My experience with the batteries from Worx is that that mower is going to dock every 15 min. and need to charge for an hour before it runs for 15 min. and docks again. sad because the products themselves are normally good tools.
@@kaptainkmann7808 That hasn't happened at all in 3 weeks. They rum for 90 minutes and charge for about the same. I think that's pretty impressive for a 20v battery
I bought this unit last season. Best thing I ever did. I use to mow twice a week during summer, 2hrs at a time. Now I have more time to spend with the family and lawn always look great.
Would love to see a review of these things on a lawn that is not a golf course. Mine has roots, some random sticks from trees, acorns, ruts and other normal stuff. Never seen a review of these things on real yards, just already perfect condition lawns.
Exactly lots of hills things in the way etc. This thing would be useless. Come home and it's run over your cat and that's all it achieved all day. Lol.
I'm using a worx mower for more than 4 years now and its just working perfectly. Never had any issues and it mowes my lawn perfectly. One of the best purchases i've ever made.
Thanks for taking the time to make a video about your Robotic lawn mower exploits. I purchased a Husqvarna 450 3 years ago. It cuts 1.5 acres. I have minimal trimming to do. I made sure that the mower went far enough past the wire to accomplish this when it was installed. Has given me more time to do other things and not worry about the lawn. I have St. Augustine grass.
I did the layout and installation by studying the on line videos Husqvarna had on the web ruclips.net/user/postUgkx2KDztGvdU79XTmlqIMSUyPq8CjprGJOR also recommended it When I started the unit it stated it would take a few days to learn all the spots in the yard. So I thought it was just finding the areas till I noticed it was cutting. It is so quite you don't know it is cutting.
Before you buy, I suggest you pay close attention to Amazon comments for this items sales. Several people there have problems with this mower exceeding the boundary wire daily as well as the plastic wheels slipping. It will also clog on leaves unless you've blown then away from the yard.
Use a conventional mower for 5-10 years? Buddy, mines been running since 1993 and still has the same oil in it. I figured the day I change it is the day it will blow up. I think of it as my lucky oil (sludge).
@@curiously-cinnamon No, it doesn't deserved to be filled with gas. On occasion I give it give it a treat and go past half a tank. That way it doesn't get jaded and expect stuff like fresh oil.
I have had the same worx since 2016 and I love it . I had to replace one battery because i didn't have a surge protector plugged in and had a lighting strike but the costumer service is the best I'd have ever had ...Ever ! I have a very big back yard and it keeps it up all i do is clean it and change blades. If i was to upgrade I would get a worxs the way they treated me when I had to call them was unmatched. Good service and good produce.
@@ryannglazo7991 no I think it hit the power gride near by and traveled thu the lines I didn't have a surge protector then and it messed up some of my batteries plugged in at my shop
@@tonytrevino3204 damn sorry to hear that, I have a lightning rod on the top of my house and I hate it, One time I was outside smoking a cig on my porch after the rain stopped and lightning struck it and scared the living daylights out of me, my ears were ringing for quite a few minutes, lightning is crazy.
Mowing the lawn is always the perfect start to the weekend, I’ll just stick to drinking beer and mowing the lawn. The only issue is the longer you’re out there the more crooked the lines are
As a customer, i can tell that this video is 100% legit ! You've summarized perfectly pros and cons, that's a good video sir ! If someone saw this video and is still not convinced, i'm gonna tell about my experience with my Landroid. I've purchased one last year and it works pretty damn well. I was not convinced at first glance, like he said in his video. "C'mon how those little blades cutting just a few millimeters would actively mow my yard ?" "How does a randomised pathfinding would work ? i'll have have some parts of my yard mowed and others not !" And well i was both right and wrong. I've got an 1800 yd² terrain and sometimes, as i expected, not every parts are mowed properly. However, the solution is very simple, since the only thing to do is to make it works longer ! 4 hours a day, 6 day a week and my lawn is mowed everywhere without any disproportion. But yeah, only real problem is price, as you said, a bit too much expensive, i can't argue with that. So if anyone can afford it, don't worry, it works fine, as long as you've followed installation instructions and upkeeping advices.
I set up our Landroid M to cut manually just to make sure it goes over tree roots that are above the ground and around trees, with cutting to the edge of flower bed edging. Now I set it to Auto and it mows twice daily for an hour and my grass is perfect height everyday.
@@normt430 that sounds great. After reading several reviews, I think it definitely depends on your specific situation, and I think I'll just keep using my regular mower for now lol
in sweden weve had these for almost 6 or so years and so so many families own one and the cool thing is that husqvarna makes them and they are crazy smart and useful.
i could never use one of these, mowing is just too fun but i do think its a step in the right direction for the tech (uses a battery that is similar to the rest of their line-up, uses an invisible fence, has GPS tracking, focus on safety and cheap to maintain) id be curious to to see it tackle a less than ideal yard (tree roots, uneven spots, soggy patches etc)
Love the idea not the price. Once they become more main stream definitely something I would get. It is so useful for the disabled like myself and people caring for the disabled like my terminal ill child. Just to high of price point right now. Cannot wait for them to become more affordable. Thank you for the video great info sounds like over all people/theft are the biggest issues.
I appreciate that, thank you. Yes I agree too, if these got to be very affordable I think they would sell like crazy. Blessings to you and your family.
It is probably worth it to get one if your current mower breaks, but not to get one and get rid of the current mower. Normal mowers are still like $300.
I have a Landoid m500, love it. Looks like robot lawn mowers have not caught on yet in the US. They are really common here and they do really work well. Gardena seems to be the preferred brand.
@@Johnnyta43 you will not need to edge IF you put the wire right on the edge. We had an old border around the grass so we didn't go all the way around the edge. So it doesn't get all edges. Also I have a mix yard some dirt patches and etc and often the robot will dig into the dirt and get stuck.
Back in 2007, I installed a Lawnbott brand which is the American-branded version of the Italian Ambrogio company. I chose this because it claimed to do slopes well. Back then, there were not many models on the market. Lawnbott fit the bill. In my case, I needed a solution to my elderly mother's lawn. She lived way out in the countryside and there was no one around to even hire to mow the lawn. I had zero experience with these units but I did my homework and took the chance. It works great, to this day. It's been serviced over the years with improved motors and an additional battery. We have two zones and have it on full-automatic with only some time restrictions. We don't mow before 10:00 a.m. because we live in an area where there is a lot of dew on the grass in the morning and mowing wet grass is never good. Otherwise, it runs all the time, even at night with its blinking light. Installation was a chore because we had two zones and more than an acre of lawn to deal with. While I was aware of a "trenching" device, I had no idea it existed on a small scale. In retrospect, I should have thought about the installation of invisible dog fences but it didn't occur to me. Thus, it took all weekend and 3 people to lay the wire by hand. But, once done, it was over. The mower, as you said, does a great job. Even with falling leaves, the mower mulched those. The lawn looks like a putting green and we use it more these days because there's no grass to track into the house. I am very impressed. Now, true enough - not cheap. I believe my unit, back in 2007 was close to $2,700.00. But, maintenance has been minimal and there no gas or oil to buy. Electricity supposedly in $10 for the season. I have no complaints. I did have to chuckle. Mom made the local newspaper with photographs of her sitting in a lawn chair while the mower did its thing. Mom's older male friends would come over, see this, shake their heads, and remember how many years they pushed a mower around! It was such a novelty at the time that locals would stop and watch it mow. I printed up a fact-sheet to hand out to those interested, as I was asked the same questions all the time. I know the new stuff has many improvements. When ours finally wears out, I will certainly buy another one. Thanks for the video! An excellent explanation. BTW, in all these years, I've never seen another robotic mower in action! I think they are pretty rare, at least in my area.
In Sweden robotic lawn mowers are very common. Almost all houses in my neighborhood have robot lawnmowers. And what Id say is that their is barely any theft going on with robotic lawnmowers. The cleanup part works by letting the mower mow every day it actually mulches the leaves really nice. In Sweden we primarly use Husqvarnas Automowers
Hi, do I need to use boundry wire ? If I don't need to use boundry wire , that will be pretty cool . .Well , it is the first time I have every noticed Husquarnas is a popular automowers . Thanks .
I’ve been using a Husqvarna 450XH the last two years and I love it. I sold my large 54” zero turn and bought my robot, installed it and had money left over! My yard is always cut and clean now. I still do my edging and trimming but it doesn’t take near as much time as it used to. Husqvarna has been making lawnbots for 25 years and they just keep getting better 👍
@@SilverCymbal I purchased both the Worx and Husqvarna. There is no contest, Husqvarna is way superior especially if you have any slope or complex yard. Returned the Worx as it kept getting stuck or overturning. Not the AutoMower
@@zeroturn7091 I have a 430XH. The home charging station must be plugged in, and the boundary wire runs from the charging station, so yes, it's powered (if you have a power outage, the robot immediately stops moving). My line is mostly buried. I paid for line installation, but have tweaked it in places to optimize the cut. When I do this, I use a spackle knife to cut a thin trench for the wire. Overall, I'd rate it at 8/10 and far preferable to using a tractor.
I own this model and have had it for 1 month now. It works great just like it is suppose to. People get over the stripes you keep complaining about not having anymore. Your stripes are gone days after you mow. YOU DON’T HAVE TO MOW ANYMORE. The grass is cut daily and looks like carpet. So far I am pleased with it. I still have a push mower so I can bag leaves in the fall and spring.
That's great to hear. I like the idea of it looking cut every day. I fully expected this demo to end with a lot of technical issues and it never did. I think they had an earlier model that had issues but this worked really well for me.
FreedomisntFree America I’m into this mower now for 2 months and still don’t have to mow. I’m good without a reel mower. I do change the blades once month though.
This is great for the elderly and disabled but I think that the technology it's on early stages. I can see that even for someone that enjoys mowing this could be of aid when does times when you get caught up with other things the lawn will still be done.
Looking into getting one of these because the Florida summer heat is what gets me! Mowing the lawn back in New Jersey was fine but mowing the lawn in Florida is a whole different Beast!
I have an Ambrogio 4.0 elite. 6 year warranty. Needs a winter service. Grass looks perfect every day. Now I can spend my free time on other areas of the garden. Yes it was expensive but the alternative was a ride on with much higher running costs so when you factor that in I’m saving time , saving money and my lawn it cut all the time whether is sunny or raining outside.
Thanks for this in-depth profile of robotic lawnmowers. I’m a gardener and I love gardening my edibles landscapes, and I would spend all day doing that and hand weeding, but mowing the small patches of grass areas here in the south Florida heat I hated. I had the Landroid on order when I discovered iRobot Terra, it was still set to be released so I canceled my Landroid and was waiting but within a few days iRobot made announcement to cancel the Terra due to Covid lockdowns. Man was I bummed. The Tara has some really compelling features, the remote control and the wireless boundaries were the two features I most looking forward to using… One with hand remote control lawnmower, as I said I’m a gardener and some parts of my yard have some tricky spots that may need maneuvering with the remote or training the robot to get into those areas that the wireless boundary markers cannot detect. Anyway, I seriously hope iRobot get their act together and is able to release the terra lawnmower, if not… sell the idea to a different company that can.
If I had one it would last about 15mins between neighbor hood kids riding it and local drug head stealing it...hell someone would shoot it for a turkey..
We’ve had a Gardena robomower for just over 6 years. It’s great! Just have to weedwhacker the edges every now and then. Maybe replace the blades twice or trice a year. But other than that, haven’t needed any maintenance at all, haven’t even cleaned it. Our neighbor has one too, they had to replace the battery after 5 years, easy repair, you order the battery, it arrives, you undo a few screws, swap the battery, screw it back together, and it works just like new. Well worth the price, durable and all replacement parts are easily available and rather cheap.
My family bought the first husq robomower and since 2011 it's been going strong for our steep lawn... Just had to change the unit 3 times lol but we havent used the lawnmower in years
You, dont acually have to dig the wire down by your selves, over time in like 2 months. The wire will automaicly grow down under the lawn. Tried to pull up the wire now after 2 years of the Worx other mower, and the wire just keeps snapping because its so far down
Great balanced review. I think another advantage is they are really quiet and you can schedule them to mow at night so it doesn’t get in the way of kids playing etc during the day? Apparently they work in the rain too?
You can cut in the rain but during my tests it makes a mess on the robot and needs to be cleaned so its best to let the sensor stop it from raining and it can delay as well to make sure the grass is dry. They are SUPER quiet. I let it mow during the day since it barely makes any noise.
Had My Work WR155 2000mtr for 2yrs and now 2 seasons. best thing i have ever brought. never touched my ride on lawnmower for 2yrs now :-)) even does upto the edges unlike most other robotic mowers. Brilliant bit of kit. i paid uk £1103.00 in 2020. Buy one, you will not regret it :-) install took me hour n half and was a piece of cake
Great video, thanks for posting. When robotic vacuums first came out (Roomba by iRobot), they randomly bounced around too (mindless wall bangers), then somebody noticed that was very inefficient, took way longer to vacuum the house due to repeatedly going back over areas that had already been cleaned, meaning batteries had to have many more charge cycles, and unnecessary excessive wear. Then Neato came out with their version that actually navigated intelligently around so it would get done faster, do a better job cleaning, with many less charge cycles and less wear and tear. Anyhow, once Neato showed everybody how it was done, navigating robot vacuums then became the defacto standard method of cleaning. (please pardon me if I got the history wrong, never researched it, I'm just citing this from my own personal experience using robotic vacuums.) I kind of see the robotic lawnmower as being along that same path of evolution. I feel you were spot on when you questioned in your video the longevity of the current generation of robotic lawnmowers because of all the mindless duplication of work going back over areas that have already been cut. It is that very issue that has kept me from making the investment into the robotic lawnmower technology. Regarding the claim that robotic lawnmowers that can navigate will make wear path's and trails in the yard and that is why the manufacturers opted for random operation, I say BS. It is not that hard to add a level of randomness to navigation code that insures the robot's shift over a little bit this way and that in the paths enough to prevent those hard tracks from occurring. I feel the real reason the random element is used is to accelerate the wear cycle so they wear out faster and boost repeat sales. Since I don't share your enjoyment of cutting the yard (much dislike but I'm also a cheapskate so I still cut it), this has motivated me to clean out my workshop out back I have been using for junk storage and get back to tinkering with and developing robotic lawnmowers, it is something of a quest I think will be fun, and since my wife will know where I am I'll stay out of trouble too. :) Cheers!
I know what you mean! I had like the first romba and it did that exactly 🤦🏾♀️ this works alot better than that however I have a more imperfect yard with dips , holes, dirt patches, old plastic border, and it does dig into the dirt and get stuck occasionally. I just pick it up and move it. It goes a different direction every time it comes off the docking station. Eventually the whole yard gets cut. But in the beginning I watched it with a critical eye like u missed a spot and I hope you go back and get the huge weed u just went over and missed.😂 But after using it for 2 weeks the grass it has maintained low. Oh of course I bought mine used on Craigslist for $500
@@zfran5059 Thanks for the Craiglist tip, I've been watching Facebook Market, but I still haven't seen any for sale. I have watched quite a few videos on RUclips and it seems most of the yards I see them bouncing around in, have already been cut, I wish there were more where we could actually see a difference is grass height when it cuts the grass. I've read if the grass is too high, you need to cut it with your old gas mower before releasing your new robotic mower on it, probably because to limit the amount of damage it could possibly do should it get into something it shouldn't, it is purposely made less powerful than it would need to be to handle high tough grass. Hopefully soon we will see some company come out with a smart mower that really is smart and powerful and doesn't have to babied so much.
@@TurpInTexas well we cut our grass first but it rained soon after that it started to grow. So we had very tall pieces of weeds and because the wheels will run over long pieces and other parts of the machine will go over it but it won't cut it but eventually the blade will go over it and cut it. Hey maybe I'll do my back yard it's really tall and make a video *don't hold your breath though*. But I'm so tempted to throw my extra wire on the back yard to see if will cut my tall grass. But I haven't tried it yet
I have a Husqvarna model about to install for my backyard they're widely used in Europe and should be fine. Good review thanks I have confidence in the unit but I'll still have to edge/ trim.
I have walkways that divide my lawn, if the boundary is big enough will it sort of skip my walk ways jump to the next set of lawns without damaging the blades or malfunctioning? not everyone has 1 perfect square lawns...
Yes, we have a sidewalk and it crosses daily without problems. Just that sometimes when people are walking their dogs they have to stop until the robot moves out of the way. Of course they look up to the house like some is controlling it.
I bought a Husqvarna AutoMower 220 AC new in 2009. It has been working cutting my lawn for 11 years. In this time I have changed the battery one (1) time! Other than that just basic regular cleaning.
When we visit Austria 2018, many of robot mowers are just roaming in the Austrian yards like it was even noiseless, clean yards. I was so amazed. These should be cheaper by now.
The Huskevarna ones are $3,500, this is $1000, so the price has come down, but with so few players in the American market, it doesn't make sense to make it any cheaper until we have a few dozen brands to buy from. Then of course there is the Landscaping Lobby, because its America, and we can't be losing jobs to machines XD. All jokes aside, how many do you see in your town, there isn't a single one here, and it costs money to make a product, and it it isn't sold in high volume, it will cost more. I mow at maximum deck height, so I only have to mow once every 2-3 weeks on average, 5 times so far this year, I'll only have to mow 2 more times. At 1.5 hours to mow, thats only 11 hours a year. If I value my time at $10 a hour, thats only $110 of value I'd be getting out of a robot mower. Compare that to vacuuming at 15 minutes a day, or 91 hours a year, and a Roomba will be $910 of value. Picked up an E6 for $250, set it to run daily, floors have never been cleaner. Still have to take 30 seconds a day to clear the rollers of 20" hair, but that's only 3 hours a year I actually have to "vacuum". Technically still need to hit the edges once a month with the Shark so 4 hours a year, for a total of 7 hours a year vacuuming, down from 91. But considering most people don't value their free time... $250 / 84 hours = $2.97 for an hour of free time, and surely an hour of free time is worth that much.
Interesting. I would’ve loved to see footage of it cutting through longer grass, so you can see the difference of grass length. The footage here doesn’t really show it cutting the grass as it all looks the same length.
It's not a "long" grass cutter, if you let the grass grow long enough to see a difference, the grass is too long and you'll need to cut it down before using the bot again. It's supposed to KEEP the grass short, not cut a yard from jungle to flat.
I think this is a great idea. How bout if I have the robot lawn mower mow the grass (South Florida) when it's already 80 degree in the am or during the day....and then I can decide (whenever it suits me) to Hank Hill it instead?
In my place I get a lot of cones and pines plus leafs and broken branches and some small stones after snow blowing so to get all this debris up I use the Agrifab lawn sweeper after my John deere garden tractor I also use the garden tractor to detach and spread fertiliser in the yard even hauling fire wood and all kinda things on the property
There are low maintence yards and high maintence yards. Our robot goes right over the dog's balls. But the sticks from trees are just obstacles the robot will go around.
As far as the lawn striping goes, I feel like there is a pretty simply software solution to this. Given that the mower has GPS and physical boundary detection via the cable, as well as the optional radar, it should be able to quite easily build a digital map of your yard. Not only would this allow for striping, but it could also be use to optimize the mower's path to reduce mowing time.
if it mowed randomly I would assume it would miss spots and over weeks of the grass growing there would be noticeable spots it was missing. I also think you got the mower for free to make this video. and thats why you did more of a video about the mower instead of a review type video.
I saw in another video you have to get some sort of plastic roller coaster type rail for it to be able to go over a driveway into the backyard or whatever
If you run the boundary wire through the crack of your driveway so there is a strip a few feet wide it will travel through it over the driveway to the other side. Mine is set up this way
I get sick and tired if cutting grass.. But i love the fresh cut look... After working in a refinery and long hours for a7 day shift,This could really come in handy on my of days... God knows i dred doing anything like this on a off day...i would invest in one of these for sure!!! We're living in the Jetson age for sure now
Prove it by showing before and after grass cutting. I have been cutting grass for over 40 years. I use an RC lawnmower. Built by me of course. Very strong and works wonderfully.
Got robot vacuum cleaners, robot mops and now looking for robot lawnmower. I would spend time with my son and wife rather than doing these manual labor chores.
The blade system is a really simplified version of a commercial discbine. They have 2 basically much larger of those little blades and one or two bolts holding them in.
I need one of these. I’ve been reel mowing 3 times a week and my wife hates how much time I’ve been spending in the lawn lately. Don’t tell her this exists 😂
That’s what I want them to develop, a robotic reel mower that mows straight stripes that I can send out by remote control at the press of a button every morning when I retire. It’s all part of my plan to sit on the patio and watch the robot mow while eating breakfast and drinking a mimosa every day. Then I’ll jump in the pool. This is what we’ve done all of this for and it’s all so close.
Question what wire, Do we still have to put one down when there is a fence? Also, on the part of the yard between the sidewalk and street guess we have to do that one separate?
I love my landriod! You still have to do maintainance (weed eating, picking up leaves etc..). The only problem I had with mine is it would lose connection to the app quite often, so I got a wifi extender and put it close to the wall near where the droid charges.
I think you will be surprised. Ambrogio has a mower that is articulated and is perfect for your situation. It’s meant to go over very uneven ground. ruclips.net/video/AgC3QZkDnkw/видео.html
Well I have a flat yard but has dirt patches and places where it's dirt and it sometimes gets stuck when it goes over certain areas. But you can move your boundary wire around it. But the robot does move over hills n lumps and uneven pavement but still does a great job
@@zfran5059 well you can get one that is designed to handle very uneven surfaces. Ambrogio makes one that articulates and has very chunky grippy wheels that would be perfect for your situation
Well mines will take breaks in the dirt patches 😬it's actually get stuck in dips in my yard. If you run it every day eventually it get to the uncut part. Yes in the beginning I did a lot of spot checking and yelling😂
If you are looking at robotic mowers and want one with the best features and R&D, definitely go with the Husqvarna Automower. A lot of people don’t realize how long this technology has actually been around for. Husqvarna debuted their first model for demos back in the late 90s and have been developing and advancing their mowers ever since. I can’t speak to the quality and lifespan of the Worx as I haven’t ran them extensively. However to me, the Husqvarna quality speaks for iteslf. The first Automower our dealership installed was in 2006, and that unit is still operating today almost 15 years later.
The Worx Landroid has app features for control of the unit via your wifi. The wifi connection always AI to look at the weather to determine cutting times. The boundary wire gives notice when outside of Geo Fence and you can see it's location on google maps.
Yes, the Husqvarna Automower has those same features as well. The built in SIM card allows you to control the mower, get fault notifications and adjust settings like cutting height from wherever you are, not just on your home wifi. It also has a weather timer, but it doesn’t work the way most people think. With the mower being fully rain proof it will cut 24/7 rain or shine. With the weather timer turned on, it will look at the resistance on the cutting disc to see if the grass is growing, and if it doesn’t sense any, the mower will park for 24 hours so that it doesn’t mat down the grass during dry spells with little rain and slow grass growth. To me the quality also comes down to the software in the mower. As far as I understand, the Worx Landroid has to follow the boundary wire in order to get back to the charger. This will lead to a set of tire ruts forming around the outside of your yard. The Husqvarna has full GPS navigation built in so it learns and maps your yard and can easily get back the the charger without leaving ruts by taking a different path every time.

Only dumb people clean up and rake leaves. And then they put the leaves in bags and have the trash company take them away. These are city people who dont know how to do yard work.
@@richardg5301 Its called a mulching mower. The leaves get ground up just like the grass clippings and they break down. Like do you ever see the mexican lawn mower people bagging grass clippings?

Thank you for this informational video! I just saw one of these robot mowers on a lawn in my neighborhood yesterday. I did not even know these things existed! I hate mowing the lawn and I will research these things to see if it is viable.
Doesn't matter, the wire is supposed to be so many inches inside the border anyway and you can use tacks to push the wire down to the ground and it will slowly grow over the wire on it's own or bury it as stated.

my small yard does not have a fence around it...could I have the station in the back and bring it out when charged and sit and watch it cut the grass? Trying to figure out a way to "keep" it.
Our Landroid has cut daily for 3 weeks and only uses 20% of battery for 1.25 hours of cutting. This is in Auto mode as I was manually cutting allowing it in Party Mode, which goes everywhere. Then because Landroid goes to the wire and turns away it does a clean up of the edge about twice a week.
I live in Florida and we have very thick St Augustine grass. 4" cut height would barely be high enough. Also, how big of a yard do you cut? I've got roughly 5000 sq ft. Also, I have a front and rear lawn with a gate. Also a sidewalk with a strip of grass near the road. Just seems like so many obstacles to a robotic mower being a realistic solution for me. Oh, and did I mention I have large dogs?
The Landroid 140 is designed for 1/4 acre and 150 for 1/2 acre. We are using 140 for almost a half acre without problems. We have mixed grass type and cut 1.6" .

Ok, now I'm sold. Always wondered how these worked.
If this thing is anything like my Roomba it'll promptly cut up the garden bed and dive into the pool.
That is what thr boundary wirr is for. It won't go outside of the area you designate.
Before you buy, I suggest you pay close attention to Amazon comments for this items sales. Several people there have problems with this mower exceeding the boundary wire daily as well as the plastic wheels slipping. It will also clog on leaves unless you've blown then away from the yard.
Or find some tiny thing to get stuck on or forget how to dock or focus on one tiny area for 15 hours straight...

I know that my roomba cruises right over that $40 boundary strip. Honeybadger don’t care.

You've summarized perfectly pros and cons, that's a good video sir !
If someone saw this video and is still not convinced, i'm gonna tell about my experience with my Landroid.
I've purchased one last year and it works pretty damn well. I was not convinced at first glance, like he said in his video.
"C'mon how those little blades cutting just a few millimeters would actively mow my yard ?"
"How does a randomised pathfinding would work ? i'll have have some parts of my yard mowed and others not !"
And well i was both right and wrong.

I just read an article that said they are a $2billion business in Europe so you guys definitely have a lot more of them.
I've seen some models that will create tracks around the perimeter of the lawn. Does this mower do that?
What about edging and weed whacking??
Sweden has Yngwie, Amon Amarth, ABBA, Messhuga & Ghost as well. All are extremely talented.

@@zeroturn7091 I have a 430XH. The home charging station must be plugged in, and the boundary wire runs from the charging station, so yes, it's powered (if you have a power outage, the robot immediately stops moving). I own this model and have had it for 1 month now. It works great just like it is suppose to. People get over the stripes you keep complaining about not having anymore. You can cut in the rain but during my tests it makes a mess on the robot and needs to be cleaned so its best to let the sensor stop it from raining and it can delay as well to make sure the grass is dry. They are SUPER quiet. I let it mow during the day since it barely makes any noise.

(please pardon me if I got the history wrong, never researched it, I'm just citing this from my own personal experience using robotic vacuums.)
I kind of see the robotic lawnmower as being along that same path of evolution.
Cheers!
Yes, we have a sidewalk and it crosses daily without problems. Just that sometimes when people are walking their dogs they have to stop until the robot moves out of the way. Of course they look up to the house like some is controlling it.

When we visit Austria 2018, many of robot mowers are just roaming in the Austrian yards like it was even noiseless, clean yards. I was so amazed. These should be cheaper by now.
Very interesting! I would like to see the price on all these come down too. Imagine if they were $200 or less, people would buy them like crazy
Oh I get it. It only cuts grass that doesn't need cut.
@@delbertdemarco6921 No, it just constantly trims the grass so it stays a consistent height and never looks bad. It's not a brush hog.
I agree the issue is that it literally comes down to inches so it doesn't fall into beds, etc. They just haven't gotten that accurate.
ya, if my indoor vac can do stripes on my carpet, then a robo mower should be able to the same way....
if it mowed randomly I would assume it would miss spots and over weeks of the grass growing there would be noticeable spots it was missing. I also think you got the mower for free to make this video. and thats why you did more of a video about the mower instead of a review type video.
It mows daily so never a spot missed. Just have to trim like normal.
Can it open the gate and hit the back yard or climb over the cobble stone?
This one has a boundary wire and is synced to phone app and your wifi for security fr ok m theft and it looks at weather forecast with AI.
That mower is actually really cool!
Got robot vacuum cleaners, robot mops and now looking for robot lawnmower. I would spend time with my son and wife rather than doing these manual labor chores.
I went all the way from looking up Chinese seeds arriving in the mail, to robot mowers this morning. RUclips is weird.
The blade system is a really simplified version of a commercial discbine. They have 2 basically much larger of those little blades and one or two bolts holding them in.
I know a neighbor who has one now for 2 years. Diff brand and bigger machine. They have some sloping and about 1/3 acre. It works great.
Dads be buying these and watching them mow the lawn and holding beer in their hand like 🍺😎
I need one of these. I’ve been reel mowing 3 times a week and my wife hates how much time I’ve been spending in the lawn lately. Don’t tell her this exists 😂
I've done the same😂 but I like mowing the grass😕
Your neighbours must secretly hate you
That’s what I want them to develop, a robotic reel mower that mows straight stripes that I can send out by remote control at the press of a button every morning when I retire. It’s all part of my plan to sit on the patio and watch the robot mow while eating breakfast and drinking a mimosa every day. Then I’ll jump in the pool. This is what we’ve done all of this for and it’s all so close.
Bruce Solomon totally! Love that idea! 😁
Are you trying to avoid your wife?
Mowing the lawn is the bane of my existence. *Quickly adds robot mower to his Father's Day gift idea list..
Or you could hire humans who can open and close gates and who can edge and use a leaf blower.
@@smokedoggxxl Yeah? What's your rate?
I love Worx! My gas trimmer is over 10 years old. They’re reliable!
Question what wire, Do we still have to put one down when there is a fence? Also, on the part of the yard between the sidewalk and street guess we have to do that one separate?
Great video as always!
Great video and I appreciate all the work in making it, thank you. And.... beautiful lawn too! 👍
So nice of you
They never say the price in their catalogue. I dont trust people that have a phone number instead
Home Depot carries the Worx - $1,200.
Actually most high end lawn equipment don’t list their prices
if you can afford a lawn I don't think price matters
I love my landriod! You still have to do maintainance (weed eating, picking up leaves etc..). The only problem I had with mine is it would lose connection to the app quite often, so I got a wifi extender and put it close to the wall near where the droid charges.
Must get one for my Dad - his cat will love it!
Was looking at these thought no way it could cut my yard pot holes hills tress multi. Levels
I can already see myself yelling at the thing shouting you missed a spot again.
That happens. For some reason the model they sell in the UK has a voice control option. We can’t get it here. Maybe they don’t trust us? 😀
I think that voice control is useless if the mower is mowing according to shedule.
That’s screamingly hilarious
Third time this week Terra! You should’ve been a dishwasher!
Well mines will take breaks in the dirt patches 😬it's actually get stuck in dips in my yard. If you run it every day eventually it get to the uncut part. Yes in the beginning I did a lot of spot checking and yelling😂
This video gave me an idea, robotic children for cleanup/raking.
I have a Husqvarna and love it. Does a great job.
"If you wan't to do cleanup you'll need another piece of machinery or something to do cleanup"
Shows footage of your daughter raking
lol
but thats cute
Only dumb people clean up and rake leaves. And then they put the leaves in bags and have the trash company take them away. These are city people who dont know how to do yard work.
@@greenlawnfarm5827 What does a smart professional yard work guy like yourself do?
@@richardg5301 Its called a mulching mower. The leaves get ground up just like the grass clippings and they break down. Like do you ever see the mexican lawn mower people bagging grass clippings?
@@greenlawnfarm5827 I've been mulching that way on two acres for thirty years. One issue I've found is that I'm creating a lot of organic material, which is a good thing. The organic material attracts the worms and my soil is great. The drawback is that the moles LOVE the worms and I have a serious mole problem.
@@jayrowe6473 I have some moles but not many. I never thought about getting rid of them, but I am sure there are methods.
Alexa, mowing my lawn in the next 20 min!!!
I'd never spend the money on one, but this was a good overview and fun to watch.
Thank you for this informational video! I just saw one of these robot mowers on a lawn in my neighborhood yesterday. I did not even know these things existed! I hate mowing the lawn and I will research these things to see if it is viable.
When a 20” push mower isn’t small enough
That wire is an issue. My yard is connected to both my neighbors.
You could probably bury the wire on the property line tho
Doesn't matter, the wire is supposed to be so many inches inside the border anyway and you can use tacks to push the wire down to the ground and it will slowly grow over the wire on it's own or bury it as stated.
Nawww I'm good I love mowing my lawn n doing the manual work,I love the smell and I enjoy the outdoors..this would JUST make me LAZY... FACT'S and I don't want to hear it works for the busy person who doesn't have time..YES U DO IF YOU PRIORITIZE.....but I ALSO get it that some people JUST don't like doing the work......n that's okay.
How is this working on long, wet or uneven lawns?
It will mow up to 20% incline.
surprisingly, there are a lot of people love to mow the grass. i wish i live next to that person but for now i'm getting the mow-bot.
I like this robot lawn mower, I would have one but wait... I don't even have a lawn and live in a flat.
Been saying it for years, one day it'll happen, well here it is....Think my job is safe for a while yet though lol.
In Europe, robot mowers are very popular. They been using them for awhile.
This world soon going to take over by Robot 🤖
my small yard does not have a fence around it...could I have the station in the back and bring it out when charged and sit and watch it cut the grass? Trying to figure out a way to "keep" it.
The boundary wire is the trick to mowing your lawn.
All ppl need to come to sweden. Here i would say that maybe 80 percent of the households have robots!! We love them!
I's this the Jose 3000?! It's okay I'm Hispanic I can say this..
It’s probably the Juan 2.5
Hahaha
you can make that joke no matter who you are.
might have to buy a few of them at once, I can see this getting stolen easily
Mine has won’t function outside the wire. Pin protected and has GPS tracking.
Thieves would plan to steal this from my yard with more details than an Oceans 11 movie.
Has theft alarms and GPS tracking you can watch it on Google maps even while mowing in the yard!
I'm late to this party but.....how long did it take in total to cut your lawn? How many battery changes or recharges? Real life stuff...thanx
