of sex differences causes a given medical difference. A lot of the time, if you don't fit the usual male/female divide, you have to guess: is it chromosomes? is it anatomy? is it hormone levels? is it the residual effects of past hormone levels? all those and more are the correct answer in some cases and not others. Anyone who is transgender and/or intersex just kinda gets written off as an outlier.

    I used my ibreeze for the first time last night along with a nasal cradle mask. It feels as if there is something off with the algorithm of the air coming in and out. It doesn't line up with my own breathing pattern, and I feel that it kept forcing me to inhale/breathe in when I wasn't quite finished exhaling yet. The inhalation/exhalation sounds are keeping me awake. I tried using white noise so that I wouldn't hear these sounds sounds, because that too was throwing off my natural breathing pattern and keeping me from going to sleep. I felt like it was trying to force me to breathe a certain way. Needless to say, I was unable to go to sleep even after two hours, so I just took it off and finally fell asleep naturally.

    • @TimothyCatan
      @TimothyCatan Год назад +1

      I may have had a similar issue. Machine had a mind of its own and “forced” my breathing pattern. Switched hose setting to 19mm (even though I was using 15mm) and breathing became smooth. Switched hose later to an actual 19mm hose and breathing is still nice and smooth and follows my own breathing pattern like it’s supposed to.

I have been using my DS1 for 6 years now and am eligible for a replacement through insurance. I can't afford to buy one out of pocket, times have been rough. I call the DME's every other week and they just saying they aren't sure when they will get some in :( I was super excited when the spin wheel on the giveaway almost stopped on my name, but it barely passed me :( Really hope the production picks up soon.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  2 года назад +2

      Hi Dustin, yeah it's very rough mate however it's actually ResMed and Philips fault. They created the collusive oligopoly market where they command 90% market share by using patents and lawyers to basically block new players from providing products and services. Although CPAP machines are essentially very basic, it's a very difficult industry to enter with these two big bullies in the way. Now that one of the bullies has punched themselves in the face and are out, the other can't keep up. If there was say 5 or so big companies who each had 15-30% market share then we would not be in the mess right now. ResMed can blame covid and component shortages all they like but the real truth is they created this mess. Cheers brother and good luck! Hopefully you have been able to remove the foam or put in a new foamless chamber with some of the vids i have done. Nick

    I don't understand why foam in the airway pathway can be a good idea. I believe that dense foam encasing the chamber like the original Respironics would be more effective. As an engineer I would think that foam in the airway pathway would be bad idea due to the collection of dust and debris through the years no matter how often you changed the filters; Unless they expect you to purchase a new machine every 5 years like most insurance companies authorize...

I’m not sure if the settings are accurate because when I inhale, the air surges and feels like it’s blowing me up like a balloon. What setting do I need to do to have a gradual pressure rather than a great surge of air… it’s almost like it’s breathing for me…

Then if I'm not working that day and I go back to sleep for just 2 hours or so I will wake with an AHI over 5.0. It is hard to believe my apnea is so bad for the last two hours that my AHI goes up so much. Admittedly this two hours of sleep is never a deep sleep i.e REM. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments from other subscribers.

    As always a great review Nick but i do have a ? about your comment about do not buy a Philips machine which is fair enough but haven't they fixed the foam problem with new machine built after April 2021 if my memory is correct. Don't get me wrong i have no love Philips i just bring this up because you like to keep video comments fair and as truful as to the best of your knowledge. Hey, glad you enjoyed it. Personally i don't believe they have and here's why - ruclips.net/video/1r6xoM05Lro/видео.html . Even if they have fixed the foam issue, if you watch my video on the FDA 483 report - ruclips.net/video/plC1aUPbcdw/видео.html it shows now negligent and unethical they are as a company and as such, even if they did have an amazing cpap (the DS2 is rubbish) then i still wouldn't recommend it. Yes, you're right, ResMed has a few issues also however nowhere near as bad as Philips. Cheers legend

    Hi Uncle Nick. Thanks for the video on this machine. @23:45 you mention a watch that collects the SpO2 and Heart Rate data. Is there a link to that specific watch? I currently use a Garmin Vivoactive 4 watch for that data. Could I use that instead? It would be nice to corelate that data with the CPAP therapy data. Thanks!

    So I just got a ibreeze to hold me over while I wait for my new Philips dream station. Either mine has a problem or I don’t gel with it. It’s like the algorithm for the breathing is just not right. I dislike the machine. Maybe there’s a problem with it. We will see.

It's also dryer than the last ones I've used no matter what setting I put it on humidity wise my mouth is so dry.

    can we discuss the tongue dropping back into the throat which leads to sleep apnea, which no CPAP channels are discussing, this is affecting using a CPAP machine as blowing air into the lungs is only part of the problem, chin straps facial masks, nasal masks won't help this main problem of sleep apnea, god bless you all

      A dropped tongue is one of the main causes for apnoea and cpap therapy does work. You're either not a cpap user or not well informed. I recommend watching Nicko's videos that explain apnoea and how cpap works

      you need good maskfit. I use to have this problem. dropped tongue would cause my cheeks to blow up like a chipmunk and it bothered me although you still get therapy. A good fitting mask and it no longer happens to me. You can subconsciously learn not to do it also with use.

    The "budget machine" and "premium" framing isn't super accurate and gives the wrong impression - it makes these machines seem inferior. ResMed has an established price based on reputation and insurance arrangements. People also have a certain expectation of what a machine should cost and hesitate to buy despite the fact that the cost of production on these all these machine is pretty low - the motors cost 20-30 on the Airsense 11 (certification tho is where the expense lies). Never the less, ResMed is probably making a healthy margin.
    I just got a Resmed 11 through insurance and after everything it was just a bit cheaper than this is new. I do wish it had aftermarket options like the Resmed external humidifier tank for example), but from the looks of it this seems pretty good. Maybe better with improved EPR function and the R value thing - had to use Oscar and some reasoning to figure that out with mine.

Location of hose connector is just plain stupid you have to turn the display/control away from you so the hose is in the correct position for patient to use. water chamber is small capacity, difficult to pull out of the machine for filling and If you have arthritis in your hands a painful, nearly impossible task. It's a piece of junk.

    Well here's a negative review for the I breeze, I think its a pussy. Admittedly i have only had it a week, but so far I'm not overly impressed. Also note I have severe apnea.
    In that instant where you actually fall asleep and you have an apnea and stop breathing, the machine loses it and just sits there sounding like a mini electric paint stirrer and as you are still slightly awake it will wake you up fully. My old machine would gently increase pressure and you would drift off into fulln sleep.
    This bloody thing just has a little hissy fit enstead. I had this happen at least a dozen times in a row over approximatly an hour last night before eventually I got off to sleep, only to wake up 5 hours later with a severely stuffed nose. I have been using CPap 10 year so I know my way around a machine. The menu system is absolutely brilliant on this machine, but the actual sleep algo seems screwed up. This is the 4th night in a row I have had problems, even after multiple sttings changes. It almost ended up embedded in the bedroom wall last night. I just felt like throwing it across the room I was so frustrated from losing so much sleep over multiple nights. I will give it another week, but then its going in the bin. I think this machine would b fine for mild sufferers, but for myself I think it will b a fail.
